How to know stat file retention setting

Hi,
Wanted know where & which table or function module or report will give me stat file data retention period
i have this function module "SAPWL_STATREC_READ_FILE" which read the data from stat file now want to know how will i get the setting for how many days of data be stat file will have?

To get the number of pages you would need to write or find an existing Java API that can parse the proprietary formats of each type. And some formats do not really have pages. For instance, the number of pages of a .txt (often opened by Notepad by default) file would depend on your page length which is not generally stored in the file it is set by the tool you use to read the file.

How to know when File Adapter is complete when debatching?

I have a BPEL process that reads in a file and debatches it into records of 1 and inserts them into a table.
How do I know when the entire process is complete and all records in the file have been handled?

Thats the problem with the file adapter. If you use it in debatch mode, you cannot really control the different BPEL processes that get spawned off one file.
The other approach for scenarios where the file is huge, could be to use the adapter in notification mode. So the file adapter will notify the BPEL process, that the file is available, and then BPEL process can read the file using xpath functions or java code etc.

look at the different class used in your code ; then see in the API the package of these classes ; if package is "java.lang", it's useless to add the import statement ; if the class appears to be in another package, you have to import this package
by the way, the import process is automated in IDE (ctrl + shift + o for eclipse ide, for example)

How to use jar files without setting classpath

I have a situvation, I can not set classpath, but i have to use jar files, how can I do that.

Now load classes within the jars loaded by the urlc classloader as needed. This is a limited approach, you can mostly use interfaces to work with classes loaded by the custom loader instance above and your existing classes.

How to determine binary file data set size

Hi all
I am writing specific sets of array data to a binary file, appending each time so the file grows by one data set for each write operation. I use the set file position function to make sure that I am at the end of the file each time.
When I read the file, I want to read only the last 25 (or some number) data sets. To do this, I figured on using the set file position function to place the file position to where it was 25 data sets from the end. Easy math, right ? Apparently not.
Well, as I have been collecting file size data as I have started the initial tet run, I am finding the the file size (using file size command and getting number of bytes as a result) that the size is not growing the same amount every time. My size and format of my data being written is identical each time, an array of four double precision numbers.
The increments I get are as follows, after first write - 44 bytes, after 2nd - 52 bytes, 3rd - 52 bytes, 4th 44 bytes, 5th - 52 bytes, 6th - 52 bytes, 7th - 44 bytes and it appears to maintain this pattern going forward.
Why would each write operation not be identical in size of bytes. This means that my basic math for determining the correct file poistion to read only the last 25 data sets will not be simple and if somewhere along the line after I have accumulated hundreds or thousands of data sets, what if the pattern changes.
Any help on why this is occuring or on a method of working around the problem would be much appreciated.

I have stripped out the DSC module functions from the vi and attached it here. I also set default values to all the inputs so it will run with no other inputs. I also included my current data files (zipped as I have four of them) though the file names are hard coded in the vi so they can be changed to whatever works locally. In fact probably will have to be to modified for the path anyway.
If you point to a path that has no file, it will create a new one on the first run and the file size will show zero since there is no data in it. It will start to show the changes on each subsequent run.
As I am creating and appending four different files, each with it's own set of data but always the same format (array of four double precision numbers) and the file size information always increments the same for all four files (as will be seen in the File Size Array) I don't think it is a function of the size of the acutal numbers but something idiosyncracy with how the binary file is created.
If this proves to be a major hurdle I guess I could try a TDM file but I already got everything else working with this one and need to move on to other tasks.

Select teh File processing mode as
1. Read only -> After reading the file it will change the read only property of the file. Just right click on the file, select properties.If the file has been read then ReadOnly check box will be enabled. If u are testing several times then it will be more useful.
2. Archive -> Then u need to give some other folder name where u want to archive it.
3.Delete -> It will delete if the file has been successfully read.

How to know whether file is modified or metadata from SharePoint Document Library version history

I have uploaded a document in document library. I am writing code to retrieve the items from the library only if document is modified, not the metadata.
So if for an item only metadata is modified then it should not come, if document is modified then it should come. I tried from version history but it doesnt work. Any idea?

Each file has an associated SPListItem which contains the metadata. See if the SPFile.TimeLastModified reflects the file and not the metadata.

How to know which files it just backed up? Or will be backing up?

Is there any way to find out what files Time Machine has queued up to back up on the next run of Time Machine? Or which files it just backed up on the last run?

the log, which I have not been able to view, displays directories that have changed, not individual files. The log would get too huge too quickly if every change were recorded. TM then has to scan the log and then look in those directories and do it's own scan of the indicated portions of the disk. TM doesn't leave a log on it's own, although that would be nice for the curious.
Since the files are all referenced by hard links, it is difficult to tell by just looking at the backup directories which files are actually new. The file itself could have been copied long ago, TM just makes hard links to the older copies if the file hasn't changed so that the backup directories all look complete.

In Linux a user has to have read permission on a file to even see that it exists. As a result, if a user (or a group to which they belong) doesn't have read access to the file File.exists() will return false. Windows which doesn't have as tightly controlled access to files will admit that a file exists whether it can be read or not.
PS.
This is proof that I should never answer a question off the top of my head when I haven't had my red bull yet. This is wrong. You will be able to see it if you have read and execute on the directory.

Yes there is some, called stat(), look the links in your post in stack overflow, there is a lot of link in the anser.
They talk about sys/stat.h a C header, witch contain the stat() function.
stat() return a lot of things (size, changes, access etc) about files. look the "here" everywhere in the Yann anser, UP his anser and put the subject as resolved.
