HOW TO LIMIT BLOCK RECORDS

Hello all!
Is there a block property where I can set the maximum records per block?
I found just a property where I can set the visible records, but the user
can insert as many records as he likes to.

I fear there is no easy solution, because users can "clear" a record
(so it still exists in the database but is no more visible in forms)
and then enter another "fourth" one, etc.
My suggestion is:
- Prevent users from using "clear block" and "clear record" by disabling it
- Set the detail block's insert allowed property to false
- Create a "Key-CREREC" trigger on the detail block with the following code:

Instead of pulling the keyfigures B and C in the report, create two formulas. For B, define the formula as (A==0)B. For C, define (A==0)C.
This will show B and C values only when A is equal to 0, when A is not 0 the values of B and C are shown 0. If you dont want to show B and C when A is not 0, go to the query properties and suppress zeroes for columns.

How do I add multiple text block records from text file?

The data manager documentation (page 151) for MDM 5.5 SP3 indicates that one or more new text blocks can be added to the Text Blocks object table from files. It is noted that the files must be plain text files.
I use notepad and create a text file with two lines as follows:
Test 1
Test 2
When I try to add the text blocks following documentation mentioned above, it only adds one record for the Data Group I have chosen and the record contains the entry "Test 1" from the first line in the text file.
How can I add multiple records to the data group from a file?

From my testing it appears that you need to have one text file per text block record in Data Manager.
I wrote VBA macro to so that I could input my text blocks into an Excel spreadsheet and then the macro will take the contents of each cell in a highlighted column and create one text file per cell.
Then using Data manager, I can select all of the text files at once and it will import them, creating one record per text file.

How to clear a record of control block

i have one control block with 2 items and the Max. records displayed property is set to 10.I have populated 5 records and now i want to clear one record, but the clear_record statement does not seem to be working. How to clear a record in a control block. Please help me out in this doubt of mine.

You have probably moved focus to another block. You have to go_block and maybe go_record before using clear_block.

Do you want this coordination to be automatic/synchronized or only when the user clicks a button or something else to signal the coordination? Your answer here will dicate which trigger to put your code in.
As to the coordination part, as the user selects a record in the Control Block (CB), you will need to take the Key information and modify the Data Block's (DB) "DEFAULT_WHER E" block property. The logical place to put this code is the CB When-New-Record-Instance (WNRI) trigger. You code will look something like the following:

The Control block items are assigned with values in Form level (Key_exeqry).If your CD is populated from a single table, it would be better to create a Master - Detail relationship (as Abdetu) describes.

In Smartform also, why dont you try reducing the size of the window if you want to limit the rows in it. Also if you are printing Line Items in a LOOP, you can write
LOOP AT T_ITAB FROM 1 TO N in the LOOP Node if you know how many records exactly you want to display in 1 Page processing.

Block cash sales with credit limit blocking from creation of outbound

Hello everyone,
Can you please teach me how to block cash sales with credit limit blocking from creation of outbound delivery? Currently, outbound delivery can not be created only for charge sales with credit limit block. Problem is, we can not confirm the cash sales. We have to delete first the outbound then unblock the S.O. before creating a new Outbound.

Cash sale transaction will not have credit limit block, as the transaction is based on receipt of immediate payment. But if you still want to try the same, configure a 'Z' transaction Type for cash sale (Copy of Cash Sale - Sales Order Type) and maintain Credit check field as 'D' and try the scenario.
Ideally there should not be a Credir Check foe a Cash Sale Scenario.

Please set an authorization trace in ST01 and then ask the user to execute the transaction and the steps on the same application server as the o ne on which the trace has been set (valid in case we are talking about mutiple application servers for same <SID>). After this is done switch off the trace,list it and fill all the authorization objects. That might give you the perfect idea.

I am running an oracle text search which returned the following error to my java program.

When i looked up the net, one suggestion that was given is to narrow the wildcard query, which i cannot in my search page. Hence I am left with the only alternative of limiting the number of results returned by oracle text search query.
Please let me know how to limit the number of search results returned by oracle text so that this error can be avoided.

Hi,
If not set explicitly, the default value for WILDCARD_MAXTERMS is 5000. This is set as a wordlist preference. This means that if your wildcard query matches more than 5000 terms the message is returned. Exceeding that would give the user a lot to sift through.
My suggestion: trap the error and return a meaningful message to the user indicating that the search needs to be refined. Although it is possible to increase the number of terms before hitting maxterms (increase wildcard_maxterms preference value for your wordlist), 5000 records is generally too much for a user to deal with anyway. The search is not a good one since it is not restricting rows adequately. If it happens frequently, get the query log and see the terms that are being searched that generate this message. It may be necessary to add one or more words to a stoplist if they are too generic.
Example: The word mortgage might be a great search term for a local business directory. It might be a terrible search term for a national directory of mortgage lenders though (since 99% of them have the term in their name). In the case of the national directory, that term would be a candidate for inclusion in the stoplist.
Also remember that full terms do not need a wildcard. Search for "car %" is not necessary and will give you the error you mentioned. A search for "car" will yield the results you need even if it is only part of a bigger sentence because everything is based on the token. You may already know all of this, but without an example query I figured I'd mention it to be sure.
As for limiting the results - the best way to do that is to allow the user to limit the results through their query. This will ensure accurate and more meaningful results for them.

How to limit repainting to 75 hz in a Panel?

Hello all, I have created a geometrical editor and I want to limit refresh rate of the repaints when I am moving an object on the screen to 75hz (or to the monitor refresh rate) because it uses 90% of CPU when moving an object.
When user drags an object I:
- detect it in the mouse listener (drag method)
- move the object in the memory (tree of objects)
- I call repaint of the panel
How can I enable t his limiting? I know there is some class called BufferStrategy, can I use something similar in JPanel? Or does this swing automatically? Thanks

can give my own solution until a Java2D freak give
the ultimate one :
Create a framecounter
1)Create a counter : each time you execute the method
that render a frame, increase the counter.
2) in paint method, get the
System.currentTimeMillis(). Compare it with the last
value to compute de delta of time. Compare the
current framecounter value with the last value. You
have the delta of framecount. Compute framecount
delta over delta of time then multiply the result by
1000 to get the current framecount by seconds. If
result is over 75, paint method should return. Else
you call the method that render a frame.
What do you think about that ? I'm using this
solution, and it gives a quite good Fps control. Note
that I do not compute the curent Fps until an amount
of time is past. Exemple : I'm waiting for the delta
of time to reach about 300ms before computing delta
of framecount. That give a better current Fps average
but approximates the Fps control.
Have you a better method ?For timing that accurate you would need to use System.nanoTime().
Another way of achieving a framerate lock of 75 fps, is to change to a fullscreen mode, with a DisplayMode that is refreshing at 75hz, then create a BufferStrategy.
The BufferStrategy will be vsync locked (if the hardware driver allows vsync'ing), this will make BufferStrategy.show() block until the next vsync signal occurs.

when I start extract, have a error:

I check where condition in the select statement is ok.
I don't know what is different between condition in params of extract and condition in select statement?

The trunc(date) to round date to the first time in the day. I think it is not reason of the error.
{code} The TRUNC (date) function returns date with the time portion of the day truncated to the unit specified by the format model fmt. The value returned is always of datatype DATE, even if you specify a different datetime datatype for date. If you omit fmt, then date is truncated to the nearest day. Please refer to "ROUND and TRUNC Date Functions" for the permitted format models to use in fmt.
