How to limit umber of items in a webpart view?

Hi
My scenario goes like this
1. I have created a list
2. Then I created a web part page and added that list on that page
3. Now i would like to limit the number of item visible on that page to a specific number, as this page is my home page and i do not want it to look messe with so many document visible to the user or any scroll visible to prev and next the document.

Hii Paru,
There are so many ways to achieve this, the best way i would suggest to modify the view and set the item limit in the view, then Edit ListViewWebPart and apply create a xsl file deefine XSL Link property under Miscellaneous. Example(Code) for xsl file is
