Hi,
When there is a RFC Model with table ouptut....every row in the table can be correlated to elements in the model node...
your model node : nodeEx_Org_Units
Now if you have 5 rows as output after executing the model...there will be 5 elements created under the node. Loop through all the elements and use the get methods as given below:

This is my first pl/sql program, I've written psudocode on paper, but not sure what to do for two parts.
What I'm trying to do is write pl/sql that will check a row based on an employee id #.

536 columns in one table? Yowsa. Without a normalized table, you are going to need dynamic pl/sql and a messy solution.
I would rethink your design, and come up with something more like so:
employee
questions
employee_responses
So that would you could easily do something like this:

PL/SQL how to loop thru SQL statement?

Hey guys. I have this bit of a complicated problem.
I have a cursor that selects a DISTINCT field called Term and a StudentID.
I am looping thru that cursor.
Inside that loop I have another SQL statement that is pulling all rows from the DB where the Term = the Term and the StudentID= the StudentID from the crusor loop.
My problem is how do I get all the information/rows returned from that SQL statement? I need to loop thru it somehow, but I am not sure how to do it.
If there is a better way to get this done feel free to chime in.
Here is my code.

How to Loop thru a Queue?

I have a Queue that I can add and remove items from, but I need to display all the contents currently in the Queue.
How would I loop thru the Queue and do this?

Thanks for the link. It showed me which methods an Iterator has, but not practical way to use it. So I did some googling and found this example.

I have a BAPI ZBAPI that has a tables parameter ZPernr of type ZTable with two elements pernr and name.
I used adaptive RFC model and created model classes for the BAPI.
My question how do i set list of pernr and name to the tables parameter in the webdynpro for java.
I have the following methods available

table.setname(name);

how do i set the table parameter for multiple pernr and name

add all the pernr and name to list and set that list to input in the following way

out of two methods mentioned which one is correct.

How to call a report thru an RFC w/o displaying the Report UI

I have to pass the parameter to a report thru an RFC.
I am using submit command , but I do not want SAP gui to appear..
This is the report UI code .
PARAMETERS : werks LIKE mseg-werks OBLIGATORY.
SELECT-OPTIONS : budat FOR mkpf-budat OBLIGATORY,
 material FOR mseg-matnr.
I have to pass the value to the report from my RFC by assiging values to these control in my RFC . and also I do not want display the SAP GUI for the Screen.
I have used this code to achive this.
SUBMIT ZRPT_MM_045 EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY AND RETURN
 USING SELECTION-SET 'ZZZ'.
where 'ZZZ' is my variant .
the problem here is I can not change the values dynamically in my RFC. All the values in 'zzz' variant are predefined.
HOw to achive this ...

If you want to pass parameters dynamically without using a static variant, you can do the following.
In this example, P_1, P_2, P_3, S_1, S_2, S_3 are the names of the parameters/select-options in the submitted program. PA_1, PA_2, PA_3, SO_1, SO_2, SO_3 are fields in your RFC that can be built dynamically.
* Lets say that S_1 in the submitted program is a date
* range. We want to pass a seven day range starting
* today.
ranges: SO_1 for sy-datum.
SO_1-sign = 'I'.
sO_1-option = 'BT'.
SO_1-low = sy-datum.
SO_1-high = sy-datum + 7.
append SO_1.
SUBMIT ZRPT_MM_045 EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY
 WITH P_1 = PA_1
 with p_2 = PA_2
 with p_3 = pa_3

Therefore I think if you look up the application in the WD content Admin, there you can find out what kind of JCO/RFC connections are belonging to it. You can find it on http://<host>:<port>/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcwdtools/Explorer
Browse your application here, and then select the JCO Connections tab on the right hand side.

How to use two RFC models in one Data Source for a Interactive Form UI Elem

I want to use two RFC models (two Function Modules from a SAP Backend system) in one context node of a View Controller in order to pass it as the data source to a Interactive Form UI element. Can I use the data binding mechanism directly or have I to copy the data into a Value Node within the view controller.

You can create a local context node in component controller and copy the data from both the RFC's to this node, then bind it to the view controller. Then you can make this view context node as the datasource of the interactive form.

Problem in displaying a field in webdynpro using Adaptive RFC model

HI,
I created a webdynpro application using adaptive RFC model and i have a problem in displaying one of the output fields.
When i execute the function module it is giving the exact value for my output field in this case telephone number (of type STEXT which is char with length 40).But when i am trying to display that telephone number in webdynpro application it is taking only first 4 digits.
i deleted the model and recreated it still it doesnot work.
please let me know how to resolve it.

Hi Bala,
Whenever you reimport the model server restart is necessary otherwise the changes will not get reflected. You will get an error when you deploy the application.There is no go around except restarting the server as the meta data gets cached in the server as long as the server is runnig.So, Once you restart the server the cache will be cleared.
Check once again whether you are fetching data from correct BAPI field. Still problem persist try debugging.

How do I get the count of records in a data block after the EXECUTE_QUERY?
If I want to manually insert or update records into the table from the datablock how do I loop thru' records in the block.?
Also for 'WHERE' clause of update statement is there anyway to tie up the rowid to the current row in the form.

For the second question :
Set the properties of block to be INSERT_ALLOWED=FALSE,UPDATE_ALLOWED=FALSE, next do:

How to loop and add multiple records from db in .pdf using cfdocument

I have a query that pulls a users information (Id, FirstName,
LastName, Title,etc). I then use cfdocument to output a person's
biography into a pdf. This is great, because we no longer have to
manually create bios, as they are now all dynamically generated.
The problem I have now is that we want to be able to select
multiple users and create a .pdf with each of their bios included
in the one pdf.
How do I loop thru records from a sql database in a
cfdocument that includes a header and footer in cfdocument items,
and ensure that one persons bio doesn't continue on the page with
anothers.
Here's the code I have so far for the cfdocument:

Put the query around just the body of your cfdocument not
around the whole cfdocument tag. Also, move any query information
out of the header and put that in the body of the document. Lastly,
put a cfdocumentitem pagebreak after each bio...you will need to
check the recordcount of the query against the row you are on so
that you don't add an empty page break at the end.

Error in Import Adaptive RFC Model

Hi SDN,
I am trying to develop an application using Import Adaptive RFC Model, while creating a model i could not able to connect to the backend system after giving the single server parameters. When i click on the next button a pop up is displayed with an error message *"User Name or Password wrong" *.
But i could able to login to R/3 with the same userid and password from SAP logon pad.
Really i am at Six and Seven's to trace out this error. Please suggest me how to overcome this error and create the model succesfully.

I have right clicked the model node to create a model and given the model name,package name,model data and metadata names and clicked next button. Then in the next screen

After entering the required details either in Single Server or Load balancing and clicked the next button I could not able estabilish a connection to the backend R/3 and get the list of Bapi's or RFc's. Instead i am getting a pop up message "User Name or Password Wrong". I could not able to proceed from here.
But with the same above parameters i could able to logon to R/3 from SAP Logon Pad. I have tried by giving the user name in Cap's and small letters but no use.
As i was strucked at the intial step while creating the model but not during the execution of the program, as far as my knowledge is concerned i think we no need to worry on SLD or JCO connections during the creation of the model. Please correct me if i am wrong and suggest me to rectify the error.

or is it in a single model we can include the all the above functionalities ?

It all depends on application to application and requirements better to consult with functional guys or team lead what exectly they want to implement .All could be possible with RFC or EJB , some alternatives are
1. serach for the country : For this standard java API is there which populate all country (no need any rfc or ejb)
2.display the bank lis for the above country : (Check if there any webservices for this or create manually value help for this , even if u will use the RFC abaper guys will do the same )
3.display the bank details of the selected bank in the step no : step 2 will solve this also with one additional field i.e address and details.
I hope you agree with the point that stand alone WD app can do these all thing without any model.

Using an Adaptive RFC Model from JSP

I'm trying to use an Adaptive RFC Model I created for use in our Web Dynpros from a Portal Application project. I've created 2 DCs:
1. A Web Dynpro DC, only containing the imported Adaptive RFC Model. The model has been added to the public parts.
2. A Portal Application DC, with the model DC added as a DC usage (along with the other required DCs)
Now, everything appears to work from inside NWDS. The dot operator works while editing my JSPDynPage class, and everything builds fine, but when I deploy and test in the portal, I get "package not found" errors on the actual JSP. I assume this is because the JSP is compiled at run-time. How do I expose these classes to the JSP compiler?
It's seems like using the same method to call BAPIs in Web Dynpros and Java iViews would be a good practice following SAP's "reusable code" policy, so there must be a way to do it...

Adaptive RFC Model works correctly only when running inside WebDynpro container. JSP runs outside container (in regular J2EE WebApplication container).
The error you receive is due to missing run-time references to container classes.
Actually, what you are trying to do is dead end, sorry.
Use SAP Enterprise Connector instead of Adaptive RFC model. Generated connector classes works from any environment. Also they are sooo similar to Adaptive RFC that you'll even not mention a difference.
