How to use two RFC models in one Data Source for a Interactive Form UI Elem

Hi
I want to use two RFC models (two Function Modules from a SAP Backend system) in one context node of a View Controller in order to pass it as the data source to a Interactive Form UI element. Can I use the data binding mechanism directly or have I to copy the data into a Value Node within the view controller.

You can create a local context node in component controller and copy the data from both the RFC's to this node, then bind it to the view controller. Then you can make this view context node as the datasource of the interactive form.

Assuming you mean you wish to continue using Palm Desktop or M$ Outlook to sync your data to your new Pre phones, you should review this stickied thread near the top of this board. It discusses several third-party solutions for continuing to use desktop synchronization instead of using a Google account. Note, these solutions sync directly to the Pre's contacts and calendar databases, rather than synchronizing with the Classic application, which as mentioned above is also an option.
However, the two Chapura products (Echo for Palm Desktop and Pocketmirror for Outlook) only have the capability of synchronizing one assigned user name per desktop. In other words, at least the last time I looked, they don't allow you to sync multiple separate phones with the same desktop without going into the Windows registry and changing it.
If not, are people comfortable with their data being "out there" on Google's servers?
Can't speak for everyone, but I am comfortable with my stuff on Google.
Finally, if you have two devices for your family can you sync both devices to one data source?
You can easily do this with Google, by one of two ways I think: either setting up each family member's account separately, directly on your device, or by sharing the Google calendars in your own google.com account.

Using Oracle BI Server as a Data Source for Third Party Tools

I have been researching how to use the Oracle BI Server as a data source for two days now. I have not yet found a solution to my problem.
We have a remote user who is pulling data from one of our Oracle databases using automated tools. This data base is essentially being replaced by Oracle Analytics. However, we do not want this user to get at the physical tables of Analytics, rather, we want the user to be able to connect to the Oracle BI Server itself, and issue Logical SQL to pull data.
Here are the requirements which I need to be fulfilled:
1) The ability for a remote user to connect to the BI Server as a data source.
2) The remote user must be able to do this on a Unix box.
3) The remote user must be able to automate the process of issuing SQL to the BI Server. (Command line interface is preferable)
4) The solution needs to be easily implementable, that is, this solution will be implemented many times over.
I found many articles explaining how to set up a Windows box to connect to the BI Server in this way. However, these articles outline how to use tools like Excel and Microsoft Query to pull data from the BI Server. Our current user is using SQLplus.
If possible, I would like the user to continue using SQLplus as the tool for connecting to and retriving information from our BI Server. I have tested using SQLplus many different ways to no avail. I have also tried using other tools, such as Oracle SQL Developer.
Is there a program out there that will fulfill the needs I have outlined above? Or, does someone know of a way to use SQLplus to connect to the Oracle BI Server as a data source? Or, is there a series of solutions which will fulfill the needs outlined above?

I agree it would be inefficient but only because you are using OBIEE for something it was not designed to do. You are basically asking for a "DB feed" and that should designed using PL/SQL, DB Links, Web Services or whatever is your entreprise standard to send data from one system to another. Using OBIEE for this seems a bad architecture decision to me.You are correct, the BI Server is not really intended to be queried like another Oracle Database remotely. However, the reason we are trying to do it this way is twofold:
1) We want to enforce data level security.
2) The BI Server has been fine tuned for high performance.
Forcing the end users to go through the BI Server rather than directly to the physical tables or other sorts of systems built on top solves both of these issues.
I think you are wrong. I don't see why SQLPlus should be able to query the BI Server. The BI Server can sit on top of many different DBs not just Oracle, even flat files etc. So you can't really expect the BI Server to able to translate all that into Oracle SQL output so you can query it using SQLPlus. The BI Server is not an Oracle RDBMS.You're right again. The BI Server isn't an Oracle RDBMS, and I have been wanting to treat it like one. From the data I have gathered SQLPlus can't query the BI Server.
However, my research has led me to realize that the BI Server supports the JDBC API. Therefore, (I should have went down this route in the first place) one can use the JDBC driver provided by Oracle (bijdbc14.jar) to interface with the BI Server. There are many programs and applications out there that support the JDBC API and let us connect to BI Server the way we want to. Furthermore, these programs are mostly platform independent, as they are mostly written in Java.
Lastly, from what I understand the NQCMD program can be installed on any platform as well (provided by Oracle). This is another option to connect to the BI Server as well.

Using an SAS2008 Cube as a data source for BI Publisher errors

Hi All,
I am trying to use a SAS 2008 cube as a data source for a report in BI Publisher. When I defined the data source under the admin section I gave it the following details:
Data Source=ntsasqa01;Provider=msolap.3;Initial Catalog=WWPR_SMG
With a username / password that has access to the cube.
When I try and test the connection the OC4J instance stops running and the test does not finish or error. If I use the data source and then setup a report and then try and view data I get an error like the one below:
/app/oracle/OracleBI/xmlp/XMLP/Admin/DataSource/msmdacc.dll ( 0509-022 Cannot load module /app/oracle/OracleBI/xmlp/XMLP/Admin/DataSource/msmdacc.dll.
0509-103 The module has an invalid magic number.)
I am not sure if the error is related to the initial issue of not being able to complete the test.
I need to find a solution though as I have to make use of MDX to access the cubes.
Please could someone give me some advice.

1. SAS cubes are not currently supported - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10417.pdf. Unless SAS cubes can use the MS drivers?
2. If you try and pursue it you might check the permissions on the ddll in the error to ensure you have rights over it.
Either way you are not supported with a SAS cube so you are kinda on your own. Sorry I dont use SAS so Im not going to be much help other than stating the obvious :0)

Using an XML file as a data source for XI in NW CE 7.1 DS

I am trying to set up a simple demonstration of XI capabilities by grabbing an XML file from one location and putting the data into WEI in and ISA 95 format. I have set up my XML file (and schema) as an XML Data Source under ODA Data Sources. However, I cannot seem to find how to access the data in my JEE application. I was going to build a JPA file, but cannot seem to map the field data.
I want to create a component in either WebDynPro or CAF perspectives that will utilize the XML file as input. I cannot find any examples either in SAP Support or by Google. Any ideas?

OK - I got this working but in order to do this I followed some info from another post and changed the structure of the XML.
Previously, it was structured as:
<params>
<param>
<name>Test1</name>
<value>Some Value</value>
</param>
<param>
<name>Test2</name>
<value>Some Value2</value>
</param>
</params>
Now I have changed it to:
<params>
<param name="Test1" value="Some Value" />
<param name="Test2" value="Some Value2" />
</params>
I also added the dod=true value into the JDCB url.
Now, one of these circumstances fixed my issue (of which I am very glad) but I don't know which one :-) .... and I currently don't have the time to find out.
I may investigate this further in the future (and post accordingly).

I have 1.3, 1.5, and 1.6 installed here. You can install them wherever you like, and use the %JAVA_HOME% system variable to point your tool(s) to the desired one that you wish to use.

How to use two audio souces in one multicam clip

I have a three cameras, and an additional audio source. Making the multicam clip with of the four elements was easy, however I would like to use both the audio from two different sources at the same time. Is this possible? I know about switching the audio from one source to the other, but in some cases, I have talent on stage left and on stage right, and I need the audio pick up from both regardless of the video angle.

You can do it this way.
In the multicam select audio to left clip.
Then find the right clip, detach its audio, take its audio & align it to the multicam clips.
This way you have audio from let & right

I cant seem to find this information on the internet yet so I figured I would ask my question here.
I would like to pull data from a Dynamics AX sql database to use in a project siena app. I have heard that this is something that is planned for a future release of Siena but is there any way this can be done currently?

Are SSAS 2012 BI Tabular Semantic Models supported as data source for Cognos 10?

As the title states, I need to have an official answer and if possible a URL stating the same. We're implementing a Tabular Semantic Model with SQL Server 2012 SP1 and SharePoint 2013 SP1 and since Power View doesn't support iOS (primarily managers
consuming reports & dashboards with their iPads) at least not on-premises just yet, I understand that's fully supported in Office 365 with Power BI, unless this has changed lately, we're forced to find out alternative solutions and since
our customer has Cognos 10 already deployed, it's critical to know whether it provides some level of support or if there's any workaround to support iOS with the current deployment perhaps?

Unfortunately having access to SSRS alone isn't good enough, our customer absolutely loves Power View but the fact that isn't supported for iOS is a huge drawback. I've seen this requirement in Microsoft Connect several times drawing a lot of attention,
and now it appears closed, any chance you know what's the current status?

Use two different Bapis into one interactive form

Hello. I'm creating a form in which I need the result from two different bapis, but the interactive form element in the layout of the view allows me only one data source node.
The form i want to create is one in which appears some data from one employee (so I use BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETDATA). The problem is that I also want to show the qualifications shown as result of the BAPI_QUALIFIC_GETLIST bapi. Those qualifications should correspond to the employee.
I have one solution in my mind. That one is: I could create a node containing the structure with all the elements I need from the two bapis. Then I could copy there the results from the context nodes that are mapped to the bapis.
I believe this is a common situation. Not only to my specific example but to many other forms.So, I think there should be a way to do it without programming it myself. Or perhaps a better solution than mine. My worry comes to my mind because all the facilities Web Dynpro and LifeCycle offer to create interactive forms and common web applications.

There is one and only one data sink for an interactive form and that is the data source node for you. There is no possibility that we can define a second or third datasource node for our application. Having the above statement in mind, the only way we can fulfill our requirement is to have a common parent node as the datasource node which in turn may have any number of nodes (in your case you would probabaly think of segregating the results from two BAPIs to map to two different nodes). A third node can be added tomorrow if you need so.
The solution that you have mentioned will also work equally good. In your approach you will have all the related information will be contained within one node. Fair enough.
Its a matter of how do you want to best represent your data structure.

Crystal Report using a Web Service as a data source?

I am trying to figure out how to use a Web Service as a data source in Crystal Reports. When I use the report wizard, I do not see an option to select Web Service as a new connection. We are currently using Crystal Reports 2008 v12.1.0.892. Could it be that my version does not support this? Is there an update that contains this feature? Please help.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I do not see a radio button for Web Services. I've read that it should be there too. Could it be a missing plug-in or patch?

Stored Procedure used as a data source for an Apex report

Just wondering whether anyone has used a Stored Procedure as the data source for an Apex report. An option to select Stored Procedures(s) as the data source does not appear within the IDE (only displays Table, Views, Functions).
Do you have to return the definition of the Stored Procedure via a function ... if so, how is this done ?

If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.

When asking a question about "reports" it's firstly essential to differentiate between standard and interactive reports. Standard reports can be based on tables, views, SQL queries, or PL/SQL function blocks that return the text of a SQL query. Interactive reports can only be based on a SQL query.
"Stored Procedures" are therefore not an option (unless you are using the term loosely to describe any PL/SQL program unit located in the database, thus including functions). What would a procedure used as the source of a report actually do? Hypothetically, by what mechanisms would the procedure (a) capture/select/generate data; and (b) make this data available for use in an APEX report? Why do you want to base a report on a procedure?
