How to maintain trend info on CITADEL SQL Query

Hi All,
I'm using ms excel via ODBC connection to extract data from CITADEL via SQL queries. In LabVIEW DSC Module there are an option in the function "Read Historical Traces" thats maintain trend info of tag if no data is recorded in the selection time.
When i try to get CITADEL data via SQL if no data is recorded in that period the result is a blank column. How to maintain trend info or in this case?

Hi,
Version control is there for tables in oracle, but i don't think it is available for plsql code. Best method will be to use the third party software. Using Flashback DB you can try source control certain extent.

How to Suppress The Output of a SQL Query In Oracle 11gR2

I am using oracle version 11.2.0.1, I have set a cronjob which will run on every 15 minutes and give us a log file mentioning the execution time taken for that SQL query:-
For example:

How would that even be useful?
A query from a tool such as sql*plus is STILL going to send the output to the client and the client. You can keep sql*plus from actually displaying the data by setting autotrace to trace only.
But that TIME TAKEN is still going to include the network time it takes to send ALL rows that the query returns across the network.
That time is NOT the same as the actual execution time of the query. So unless you are trying to determine how long it takes to send the data over the network your 'timing' method is rather flawed.
Why don't you tell us WHAT PROBLEM you are trying to solve so we can help you solve it?

Hi Niels,
As I'm sure you know, the conundrum is that Reports doesn't know how many total pages there will be in the report until it is all done formatting, which is too late for your needs. So, one classical solution to this problem is to run the report twice, storing the total number of pages in the database using a format trigger, and throwing away the output from the first run when you don't know the total number of pages.
Alternatively, you could define a report layout so that the number of pages in the output is completely predictable based upon, say, the number of rows in the main query. E.g., set a limit of one, two, ... rows per page, and then you'll know how many pages there will be simply because you can count the rows in a separate query.

How to pass a variable for a SQL query in OLEDB source?

I am new to SSIS and working on it past few days. Can anyone please help me getting through a scenario where I need to pass a variable in the SQL statement in OLEDB source connection. Please find below for the details.
eg:
1) I have a SQL table with the columns SerialNumber, Name, IsValid, FileName with multiple rows.
2) I have the file Name in a variable called Variable1.
3) I want to read the data from my SQL table filtering based on the FileName (Variable1) within a data flow task and pull that data to the destination table.
Question: In the data flow task, added source and destination DB connection with a script component in between to perform my validations. When trying to retrieve the data from source using the variable (i.e. SQL Query with variable), I am not able to add
the query as the SQL statement box is disabled. How to filter the data based on the variable in the source DB ?
Any help/suggestions would be of great help.

How to replace a dates on a SQL query on Visual Studio (and get the query to work in there in the first place)?

I've just been assigned a report-related project but I have not created much of anything in C# or .Net before!
I was wondering if someone could help me get started. Here are the specifications:
Basically, I am to create an automated report application. I have the query and I will include it further down
in this post. The page is to have a couple blanks to specify the Start Date and End Date and replace those dates in the query, and generate the report. What I need some help on is how to make the SQL query work in the application which I will connect to the
intended database to generate the report (basic I know, but I'm new at this) on Visual Studio 2010. I also need some help on programming the Start Date blank and End Date blank so that what the user types in for those blanks will replace the date fields in
the SQL query, then generate the report with the new dates.

Does it generate a table with the data between specified dates? If so, where is the table shown?
Where does one enter in the specified start and end dates on the Web Application? Do I have to create start and end date blanks and link them to the code for it to work?

How to replace variable value of a sql query dynamically

Hi all,
Trying to execute sql queries present in Oracle table and the query it self contains the ODI variable #EMP_NO.
At the run time we thought of passing the variable values.
table contains query like
update table <table name> set <column name>= 5000 where emp_no = #EMP_NO
We need to execute the sql query using a ODI procedure, to pick the sql query from table we use another variable #varSQLID and in the command on source tab wrote like
select sql_query varSQL from emp_sql where query_id=#varSQLID
Command on target

when ever I tried to execute I am getting error please let me know what changes are required .
The question is whether it's possible to replace the variable value present in the above sql ?

Actually we have been doing the same, means half of the query has been kept in the table and rest is being added in the " command on source " tab of the procedure .
But the problem is , the "where" condition is not same for all SQL queries,
to provide 27 different sqls queries for 27 packages we have to create 27 procedures (as "where" condition may take other column values along with "EMPNO" for the JOIN condition ) .
Any suggestion of keeing SQL along with the variable and storing it in the table may resolve our problem and work of 27 procedures can be performed by a single procedure .

How to pass a value into a SQL Query?

Hi There,
I want to know if there is a possibility to pass a dynamic value in a sql query. For example I have a currency rate value (ex: rate = 1.319, 2.23 etc) which user wants to input when running the query (The rate is not taken from the system, so I cannot compare to any table column and pass it as a parameter).
And this rate has to be used in my query to do some calculation. Is this possible? The value :p_currency_rate doesn't work

Query to pull all the current configured Scripts
select MasterScriptID,EnterpriseName from Master_Script
Step 3:
Once we get both the data, we can use Excel’s VLOOKUP functionality to find the unused Scripts

How to maintain Purchasing Info Record

Hi All,
Here i am facing one problem how to implement the below requirements in SAP.
I have got a quotation from my vendor like below
1-5 pcs per run                US$ 200 per run
6 - 9 pcs per run                US$ 350 per run
10 - 19 pcs per run                US$ 32 per pcs
20 -29 pcs per run                US$ 28 per pcs
30 pcs per run               US$ 25 per pcs
that means if my PO qty is in between 1 to 5 then my PO cost is 200$ & if my PO qty is 6 to 9 then my PO cost is 350$. Similary if my PO qty is in betwen 10 to 19 then my PO cost will be PO qty* 32$.
How i'll maintain my inforecord so that when i'll create Po for some qty it will trigger the correct value.

Goto ME12, click on conditions & there you will find a icon scales/slab rates fourth icon on top, click on that enter below qty.
5 US$ 200 per run
9 US$ 350 per run
19 US$ 32 per pcs
29 US$ 28 per pcs
30 US$ 25 per pcs
When ever PO qty lies in above slab price is picked accordingly.
NOTE : dont enter 1-5 or 6-9 just enter 5 & next value 9 system considers it as 1 to 5 & 6 to 9.

I want to measure the performance of a group of SQL queries to compare them, but i don't know how to do it.
Is there any application to do it?

You can use STATSPACK (in 10g its called as AWR - Automatic Workload Repository)
Statspack -> A set of SQL, PL/SQL, and SQL*Plus scripts that allow the collection, automation, storage, and viewing of performance data. This feature has been replaced by the Automatic Workload Repository.
