How to make a dialog in front of JFileChooser

I used to save a file, i use JFileChooser for this,
I want validate the selected file for existance i.e if a user selects a file which is already exists, i want to show a info message in front of JFilechooser dialog
i.e it must hide iff i give a new file name.
How can i make JFileChooser to visible even after selecting Save button, but what now actually happens is JFileChooser hides and my custom info message appears in parent frame.
How can i make JFileChooser as a parent of my dialog

Customize JFileChooser by inheriting it and do whatever you want

    I would like to know this also.....but it appears that there is not much you can do with an AWT FileDialog (not even moving it to the center of the screen).

  • How to Make Hair Appear in Front of and Behind an MC Object?

    Hello again,
      I am making a character with lots of hair. I would like to know how to make the hair appear both in front of and behind the Movie Clip object.
      I'll explain further. I have the "frontHair" connected to the "head" MC. When I pivot the head, a bare spot shows in an outlined shape of the arms/legs/torso. I thought I'd remedy this by making "hairBack" and then layer it behind the object. This opens up a can of troubles.
      I can't seem to get the "hairBack" to appear behind the torso and arms. Also, the "frontHair" is now blocking me from grabbing onto the arms and legs.
      It's crucial that this character has all of the hair, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it happen.
      Please, help!
    Thank you,
       Mike
    p.s. While returning from a beer run, I thought about masking. I'm still trying to work out the logic on this one.

    Thank you for replying. II didn't know which specific layers and objects you were referring to, but I figured out the problem I was having.
      I used only one newly created "hair" object and set it to "Guide" to get it out of the way (in a sense). I then selected all the body parts (movie clips) that I could and selected "Move to Front" for each one. I used the Selection Tool to move the head (with connected hair) out of the way. After doing this I was able to select the "torso"; which was previously hidden behind the Armature Layer. I then put the head back in place and I was set to roll.
      Ah, but then I encountered another error. My animations are set to 24fps, but they are moving at least 10 times slower. This happens within Flash and in the exported swf files.
    The topic deals with "text field variable names" errors and compiler errors dealing with "Symbol 'fps' ".

  • How to make Model Dialogs for erroe messages

    Sir
    iwant to make a Dialog or JOption Pane like a
    round rectangle with yellow background show the error messages
    in my application like xp messages when we entered a wrong
    password and also want to underline some text in it.
    how can i do this job plz help me

    Hello !
    If you need yellow background you need to create a subclass
    of JDialog.
    If you can be satisfied with a simpler dialog, then
    try this one:
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(parent, "An error occured", "Error", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);regards

  • How to make save dialog open up folder where document originates as default

    Hello
    I was wondering if there is a way to make save dialog open up the folder where document originates as default. I feel Like I am wasting a lot of unnecessary time navigating through menus saving certain documents.
    Example : I open an Excel document in a folder called 2009. I make some changes and then do a "save as" -- I want it to automatically bring me first to the folder where I opened it, not the last place where I saved to.
    I recall being able to set this preference in macs a looong time ago. Now I can't seem to find it. Thank for your help

    Rick,
    Sorry about the misgiving adresses, folders and access rights. My question is not about these three (they were just here to tell the story). You're perfectly right to say that in a local network, there's not need to complete the full IP or ".com" name of the PCs (even if it works all the same).
    When I said "of course" for the perms, it was just to mean, in the same way, that it's not this kind of problems here.
    My question is much more a human/mac graphic interface problem than a network problem. I want the people (as well as myself) to be able to go in a folder on the pc network with a simple click on an smb link in an email message (as they do now on an ftp or afp link).
    Thanks for the bother,

  • How to make some part of front panel transparent?

    There is a property node to make a front panel completly transparent...but is there anything that only makes some part of the vi transparent like if I define a decorative block in the vi which takes 1 quardant of front panel and I have a control to make it transparent during runtime...
    And moreover the frontpanel transparent property makes the whole window transparent, is there any way to retain toolbar of window like stop, run button when front panel is transparent??

    Hi,
    Have a look at this VI (attached). To make it work you need to create an image mask as a .png (open paint, colour in the areas that you want to become invisible and save it as a .png). The VI diffentiates between white areas and black areas of the mask you create, the black areas will become transparent and the white areas will remain the same- this will be implemented on your front panel. I've included an example of a possible paint image in "mask2.png".
    You may also want to play around with the resolution of the mask created in paint, this will effect how the program works (I advise you use a lower resolution than your display- I used 500x300)
    NT: If the front panel controls disappear, go into the block diagram window and attach a false constant instead of a control. Let me know if this works
    Cheers, Tom

  • How to make yellow dialog box not come up when I mouse over tabs?

    I hate the little small yellow background colored dialog box that pops up when you mouse over tabs on Firefox on Mac.
    The reason why this is an in convenience on the Firefox in Mac is when a dialog box comes up and you minimize Firefox the dialog box stays there on the screen, so you have to bring Firefox to the front and then mouse over it til the box go's away, and then finally you can minimize Firefox without having the dialog box stay on your screen.
    To negate this problem I want to know if their is a way for me to disable that dialog box from coming up at all. It also comes up when I mouse over my all in one sidebar add on and I have noticed it when you mouseover links on certain sites, like in Pandora when I am mousing over the different artists in my list the little box comes up, again it's not needed and very annoying.

    you must modify '''browser.chrome.toolbar_tips'''
    type in the address bar '''about:config'''
    then press the button''' i'll be careful i promise'''
    then type in the bar '''browser.chrome.toolbar_tips'''
    then '''Double-click''' on it, to make it''' false'''
    exit firefox and restart-it.
    See for more info : [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.chrome.toolbar_tips Browser.chrome.toolbar tips ]

  • How to make use of the front camera on E71?

    Is there a way to make it useful for something while not on a video call?

    I can't speak for the E71 but some models (like my N8) have the option to capture pictures/video using the front camera so it could be used as a mirror.
    If the E71 has this option open the camera app, press options - "use secondary camera". If the option isn't there then it doesn't have the feature. You may be able to find third party apps that offer the feature by searching google.

  • How to make a remote panel file dialog open remote directory from any computer

    Hello to everybody. I am using Labview 6.1 and I would like to know how to make a remote panel file dialog open remote directory from any computer (Not only from a specific computer. If I open the file with a specific computer, I have to conect the path of the remote machine, but if I don´t know which remote computer is going to run the aplication, how can I do it?)?

    Hi!
    first you have to know progammatically the name of the remote pc connected to your server: this is a problem!
    I did not find a straigth way, LV 6.1 doesn't allow much progammatic control on the remote panel connection feature, but I'm confident that in the next LV version this will be improved!
    The point is that the Remote Panel Connection Manager (from the Tools menu) has all the informations about the connection: client name, server vi and whatever.
    This application is embedded in the \PROJECT\REMOTEPANEL.LLB and consists of a set of password protected vis.
    So here's the trick: use VIServer to grab data from the rpcm Get Server Data.vi when the Remote Panel Connection Manager is in run mode. By this you get all the informations (not only client name)o
    f the remote panel connection. See my example.
    By the way use client machine name to build the file dialog function input path.
    If anybody has an alternative method it would be more than appreciated to share it.
    Good luck,
    Alberto Locatelli

  • How we can make CQ dialog box movable on page like sidestick?

    Hello All,
    How we can make CQ dialog box movable on page like sidestick.
    Should we have to use any property for that.
    Please tell me if any onw know this ticks.
    Thanks a ton in advance...
    Regards,
    Satish

    You could use dialogMode property configured under cq:editConfig node.
    dialogMode : floating
    http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/developing/components.html
    This should make your component dialog float and be movable.

  • JDialog Problem: How to make a simple "About" dialog box?

    Hi, anyone can try me out the problem, how to make a simple "About" dialog box? I try to click on the MenuBar item, then request it display a JDialog, how? Following is my example code, what wrong code inside?
    ** Main.java**
    ============================
    publc class Main extends JFrame{
    public Main() {
              super();
              setJMenuBar();
              initialize();
    public void setJMenuBar()
         JMenuBar menubar = new JMenuBar();
            setJMenuBar(menubar);
            JMenu menu1 = new JMenu("File");
            JMenuItem item = new JMenuItem("About");
            item.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae) {
                  // About about = new About(this);
               // about.show();
            menu1.add(item);
         menubar.add(menu1);
    public static void main(String args[]){
         Main main = new Main();
    }** About.java**
    =============================
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class About extends JDialog{
         JPanel jp_top, jp_center, jp_bottom;
         public About(JFrame owner){
              super(owner);
              setDefaultCloseOperation( DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE );
              Image img = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(DateChooser.class.getResource("Duke.gif"));
              setIconImage( img );
              setSize(500,800);
              Container contentPane = getContentPane();
             contentPane.setLayout(new BorderLayout());
             contentPane.add(getTop(), BorderLayout.NORTH);
              contentPane.add(getCenter(), BorderLayout.CENTER);
              contentPane.add(getBottom(), BorderLayout.SOUTH);
              setResizable(false);
               pack();
               setVisible(true);
         public JPanel getTop(){
              jp_top = new JPanel();
              return jp_top;
         public JPanel getCenter(){
              jp_center = new JPanel();
              return jp_center;
         public JPanel getBottom(){
              jp_bottom = new JPanel();
              jp_bottom.setLayout(new BoxLayout(jp_bottom, BoxLayout.X_AXIS));
              JButton jb = new JButton("OK");
              jp_bottom.add(jb);
              return jp_bottom;
    }

    Code looks reasonable except
    a) the code in the actionPerformed is commment out
    b) the owner of the dialog should be the frame
    If you need further help then you need to create a "Short, Self Contained, Compilable and Executable, Example Program (SSCCE)",
    see http://homepage1.nifty.com/algafield/sscce.html,
    that demonstrates the incorrect behaviour, because I can't guess exactly what you are doing based on the information provided.
