How to make a macron in Pages '09? (a straight line over a letter)

Does anyone know how to do a macron (you know a letter with a straight line indicating a long vowel) over a letter in Pages? I am using Hoeffler font, and I can't figure it out. I could really use some help.

+Menu > Edit > Special Characters > Punctuation+
Or for as you type:
+Apple > Menu > Systems Preferences > International > Input Menu > U.S. Extended Keyboard or Maori+
then close the panel.
In Finder on the upper menubar, click on the +American flag icon > select "U.S. Extended" or "Maori"+
Then to get the macron type first the "dead keys" +option with a" then the character you want the macron over.
The macron may or may not actually be in Hoeffler, but OSX should find it from a font that does have it, which may give you an odd character in the middle of your text depending how closely they match.

Hi
One you execute FAGLL03, go to Settings>Layout>Current Header Rows
You can add some predefine characteristics here.
I am not sure why the hyperlink is not working at your end. But you can search the SDN for special fields in FAGLL03 and you can get lot of posts for this document.

How to make my dynamic form pages flow correctly?

I have created a dynamic form which has multiple questions with expandable text fields that will take multiple pages once completed. I do not know how to make the form flow correctly past the first page. I can attach the form if I knew how to do that.

I am new to fluid grid layouts in Dreamweaver cs6, I want to insert a GIF file on my index page but I do not know how to make it so when the page shrinks the GIF or image shrinks as well. The only code that I have found is

You could jump start the process with an Avery MS Word 8-up business card template as a free download. Either version of Pages will digest it nicely. Once you load it into Pages, do a File > Save As Template.. , add it to Chooser, and give it your name choice. Both versions of Pages will remove the printer registration marks in all four template corners. The free LibreOffice Writer retains them.

How to make shapes appear behind page header/footer in Pages '09

In a Pages (v4.0.2) page layout document, I'm trying to make a gradient as the page background. Since there's no built-in way to do this (as far as my googling shows), I've tried what others have suggested:
1. Create a new shape and resize it so it fills the entire page
2. Go to Arrange > Send to Back
3. There's no step three!
This work great for most of the page. However, the page header and footer are always hidden by the shape, and I can't find a way to get them to lay +in front+ of the shape. How can I get the background shape behind the header & footer?

How to make font larger in Pages?

I just got my first iPhone, the 4s. v 7.1.1. I'm familiar with Pages on the iMac…but Pages for the iPhone - I can see how to change text that's already been written, but how do you choose the font size before starting the document? In the document manager, I'm selecting "Blank", to start. Once I start typing, the font is big enough to read, but to just open and read the document would be impossible, it's that tiny.
Also, in Document Manager, the document titles are totally impossible to read, and I cannot find a way to change their fonts.
I'm probably (I hope), overlooking something really obvious, but I'd sure appreciate any help

I'd seen that, but thought it was about editing, because I had looked at the Apple page which describes the app, pointing out the great location of the format bar, right above the keyboard - which it isn't, on mine. So I thought I'd missed something.
Ok so apparently you have to enter some text, highlight it, make the change, then the text you enter following that will be the size you chose. I see on that page too that someone mentioned "save as" - I have no Save As, I have "Done" after I've edited as above, and when I'm back in my document, the only choice I can see is "Documents" to take me back to the Documents Manager page, where it's saved. There, I can "Edit" and "Rename" documents, but I can't find a way to increase the font size for the names, and they're unreadable.

I'm not exactly sure what you have so I'm going to try again with pictures.
Go to this page & you will see this. Click Download Now. Do not go to the developer page - it hasn't been working for some time.
When the download is completed you will see a file that looks like this in your downloads location.
Double-click that file to mount the disk image & again double-click the mounted image that looks like this.
A window will open & you will see several things including the CocoaBooklet.app that looks like this.
Drag this icon to your Applications folder. You may then eject the mounted disk image. Now you have CocoaBooklet installed.
Perhaps you could post a picture of what you have. This new forum software makes posting pictures quite easy. Click the camera icon above the text box in a reply to get started.

How to make a interactive colouring page in Edge Animate?

For a University project, I have the task of creating a kids' colouring book. It'll contain some other pages than just colouring, but my lecturer suggested Edge Animate to me. It's for an iPad e-book so it can't contain any flash as flash doesn't work on mobile devices.

You are basically just changing the background color of each shape...
Remember the shapes that you color are limited to the shapes you can create in Edge.....
Although basically there are only circles and rectangles you can see that I was able to manipulate shapes to make a star.

How To make certain that a page is removed from memory, silverlight

I have a big solution with several branches. These branches was tested individually for errors and memory issues, using VS profiler and debugger. A final solution was found that at highest with animations and music peaked to 100mb, of course high but should
not be an issue for Windows phone applications, even for low end devices. The branches was then collected to one main branch. A new test was run, and suddenly the memory spiked up towards 200mb and crashed on phones and emulators with out of memory exception.
We at the team then tried:

This was discussed on forums to help with page memory leakage, this however did not solve the issue. We therefore wanted to investigate if pages and other elements got deconstructed and GC.Collected. This we did by implementing deconstructors:

This confirmed our fears that the pages, popups and controls did not get garbage collected, even if we sat everything to null, or
set everything to private functions. Our code is implemented in a MVVM structure, we therefore looked to ViewModelLocator, and removed the servicelocator, as to force a new viewmodel creation for every page creation.
This showed that the viewmodels got garbage collected upon navigation, but the views and usercontrols did not. We therefore searched around for the issue and found some links that could help us, referring to IDisposable, we therefore tried with the following

This however only increased the memory usage by 20 mb, for every call to dispose. Which hopefully would mean that we have misunderstood the use of IDisposable.
Questions:
Therefore quite confused, I have learned from my similar question on Stackoverflow, that I should use the VS profiler more intently to find references, but I have not succeeded in finding anything with the profiler. And I do not understand why the
deconstructors are not fired when I know no references exists.
Therefore would it help to implement IDisposable and how should it be done in a windows phone Silverlight context?
Should I do something specific when I utilize the MVVM structure?Any proposals on how to force the deletion and how to do the deletion correctly?
Or is there some other way to go about it, to ensure that pages with all information is removed.

One way i can suggest is to use 'Using' statement(obviously if not already did that) wherever it is required to work with resources such as opening a connection to database, file operations etc. With this, the resources are disposed automatically as soon
as 'Using' block goes out of scope.

How to make a template in Pages that wraps to next page

I almost always use my Pages '09 in Layout mode. I have a long document that I supply to vacationers on Cape Cod of all the gluten free restaurants and food stores. It's 17 Pages long. Because places open or close I am doing adding and subtracting of listings all the time so this document is in word processing mode so it automatically reshuffles when I add new places.
I want to brand it a little bit more and each page is going to have a small graphic and one line on the edge that is horizontal (at bottom of page) and one line that is verticle at the left side of the page.
I can't figure out how to do this in Word Processing mode. I can't move the graphics around like I can in Layout mode. I can put them in text boxes and move them that way to the desired locations.
However, if I add text boxes the text isn't wrapping from one page to the next.
I really love Layout mode is there a way to get it to take the over flow of text from page one and put it in the text box on the next page automatically?
I'm not sure how to do this project and I hope someone can give me a quick answer!
