Do you need a color box because you want the user to pick a color or you want the vi to spit out a color? Or do you want the color box for some other reason?
If you want to make it open a color picker pallette, I don't know of a way. However you could always make a round decoration, make sure it is on the top layer and the refnum for it should be This VI.Panel.Decos[0], and then you can programmatically change it's color via a property node. See attached.

How to make a round border around my picture?

I am trying to design a logo that would fit into the center of a Frisbie, yet I cannot figure out how to make a round border around the picture. I have tried using the eliptical tool, and have also tried using the cookie cutter. The only option I can get to work with the eliptical tool, is the feather, yet I can't change the pixel number for some reason, so it just makes a thin circle around the picture. I thought I could cut and paste it, but the copy and cut options were grayed out and didn't work. When I used the cookie cutter, it made a nice border, and I pasted the picture into it, but, there are four sections that need to be filled in with the background color and the paintbucket didn't work in those spaces (they are the gray and white checked areas. (the picture ends up looking like a rectangle inside of a circle). So I made a new blank file and filled it in with the color of the picture's background, hoping to use the cookie cutter tool around the picture that was now pasted into the new blank file (I chose another color for the round border) and I used the cookie cutter around the picture, but when it was finished, the whole picture ended up being white. All I want to do is to make a border around a picture (a round border). Nothing I have done has worked though. What am I doing wrong, or what are some other options for trying to do this? Thanks.

Here is a simple way to add a border. Select the item, add a blank layer, choose the border size and color and the Outside option:

Note that you don't even need to do the Stroke on a blank layer. You can Stroke directly on the picture layer. However having the blank layer preserves the picture in case you want to start again with different Stroke options.
If this is not what you are looking to do, please clarify.

Round Color Box (Silver): Slows VI Server Access

I've attached two examples demonstrating the obervation. I first ran into this because I use a simple flags framework in some of my applications. If the flag name input is unwired, I auto-name the flag based on the calling VI name. So, I get a reference to the calling VI and determine a flag name respectively as you can see in the attachment.
The "Wait for Flag" primitive can be called in a loop as quickly as you like (limited by how long it takes to access the calling VI reference of course). So, I had an application where the consumer loop had to run in the 100+ Hz range and because the Round Color Box (Silver) was on the panel, I couldn't get this kind of performance. Switching to the Round Color Box (Modern) solved the issue (but doesn't look nearly as nice).
The "test color boxes_Rapidly Access VI Refnum" example below is a simplified version illustrating the problem. The "test color boxes_Wait for Flag" example better represents what I'm actually doing. Just unzip and run the "test color boxes_Rapidly Access VI Refnum" VI and follow the instructions on the panel.
Then, unzip and run the "test color boxes_Wait for Flag" VI for an actual use case.

The problem here is that the "Silver" style frame draws relatively slowly. In most cases, this isn't noticeable because LabVIEW doesn't need to redraw the frame when the value of a control or indicator changes. But, when the control is an element of an array, LabVIEW does redraw the entire control for each element value change.
So, for the time being, I'm afraid it's not advisable to use Silver controls (other than the "frameless" ones) as array elements.
You can see that it's the frames that are causing the slowdown by coloring them transparent so that they're invisible.
I'm embarrassed to mention this, but the coloring trick also shows that there's a workaround where you take a picture of the array of Silver color boxes, put it in the background, and then color the frames of the actual color boxes transparent. I'm not saying it to recommend it, just to say that it does get you something that looks the same without the performance problem.

I'm guessing you could subclass Slider to create a class SliderKnob.
At some stage in the process, not sure where (perhaps after calling super in the constructor), you could look up the slider region's child thumbnail and track and call setVisible(false) and setManaged(false) on them, create an ImageView for your knob, add the knob ImageView to the slider's region and bind the ImageView's rotateProperty to the slider's valueProperty(). Not sure that that is any better than using the SkinBase stuff, but at least it is an alternative idea.
Everything to create your own controls has not been added to the public API, so if you want to make your own controls in the same way the JavaFX does them (i.e. with Skin's and Behaviours and stuff like that) you have to make use of com.sun classes unless you can subclass and modify the workings of existing controls similar to what is proposed in the preceding paragraph.

How to make custom icc color profile work as default for all users?

I've calibrated two monitors for the machine running Mavericks OS X. I've managed to move these custom icc color profiles to ColorSync folder in HDD Library, so that that they are available for all the users. However, I cannot figure out how to make these icc profiles work as default profiles for all users and not only the one I used to calibrate monitors.
Is there a specific place I have to put custom icc profile to make it system default?

If you put the profiles in the root /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder, then each user needs to select them in their account. There isn't a way to apply them globally so each account automatically comes up that way.

If you want to keep "Save" and "Stop" common, Why do you want to keep them on Tab control? Is your tab control taking entire space on Front panel? If so, you can have SAVE and STOP on other vi, and you can call this vi (MODAL).

How to make the Text Color in Smartform

Hi All , I have couple of things.
1) I need to make text Red color for display in smartform.How can i go and display the text in the red color.
2) For the same text i need two languages.ie if the vendor is English then text need to be displayed in English .if the vendor is German then text need to be displayed in German.

For langauge translatios you have to use SE63 tcode.
You have to choose red color for u r u r character formats.
That changes you have to do in smart styles.
To do the changes in u r smart style go to form attributes.Double click on form attributes.
In style u will see u r smart style.
Double click on smart style.
There u can give u r desired character format.

How to make a button appear boxed in when clicked

For my Prototyping class I have to make an interactive fast food ordering system. I have majority of frames made I just need to add the interactive part to it. I am using AS2 in Flash CS3. I have the picture and the text grouped and are classified as a button. I want to make it so that when the picture or text is clicked it will make a black box appear around it, making it 'selected'. I've tried to add an Event Listener but couldn't figure out how to make the box appear on it. Any suggestions?
These pictures are basically what I'm trying to accomplish.
Keep in mind, I'm a Flash newbie, I have a probably 3 hours experience with Flash.
But I do have knowledge of basic Java commands, so I can understand code.

Onw way would be to create the buttons as movieclips so that when they are selected you move the movieclip's timeline to a rame that shows the rectangle around it. Another way would be to have the movieclips as separate objects that you make appears when its associated button is clicked. There are likelynumerous other possibilities.

How do I create multi colored boxes using CSS3

OS - Windows 7 using DW Cs5.5
I need to create a screen with lots of equally sized colored boxes with text colours that will be visible easily within them.
I have a class set up as follows:

How do I keep round cornered boxes when opening CS4 to CS4

I produce a lot of forms which have round cornered boxes within the text boxes, when opening these indesign CS4 files into CS5 the boxes lose all but one of the round corners. The only fix I can see is to manually adjust the boxes within CS5. Is there an easier way? or will an update improve this. I find this very frustrating as I only have about 700 forms produced which will all need to be fixed.

Well, Stix, I don't think they cater to small users with thousands of files. I'm sure that if my organization was buying hundreds of licenses for the full Creative Suite, and maybe LiveCycle Server, that they might be able to cater to me. But since we're only buying 1 license of the Suite and 4 of InDesign, then the fact that I have an archive of tens of thousands documents in forty languages going back to the early 90s that have to be updated on an intermittent basis, is not really high on Adobe's list of things about which it is important to care. My file management needs, while totally critical to me (and by extension the refugees I serve), aren't going to be that important to Adobe. They don't cater to me, and I can understand this, as I am not a big revenue stream for them.

However, the fact that it seems that only the forums regulars know these critical facts is a massive failing on Adobe's part. I fail to understand why this stuff that we post over & over again isn't pointed out to the users when they install ID, or when they open a file that was created in a previous version of ID. Seems like a mind-numbingly obvious case for one of those little checkboxes that says "Don't show me this again." Illy seems to handle this without issue.

As Bob has already pointed out... yeah. It's impractical, but it is also a solution.
In your shoes, I'd mention to your IT folk that your long-term IT plan should include keeping some old apps around in virtualization; that way when InDesign CS10 reflows your document created with CS6 when you just want to update a logo, you can just boot up your image of Windows 2012 End-Of-The-World-Edition without needing IT to help you out.

You need to define a set of link states (link, visted, hover, active) for each ID or class name required.
Let's say you want to have red links in your #header and white links in your #footer.

Not at all. They need extensive adjustments long before that - they are scanned wrongly to begin with (double-sided must be scanned against a black background), have fingerprints and whatnot. Once you have them cleaned up, converting to CMYK and cleaning up the colors is anotehr matter. Could be as easy as blanking out the yellow and magenta channels, could entail additiojnal extensive work. in any case, it won#t probably be automatic.

How to make Highlighted links color permanent?

Simply, for example, in Wikipedia, I clicked a link in their page to a different page, then that link would have been highlighted as "has been selected or clicked" with different color (in this case: purple), while links not have been clicked before are in blue.
The problem is after a few week, the links the I have previously visited before which should have been in purple turned blue again indicating that that I have not visited this link before (but I already have). This seemingly seems like the cache have been reseted or cleared. But I have not cleared any cache. This could also be that the cache is full but I have not set any limit on the amount of content.
So my question is, how do I ensure that the link that have been visited remain highlighted permanently for the font color so that I do not make the mistake of visiting the linked page again?

Note that your System Details List shows that you have obsolete, no longer supported, preferences from previous Firefox versions.
You can delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js and user.js files to reset all prefs to the default value or reset these prefs to the default value via the right-click context menu on the <b>about:config</b> page or edit the prefs.js file and remove related line(s).
Your System Details List also shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

Help! How to make background layer colored

Hi. I have been reading the help section but can't find my
answer. Hope someone can help me.
How do you make the background layer of an image COLORED?
Especially, how do you make the background a colored GRADIENT FILL?
For example, on layer #1 I have just an abstract design of shapes.
I want a background layer#2 to be a separate SOLID fill of color,
or a gradient fill.
The only way I have figured out how to remotely do this is if I draw
a rectangle, then stretch it out to edge of "canvas", then fill it w/color
but the edges never line up perfectly. Isn't there a better way? Thank you so much!

Really? Wow, well that is good to know then. I used to use
Illustrator yrs. ago and now I am kind of re-learning it. I just remembered-
couldn't one create a layer, then select the "paint bucket" tool, pick a color,
then fill a background that way? Maybe I am thinking of Photoshop....
