How to make a table of annual data from a table of quarterly data?

I've got a table of quarterly data. I'd like to create a table of annual data, where each cell has the sum of the four cells for the four quarters that make up a calendar year.
I can do this by pasting a formula into every 4th cell of a second column, but I'd really like a way that doesn't require so many paste operations. Also, when I try doing the same thing into a column that doesn't leave three blank cells, I don't get the annual totals I want (the totaling just moves down one cell, rather than four).
Two related questions:
Is there anyway to move my data so that the four quarters appear side-by-side in 4 columns? (Then the annualizing would be easy.)
Is there any way to take every 4th element from a column and put it somewhere?

I'm having trouble picturing what you have. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see a single column blocked off in groups of 4 cells. You don't mention them, but you must have additional columns with some sort of identifiers including quarter numbers and items? With this picture in mind let's go to your questions.

How can i convert the data from mutiple-table to the other database such as MS-SQL?
I have a third party system based on MS-SQL 2000.
Now we want to make a integration between SAP R/3(Oracle) and SQL server.
When my user releases the purchase order in R/3, the application we coded will convert the releated data to the temp database on the SQL server.
But i don't know which tools will help me reach the purpose. BAPI, LSMW, IDoc... ???
Would anybody tell me which way is better and how to do?

The question to use which method depend on your detail requirements. If you use BAPI, you need to find which Bapi can provide the data you want. Bapi normally use as a function called by external system. So you need to develop an external program like VB/Java to call this Bapi and move it to SQL. LSMW is use when you want to upload data from an external system to SAP. So it does not serve your requirement. Idoc can be use to export data to an external system. Again like Bapi, you need to find what Idoc can provide the data you want. However, it does not any programming from the external system. If I were you, based on your requirements, I think writing an Abap program that read the data you want and download it to NT/SQL server will be faster and easier.

As explained by Uwe, when we change a field ( say check box ) in ALV grid, the view (frontend) changes (showing the tick mark) but the changed data ( normally ) is not transfered to the backend.
We can initiate this data transfer by just registering the cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_evt_modified edit event

Hi rajesh,
It seems that you didn't click query data using storage emulator. But I recommend you could use the azure server explore in your VS to view your data and query data. Please see this document (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/ff683677.aspx).
And base on my experience, you may need input the command on Azure storage emulator, such as this page(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/gg433005.aspx).

Where that folder is located, its on presentation server i.e. desktop or application server.
If its on presentation server, use FM GUI_UPLOAD.
If its on application server, then use DATASET functions. Have a look at below link.

How to copy data from one table to another (in other database)

Hi. I would like to copy all rows from one table to another (and not use BC4J). Tables can be in various databases. I have already 2 connections and I am able to browse source table using
ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery("select ...");
But I would not like to create special insert statement for every row . There will be problems with date formats etc and it will be slow. Can I use retrieved ResultSet somehow ? Maybe with method insertRow, but how, if ResultSet is based on select statement and want to insert into target table? Please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Oracle supports different structures for data and indexes. A table can be a hash table or index organised table. It can have B+tree index. It can have bitmap indexes. It can be partitioned. Etc.
How the table implements its structure is a physical design consideration.
Application code should only deal with the logical data structure. How that data structure is physically implemented has no bearing on application. Does your application need to know what the indexes are and the names of the indexes,in order to use a table? Obviously not. So why then does your application need to know that the table is partitioned?
When your application code starts referring directly to physical partitions, it needs to know HOW the table is partitioned. It needs to know WHAT partitions to use. It needs to know the names of the partitions. Etc.
And why? All this means is increased complexity in application code as this code now needs to know and understand the physical data structure. This app code is now more complex, has more moving parts, will have more bugs, and will be more complex to maintain.
Oracle can take an app SQL and it can determine (based on the predicates of the SQL), which partitions to use and not use for executing that SQL. All done totally transparently. The app does not need to know that the table is even partitioned.
This is a crucial concept to understand and get right.

In PSA table, I found the some cancellation records for that particular records quantity would be negative for the same record value would be positive.
Due to this reason the quantity is updated to target but the values would summarized and got the summarized value of all normal and cancellation .

in deleting the records in PSA table difficult and how many you will the delete.
you can achieve the different ways.
1. creating the DSO maintain the some key fields it will overwrite the based on key fields.
2. you can write the ABAP logic deleting the duplicate records at info package level check with the your ABAPer.
3.you can restrict the cancellation records at query level.

I have a simple mapping to extract data from multiple tables as a source (A, B, C) to a target table (X). Below is the picture:

Scenarios:
1. Directly map from A, B, C to X. Unable to map with error message: "API8003: Connection target attribute group is already connected to an incompatible data source. Use a Joiner or Set operator to join the upstream data first before connecting it into this operator."
2. Map each source to Expression Operator and then map from each Expression to target table. I am able to map all attributes successfully but got error when validating it with message: "VLD-1104: Attributes flowing into TEST.EXPR_SRC.INGRP1 have different data sources."
How can I achieve the correct mapping for this purpose?
Use Joiner? I have no key to join the sources
Use Set? The sources have different number of columns

But it inspired me to solve this by adding key expression in each source table (B & C) to be joined to table A with this formula:
100+TRUNC(INGRP1.COLB1,-2)

Hi,
First you need to check if the tables are standard tables or custom tables. If they are standard tables check which extractors are using those tables.
If they are not being used by any of the standard extractors then you you need to create generic datasource for the same. The same hold true for custom tables as well. For custom tables, you'll need to create generic datasource. If you search the forum for generic datasources you'll get a lot of information.
Its very important that you understand the table relationships, data volumes, if delta is possible or not, data granularity, etc for your datasource design.

I think the query should look more like this:
SELECT stocks.SYMBOL, stocks.EXCHANGE
FROM STOCK as stocks, ExchangeStream [Now] as datastream WHERE stocks.SYMBOL = datastream.SYMBOL

How to bind the data from user table into user report

Hi All,
Please assist me to bind the data from user table into user report. I did create an user table with data and create a user report template (using Query Print Layout). How can I display my data into report format which I created before? Any sample program or document I can refer?
Platform: SAPB1 2005A

Thanks for your feed back. I give you an example.
Let say now i wanna print employee list, so i will go
1. Main Menu -> Reports -> HR -> Employee List
2. Choose the Selection Criteria -> OK
3. Matrix will display (Employee List)
4. I can print the report click on print button
5. Printing report
My target
1. Main Menu -> Eric_SubMenu -> Employee List
2. Matrix will display (Employee List)
3. Print button
4. Print report
My problem
Now I would like to use my own report format. My own report format means I wanna add on my logo or do some customization within the employee report. So how I am going to do? I only able to display the employee list in matrix. How do I create a new report format and display it.
