How to make a website?

I enable the "web" item in the server admin,
but I don't know where to put my webpage files,
Is there any step by step tutorial?

There are two pieces to this puzzle. If you want to access your website internally by a fully qualified domain name (mysite.domain.com) you need to configure your DNS with a CNAME record pointing to your server on which your website is hosted. If you want to access the site from outside your network, that's a whole other kettle of fish.

As a novice, some things I see: The footer has redundant, unecessary images (4 large images-for your services--REDUNDANT) odd? The text part of footer: text seems close, scrunched, have some space between heading and items, DO NOT CENTER TEXT!,
One of the service links bought to page with SAME LARGE image on homepage-change picture, don't use same large image for 2 different pages.
DO NOT use CONTACT US as 1 of 5 links on menubar. Do in another creative way, and/or use footer for contact. I think this looks amateurish (my opinion of course).
If I remember, the homepage and the rest of site, have exact same page structure.--See if you can atleast change the structure of inner pages versus the homepage.
Didn't look at enough, but..maybe...
each of your services should be a main menu link on your menubar. I would not put contact us on menubar, and you also had another menubar link with no dropdown( of course ok, but maybe could restructure)--Also your last service (on right of menubar)---why is that one different, and not included with the other services??
Seems like your menubar (items) structure could be reworked.--I would suggest, briefly looking at, to maybe have each service as a primary menu heading/title..YOU MAY NOT NEED A DROPDOWN MENU? Make sure if dropdown it is necessary.
Local security should be one of your services.
Have your footer logo, as is to left, but maybe put your footer links more to the right;;It will 'balance' the footer section
Your top logo seems too close to your main LARGE image (Which btw, seems oddly large compared to the rest of your site?)--That LARGE top image(the same palce on every same looking page), seems too big for your page--Why doen't it line up with the rest off your page content?

How to make my website fit to all resolution?

Hi all, I'm a beginner for using dreamweaver. I've been looking for this question but I think it doesn't solve my problem. I want to make my website fit to all screen resolution. At first, I preview it at mozilla and Internet explorer and its ok. But my friend say that she open it at her computer , Ipad it become a mess. I try to open it at public computer too and it's really such a mess.
I used dreamweaver cs6
And now my problem is:
How to set it to fit for all screen resolution?
what is the css code to make it fit to all screen resolution?
How to set normal width and height for website?

How to make my websites look good in iPhone and iPad?

I have problem to make my website in iWeb look good in webbrowsers in iPhone or iPad... The background (JPEG-file)are dublicating several times!
But that's not a problem for all my different sides, thou it was build in the same way. Here's the site (try to looka at it in a webbrowswer in any handheld

That's the way Mobile Safari handles backgrounds.
Why not use a normal background with proper text boxes.
Anyway, remove your background in iWeb and paste this code in a HTML Snippet :

where the background file (entresida.jpg) is OUTSIDE the Site folder iWeb creates.

How to make a website for a MS SQL database?

I'm used to making static html websites, but now I shall make a website for a friend who has made a database (Microsoft SQL). So I shall make the layout, forms etc, and he provides the database. Can anyone please explain the prinsiples of making such a site, and how to connect it to the database?
PS: I've added the features "Server Behaviors", "Databases" and "Bindings" in my Dreamweaver CC, as they are not preinstalled.

It was the precursor to "Media Queries" which is what you're looking for.

Basically, you make one site in html, then 2 stylesheets that control the site depending on the viewer device. You use the pixel width of the device or browser window to determine which stylesheet is used. When they're on a desktop, stylesheet1 is used, when they move onto something smaller, stylesheet2 kicks in.
The basics are pretty simple, getting the most out of it takes practice.

1. I don't know if you have Adobe Creative Suite 3, but if

3. If you already know how to make movies using Flash, then

might like to get a book on ActionScript 3.0 to learn faster.
You can and will learn faster and better if you take the time
to do 2. and 3.
There is a ton of Flash Tutorials at Adobe and other
websites, do a search and you'll get so many sites it could take
years to visit them all.

I don't do fashion photography but i liked the whole scroll through the pictured kind of idea. But I am relatively new to dreamweaver and don't know how to make that effect. I was just wondering if anyone knew how or had an idea about how to do something like it. And if you did, somehow teach me how to do it.

How to make a website fit to browser window?

How to make your created flash catalyst project/website fit to every window browser size?
This means that I want it to fit in the window size, because I don't want the browser to create scroll bars since I have them inside my project...

I have tried this a number of ways and it makes no difference. This is where I am with it right now in FB4.
I would love to get this to work. If anyone can help me with it please?

How do I add a website to remember the password after I have been to it before? I didn't know how to make the website remember the password initially.

I want to have firefox remember a password on some sites that I have already been to previously. When it asked me initially, I didn't know how to make it remember. Now I would like for it to remember that site. Please explain how to do this.

Otherwise Firefox should offer to store the name and password on the next visit when you sign on.

How to make a website available off-line

How can I make the content of a website available off-line? In the "old days" this was common, and built in to web browsers. A whole site could be downloaded and all links too 2 or 3 levels deep. Then the content would be available when not online. Changes would sync periodically. I've searched addons but nothing ("Download Them All" is a start, but only gets links one level deep from the page you're on at the time.)

You can choose to increase the page dimensions (page width and min height) from the File -> Site Properties section as per your choice and then the rectangle box in between (Page area) would become larger to fill more of the browser area, however, doing this also has a disadvantage. That is, if someone then views your site in smaller screen (lower resolution), there would be a horizontal scrolling bar, and they would have to scroll horizontally to look at the various sections of your site. They won't be able to view the whole site at one go, that is, without having to scroll. Muse only has fixed horizontal page width as of yet.
The gray area you're referring to is the browser fill area. So, if the idea is just to make it not look gray, you can add different browser fills from the browser fill option from the Control Panel as shown here: http://jingsite.businesscatalyst.com/jing/2013-03-13_0738.png
This would also make the browser area look attractive while still keeping the site viewable at one go in smaller resolutions.

How to make a Website in Muse with a Login Forum

I need to build a website for a client in Muse which has access to a Login Forum, so that users can login to a secure site and upload messages and images/video. I have never done this before, but I'm quite experienced in other aspects of Web Design and in Adobe Muse. I'm guessing I will have to use Business Catalyst to do this and intend to host the site on BC. I need to know if this can be done using just Web Basics, or if I have to upgrade to Web Basics+, or higher? Does anyone know of any tutorials, or other help on this subject?
This is not going to be an eCommerce site, I just really need to have the function of a secure web forum with a few other standard pages, HOME, ABOUT etc

Yes, you are right. You can achieve this if you host your site on Business Catalyst. This feature is not included in webBasics+ plan. You need at least webmarketing plan to use the Forums feature. How to make a website for desktop and mobile

I just have a question about, for example, washingtonpost.com. I know in CSS you used to be able to put that "/media" and "/screen" command in head and when the page loads, it detects the device and sends you to either mobile or desktop.
I went to WaPo and I can't seem to find that any more. So using WaPo, is this still how it's done? I just need to test a basic web page in DW4 and then test how it looks on desktop and then my Galaxy Note II so I know I'm moving along correctly before expanding out.
Any advice, help, and tips are appreciated.
