Compile error of LabVIEW C code in vxworks 5.5.1/tornado 2.2.1

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am trying to run a LabVIEW-generated C code {Calling a LabVIEW-built DLL in C to Acquire, Analyze, and Present Data (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/1515)} in VxWorks 5.5.1. However, I have the following errors in using Tornado 2.2.1 to compile:

Hello Che,
Thanks for your response. My real-time target hardware is MVME5100. However, at present I want to see whether a C code {see the attached callLVDLL.c} generated from LabVIEW can be compiled in VxWorks 5.5.1/Tornado 2.2.1. The reason why I am using an old version of VxWorks/Tornado is my company is transitioning to NI PXIe hardwares and LabVIEW software, and phasing out all of VME boards {Power 4e, Power 7e, and MVME5100}.
All of header files are included in Tornado 2.2.1. If you are correct about compiling an .out file using Tornado 2.2.1, then what changes should be made to "callLVDLL.c" for a successful Tornado compilation?
The documentation you recommended refers to a newer version of VxWorks/Tornado, which I do not think is helpful.
Thanks for your help,
Chi

  • Understanding compile errors due to copying code from a doc file and not a txt file

    SITUATION:
My instructor for my micro-controller class refuses to save sample code to a text file and instead saves it to a word document file instead. When I open up the doc file and copy/paste the code into my IDE "CodeWarrior" it causes errors upon compile time.
I am having to rewrite all the code into a text editor and then copy/paste it into my IDE.
    MY UNDERSTANDING:
I was told to always save code as a text file because when you save code as a word document file it will bring in unwanted characters when your copy/pasting the code into your IDE for compiling.
Their are students in my class using the schools computers running "Windows" that copied and pasted the code into CodeWarrior and it compiled fine. This is not only frustrating but confusing. However, I know their are students in class with "PC's" running windows that had the same trouble I did so I know it's not a Mac issue.
Also I am running "Parallels" because my IDE for this micro-controller "Code Warrior" is not avaiable for my OS. I realize there are several IDE's out there that require "Windows OS" in general but I know this situation is not a Mac issue or Parallels issue or even a Windows issue. It's purly an issue of formatting that is done between the file being copied and the target program or so I'm understanding.
Can someone exlain to me in better words or perhaps provide a resource, documentation or article that will enlighten me on this issue. I would like to better state my case next time. I'm tired of being told this is a MAC issue and that Windows is just plain better.

The problem is (as you suggest) almost certainly a gremlin issue - characters that for one reason or another Code Warrior cannot interpret correctly. Why it happens to you and not others is a different matter. That could mean that the pofessor uses fonts that are not on your machine, or that he is using a different version of word, or it could be in how you access the data. For instance, if the prof posts this word doc on the web you may get different results if you download the file and open it in Word as opposed to opening it directly from a web browser.
The sure-fire solution is to download TextWrangler and copy the code in there first. TW has a number of tools for finding and removing unpleasant characters. it adds a step, but... you could also try resaving the doc file as a plain text file from within word.

  • Compiling errors under LabVIEW FPGA v1.1

Problems compiling any designs to target PXI-7831R.
Compile Server v1.1 starts but fails after 5 seconds. Details window reports "#SERVER ERROR:  Error while Compiling #"
I have checked the configuration and it points to the correct directories. I have removed and reinstalled Labview 7.1 and FPGA module 1.1, but the problem persists.
The design compiles correctly on another machine so it appears to be related to the software installation on this machine.
I have attached the xflow.log report from the srvrTemp directory for this design. It is complaining that it cannot find a  VHDL file : nirvi_zerodelayer.vhd
The VHDL file does exist in the clntTmp directory for this design but not in the srvrTmp directory.

Hi, this happened to me regularly.  What I use to do is to delete the whole content of "C:\NIFPGA11\clntTmp"
and "C:\NIFPGA11\srvrTmp\localhost".  Also, I've noticed that compilation may not fail if I click run instead of build when the target is "FPGA Device (PXI-7831R) <compile only>"... stange!
    hope this helps!

  • J2EE deploytool compile error in generated code.

I write and compile all the code for EJB.
Created .EAR and .WAR files needed for deploy. But when the deploy application tries to generated and compile stub code there is a compilation problem.
Anyone knows how can I solve this? or this is a problem of the deploy app, Is there another one?
    I'm using J2EE SDK 1.3 beta version.
    THANKS...

It's not an Exception. Are compile errors of the generated code.
When you make "Deploy..." from "Tools" menu item of the "Application Deployment Tool", it make some task including source generation and its compilation, so, this compilation have errors.

In Java, there is no length() method i Array Class. It is a property. So, use like this.....

  • Compilation errors with JDeveloper 10.1.2.2.0

    Hello,
I want to change my environment work. First I worked with Eclipse (Europa, jre 1.6), I have no error with my following code source :
    private List<String> lString;
and now I have a compilation error with the same code
    ' Error(43,14): <identifier> expected '
I think it's a compiler version problem but I'm not sure and I don't know how to change the compiler version.
If someone have any idea, I will be happy to receive response.
    Thanks

JDeveloper 10.1.2.2.0 doesn't support neither JDK 1.6 nor JDK 1.5.

  • LabVIEW 6.0.2 Compund Arithmetic function in XOR mode Inverted generates Compiler error when file saved

I am posting this as a problem for NI to look at.
I am using the Compund Arithmetic function in XOR mode Inverted with 5 inputs. File is also set up in reentrant mode. When I attempt to save the file I get the following error:

XOR is a new addition to compound arithmetic node. LabVIEW developpers just overlooked the fact that the outpout could be inverted. The compiler fails to generate the proper code because the inversion is not expected.
Just do what the message says. Report the problem to NI Tech Support (and use a separate inverter node).

  • Please help suggestions for solving built-only compiler error: 'The VI is not executable. The full development version of LabView is required tofix this error.'

We have develoepd a software tool and build it on regular basis. It currently runs error free when compiled in the editor, but when we built it and run the executable stand alone we get the error.
'The VI is not executable. The full development version of LabView is required tofix this error.' plus a broeken error.
This menas an compiler error that is not present in the editor but in the stand alone version. We tried to identify errors as suggested in several posts in this forum, but so far unsuccesfull.
As the editor and its compiler do not see the error  and are running fine and the stand alone version just syas 'find the error in the editor' in this case LabView is of no help.
Can anyone suggest a sensible or 'good practice ' way of searching for the source of this error?
Our project  comprises hundreds of Vis over several libraries.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Thanks Craig for all your suggestions.
We seem to have located the problem in a new vi just added to the package causing conflicts by using the same vi names as other vis already present in the package. Excluding this vi removed the error.
It seems related to a conflict by having two vis with the same name, which was mentioned by LabView and interactively resolved when running the main vi from the editor. When successfully building the main vi the builder did not mention this conflict and reported a successful build, but when trying to run the executable it gave the cryptic error. The error caused us problems because there was no hint for the cause, just the suggestion to solve this in the editor, while at the same time in the editor the VI was running fine.
We will post about this in detail after we have positively proven that this actually was the case.
The .net version issue was already checked.
Performance was the same on all machines we tested on including the dev machine.
Debugging was tried nut did not help as the vi could not run (broken arrow). We assumed that debugging only helps in running faulty functioning vi''s. We did not check for broken arrows in sub-vis (after connecting), that could have helped, although our application has hundreds of our own vis.
    In relation to your remark:
'Are you using many classes? Have you verified that the proper access scopes are set for functions calling those vis?'
Could you elaborate on setting access scopes. We were not aware of this option in LabView, although we realize this is a basic element of the underlying c code.
    Ragrds,
    Chris

  • Labview 2011 FPGA Compile Error

    Hi,
I'm new to FPGA. I want to use Labview 2011 SP1 with the Spartan 3E starter kit from Xilinx (Spartan 3E driver available from NI labview website).
I'm trying to work my way through the examples that came with the driver. I've run into the same compiler error with a number of the examples. The error is attached.
Error 7 occurred at Read from Text File in niFpgaCompileWorker_CheckForErrors.vi->niFpgaCompileWorker_JobComplete.vi->niFpgaCompile_Worker.vi:1
    Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW:  File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on Windows, : on Mac OS X, and / on Linux. Verify that the path is correct using the command prompt or file explorer.
    C:\NIFPGA\compilation\Shift_FPGATarget_Shift_87E8371C\Spartan3EStarter.bld
I've checked the registry to ensure that the path to the compiler is correct.
    Any assistance would be welcome.

Sounds like ancient code that no longer matches current API's.
Theres not much option except to rewrite those bits.

  • Compile error in hidden module: Essbaselogon. This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, Platform, or architecture of this application

    Hi,
I am getting below wrror while accesing the Ecel:
compile error in hidden module: Essbaselogon. This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, Platform, or architecture of this application

IIRC essbase is a financial reporting add-in (Hyperion, or something similar?).
This message is telling you that the add-in is not compatible with your current software. You should check with the vendor who provided the essbase add-in. Tell them what version of windows and Excel (and maybe Hyperion) you are using, and get a compatible
    version from them...
If you do not need or run essbase/hyperion/etc then you should just remove/disable the add-in. If it doesn't show in your add-in menu, then you may have to do a repair installation or re-install Excel
