How to make MDI child - parent relationship in java using net beans/

i am going to prepare an application in java.
for that, i have to establish an MDI child - parent relation between various forms.
I am preparing that application in net beans.
Just guide me as early as possible for that as i have to submit that within three days.

hey ppl i have 2 JFrames n i want to open the 2nd frame on the actionEvent of the first one.. now the problem is if i close the first one that is the Parent frame i want that the 2nd one should also close.... so what can i do to have this parent child relation ship between these 2 frames???

Sure. You need to call setExtendedState with the proper settings. Check out the API for JWindow, JFrame or JDialog for more info on that. It's not too hard tho
there's one more issue if i opt for the the JDialog
and make the frame as its parent can u suggest me how

Do you understand how to make the Slider work using code to read its value? You will need to look into that in order to do this.

The problem with the datagridview is that it can only show one table.
For more tables 3th party datagrid's are better.
Although you can start with using the old datagrid. Despite what is written on MSDN is it a complete different control then the datagridview. You can add in to your toolbox by right clicking on it and then add it.
The datasource of a DataGrid can be a complete dataset which is showed with all its relations.

I am havin 10 text boxes in my application.
But out of 10 , 3 will be always together(existence of one is not possible without the other two.)
Now i want to create a vector of objects ( here object will consist of the value corresponding to these three boxes),there can be many elements in this vector.

How to make a field of ALV Grid to use a Search Help?

I have a ALV grid with a field catalog. Say the field is 'USR000'.
F4availabl = 'X' . for the field in the field catalog.
I have prepared search help named ZEV_PROTYPE that uses tha table ZEV_PROTYPES.(two fields in the table :ProType and Text).
Is it possible to make the field in ALV grid to use this search help if F4 is pressed on the field. ?
Which structure of the ALV must be used for that ? Is it Field Catalog ?
Would you please help me ?

If you have a Z data element and the search help is attached to it, you can just give the reference table and field in the field catalog for the editable ALV field, and the search help should appear.

How to make a "Program" out of my .java files?

I have made a little application that stores a file to disk. Is there someway to make a file out of my .java files so it can be run without opening my editor and choosing run?

sorry I didn't check that, I can now run the jar command.
But even though I can create a .jar file I get an error. I have followed the guide that says I need to add the applications Entry point.
I have two classes:
saveDates.class //contains the main method
UserInput.claa // Parsing of user input
When I create the jar file I type:
jar cfe saveDates.jar SaveDates SaveDates.class UserInput.class
But when I try to run it like:
java -jar saveDates.jar
I get the error:
C:\workspace\dato>java -jar saveDates.jar
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: SaveDates$1
at SaveDates.main(SaveDates.java:89)
C:\workspace\dato>
Do I need to change the main method someway?
