    Are there any settings needed to be done to the tomcat server?
    .....or to use a different version?
    Ps: i'm putting the MyApplication.war file in the webapps directory of the installed tomcat server(I thought this one is needed)

    I too have had the same problem and have tried every trick in the book, this solution work and makes sence for me.
    If you wish to deploy to a server that is not the the bundled server, make sure that there are no spaces in the path to your source code or your tomcat server.
    C:\Documents and settings\Fred Brooks\My Documents\MyApplication
    Bad
    C:\env\MyApplication
    Good
    C:\Program files\Appache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\
    Bad
    C:\Tomcat55\
    Good
    this seemed to allow me to both deploy strait to the server from netbeans as well as using the tomcat admin web page to deploy the .war file.
    I remember reading someware, or hearing someware that ant doesn't like spaces in file or directory names, in fact had a general dislike for spaces in general.
    If you find this solution doesn't work try some of the following.
    - set the <faces severlet> <load on startup> to false (0) in the project web.xml.
    - copy the jars from your build web-inf / lib folder of your project to tomcat\server\lib
    - removing the any content in the tomcat\temp folder
    - copy the jars from your build web-inf / lib folder of your project to any folder
    in tomcat that contains jars or you might think would like some (yes i know
    im flayaling wildly at the problem here this is realy a last ditch effort)
    these are some of the solutions i have found elseware on the internet, you have by now proberbley seen them and tried them yourself, they work sometimes apparently, but they seem a little random.
    Hope this helps

    No, you have an option in outlook client to set up this activity through server so there us no need of outlook running all the time and the outlook if needed only on the primary setup,
    I have specified the same in step by step instruction for better understanding.
    Thanks

  • How To Make A Public Page Parameter (similar to session)

    Hi, I'm new to Oracle Portal
    I wonder how to make a public parameter that can be accessed from any page (similar to session).
    So the portlets can use the public parameter.
    Case:
    when user logged in, I pass the employee_ID to the session.
    Portal pages, which contains employee portlet, and some other portlet depends on employee_ID.
    So I think, may be there's a way to set the parameter for once, but the value is accessible until the user log off.
    Any suggestion or help?
    Thx before,
    Chris

    Let me explain the problem once again:
    Page 1 Portlet 1 contains employee table
    ID, Name, Address
    When I click the employee ID (using event), it will be pass the value to page parameter EMPID
    And i want this EMPID can be accessed by
    Portlet 2 - Showing sales report
    Portlet 3 - Showing report
    Portlet 4 - Showing chart
    Portlet 5
    and so on
    Portlet 2, 3 4, 5, and so on is using EMPID as the parameter too,
    but these portlets are located in different page
    Portlet 2 is in page 2
    Portlet 3 is in page 3
    Portlet 4 is in page 4
    Portlet 5 is in page 5
    and so on
    First I think about using Package wwpro_api_parameters
    but after read further, this package can get and retrieve only
    I wonder can this (public page parameter) be done by using default Oracle Portal Tools / API, or I should do some java coding, or something else?
    Please help me...
    Thanx before,
    Chris

  • How to make outbound plug to Public attr

    Hi All,
               I am trying to call outbound plug from get_v method for f4 help. But when i click on f4 help, it getting dump by giving below error.
    View 'ZXXXX/GeneralData' does not have the public outbound plug 'OP_FINDXXXX' for value help navigation
    In get_v method, using below piece of code.
         CREATE OBJECT rv_valuehelp_descriptor TYPE cl_bsp_wd_valuehelp_navdescr
         EXPORTING
          iv_outbound_plug = 'FINDXXXX'.                    "#EC NOTEXT
    My concern is how to make Outbound plug to public or if there any other way to call Outbound plug from Get_v then please advice.
    I appriciate your suggestion.
    Thanks
    RI

    Hi Imran!
    To make outbound plug public please do the following things:
    1)In BSP_WD_CMPWB: go to the code of your outbound plug and switch to edit mode;
    2)Save & Activate your outbound plug.
    3)Menu "Go to" -> "Method Definition"-> tab "Attributes":
    - set "Visibility" = Public
    - "Event" block: "Active" should be marked.
    Warning: after changing of visibility the content(code) of method will be removed automatically!
    So, save it beforehand.
    4) Then go to method and try to do save and activate.
    You will get a error message. Double click at this message - so you will be redirected to the error place - protected section of the current class.
    5) Find out in this protected section the rows with your outbound plug - cut out them.
    6)On the toolbar you will see button for public section - go there and past you rows there.
    7) save and activate everything.
    8) Now you can fill your outbound plug with your logic and activate again.
    I did this just recently many times and it worked fine.
    Please tell me if something is unclear or doesn't work.
    Good luck!

  • PL/SQL: How to make a function accessible to all users?

    How can I make a function accessible to all users?
    I have written a stored function called GET_NET_BALANCE.
    I can run it but my users cannot.
    I have tried the following, but my users still cannot
    run the function:
    GRANT EXECUTE ON GET_NET_BALANCE TO PUBLIC;
    Thanks, Eileen

    Hi,
    You can try creating a public synonym on the function so that it is accessible to all.
    To get greater response.. please post your question at
    PL/SQL

  • Performance of DB Link VS Public Synonyms

    1) In a single database(Oracle 9.2) , I have multiple schema say a, b ,c d ,e etc.Currently we are using public synonyms to access tables of other schema.There is a plan to split the database into two or three DB and to use db links instead of public synonyms.So what would be impact on performance?
    2) In a same database for accessing multiple schema objects which one between DB link and Synonym is a better approach and why? How are the working mechanism for each of them?
    Appreciate your quick response.

    MSINHA wrote:
    No, on the same server we will have different instances. We are trying to split the schema into separate DB so as to independently upgrade them as they are for different applications and modules but some of the tables are common and being accessed using public synonym.Horrible idea to run multiple database instances on a single server. This is not how servers scale.
    Oracle scales by adding more servers to a single database - this is called RAC.
    Your approach is the exact opposite. Adding more databases to a single server.
    That approach seldom makes any technical sense - and is usually forced by circumstances (like running 2 different Oracle versions) and not by sound technical, performance and scalability reasons.
    Keep in mind that an Oracle database is NOT architecturally and technically the same as a mySQL or SQL-Server database. A mySQL/SQL-Server database is called a schema in the Oracle environment.

  • How to make different users to use different Plan_Tables?

    How to make different users to use different Plan_Tables?

    I want each user use his own's Plan_Table. How to achieve this goal?Which version of Oracle - if you're on 10g or later you are already (effectively) doing this.
    If not, then copy the 10g strategy back to your version; in outline:
    <ul>
    drop all existing plan tables
    create a table (but call it plan_table$) in the SYS schema (you may prefer to use SYSTEM) as a global temporary table on commit preserve rows
    create a public synonym plan_table for plan_table$
    grant select insert update delete on plan_table to public
    </ul>
    Look in $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catplan.sql in a 10g version of Oracle to check how it's done.
    Each user gets a private (temporary) table in their temporary tablespace whenever they use the plan_table
    Their private data disappears when there session ends.

    Hi my name is vishal
    For past 10 days i have been breaking my head on how to make column headers in table appear bold while datas in table appear regular from c# windows forms with sql server2008 using iTextSharp.
    Given below is my code in c# on how i export datas from different tables in sql server to PDF report using iTextSharp:

    using System.Data;
    using System.Drawing;
    using System.Linq;
    using System.Text;

    else if (MessageBox.Show("Do you want to save changes to AssignedDialyzer.pdf before closing?", "DRRS", MessageBoxButtons.YesNoCancel, MessageBoxIcon.Exclamation) == DialogResult.No)
    this.Close();
    The above code executes well with no problem at all!
    As you can see the file to which i create and save and open my pdf report is
    AssignedDialyzer.pdf.
    The column headers of table in pdf report from c# windows forms using iTextSharp are
    "Reprocessing Date","Patient Name","Dialyzer(Manufacturer,Size)","No.of Reuse","Verification" and
    "DialyzerID".
    However the problem i am facing is after execution and opening of document is my
    column headers in table in pdf report from
    c# and datas in it all appear in bold.
    I have browsed through net regarding to solve this problem but with no success.
    What i want is my pdf report from c# should be similar to following format which i was able to accomplish in vb6,adodb with MS access using iTextSharp.:
    Given below is report which i have achieved from vb6,adodb with MS access using iTextSharp
    I know that there has to be another way to solve my problem.I have browsed many articles in net regarding exporting sql datas to above format but with no success!
    Is there is any another way to solve to my problem on exporting sql datas from c# windows forms using iTextSharp to above format given in the picture/image above?!
    If so Then Can anyone tell me what modifications must i do in my c# code given above so that my pdf report from c# windows forms using iTextSharp will look similar to image/picture(pdf report) which i was able to accomplish from
    vb6,adodb with ms access using iTextSharp?
    I have approached Sound Forge.Net for help but with no success.
    I hope anyone/someone truly understands what i am trying to ask!
    I know i have to do lot of modifications in my c# code to achieve this level of perfection but i dont know how to do it.
    Can anyone help me please! Any help/guidance in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    I hope i get a reply in terms of solving this problem.

  • How to make a JPanel selectable

    When extending a JPanel and overriding the paintComponent() method the custom JPanel can not be selected so that it gets for example KeyEvents.
    But if I make the new Class extend a JButton it gets of course selected and able to receive for example KeyEvents.
    My question is therefore; what does the JButton implement that a JPanel doesn&#8217;t so that a JButton gets selectable? Or in other words; how to make a JPanel selectable?
    Aleksander.

    Try this extended code. Only the first panel added can get the Focus.

  • I created a form and I'm not sure how to make the 'submit' button send me the collected information.

    Hello everybody. I am a web designer (NOT a developer)
    I created a form and I'm not sure how to make the 'submit' button send me the collected information.
    I have used phpform.org/ to custom build a submission form. Then I opened that html in dreamweaver (so that I could edit colors, fonts, and delete the phpform.org advetisement)
    Now I need to link the 'submit button' so that it will e-mail me the completed form.
    (formphp.org wants me to subscribe to a servie that I pay for in order to have the form e-mailed to myself.)
    (after I get the submit button linked to an e-mail I will pull the html of my completed form into Muse- but I don't think that is really relevent)
    I'm sure one of you can help point me in the right direction! I can't write my own code so detailed help is appreciated!
    -Brenna
    The e-mail I would like the form sent to is:
    [email protected]
    Here is the the code for my form 'as is' :

    I'm afraid not.    It's not rocket science but you need to do some coding.
    You'll need to find a script (php) and save it to your local site folder.  Then reference the script in your form's action attribute like so.
         <form action="path/form-to-email-script.php" >
    The input fields in your HTML form need to exactly match the script variables.
    I'm  assuming you're hosted on a Linux server which uses PHP code.  Linux servers are also case sensitive, so upper case names are not the same as lower case names.  It's usually best to use all lower case names in your form and script to avoid confusion.

  • How to make a pop up within if else

    I'm now making an user interface which will be used to control a remote robot. I want to make it so that when a button is pressed, a window will pop-up and tells the user what the robot is doing. At the moment, I can only make it to show the message in the cmd box. Code is as follow:
    class ActionHandler implements java.awt.event.ActionListener
              public void actionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent event)
                   Object object = event.getSource();
                   if (object == forwardButton) {
                        System.out.println("Robot moving fordward");
                   else if (object == backwardButton) {
                        System.out.println("Robot moving backward");
                   else if (object == rotateLeftButton){
                        System.out.println("Robot rotating to its left");
                   else if (object == rotateRightButton){
                        System.out.println("Robot rotating to its right");
    The only way to make pop-up which I know is this one:
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class DisplayTextInWindow {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              // create a String variable
              String messageText = "Hello world";
              // display it in the console window
              System.out.println(messageText);
              // now display it in its own window
              JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, messageText );
    Which I can put into the code for interface because I can't start another class within an if statement (as far as I know anyway...)
    Can anyone please teach me how to make a pop-up within an if else statement?

    Which I can put into the code for interface because I can't start another class within an if statement (as far as I know anyway...)yes you can.
    if (robotRotating)
        newClass class = new newClass();
        class.methods;
    Can anyone please teach me how to make a pop-up within an if else statement?sure
    if (robotRotating)
       //i think this part is already answered in the previous post
       javax.swing.JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "your message here", "your title here", JOptionPane.OK_OPTION);
    }

  • How to make the swing drawings to appear in a specific jPanel?

    hi,
    I have a frame which I divided in two panels - one for the jComboBoxes/buttons and the other one for showing graphics. but the paint(Graphics g) overpaints it all =(
    how should my code look like if I want some rectangles (depending on the combo choices and on button click which means update) to appear in the second panel?
    the code's structure is like :
    import *;
    public class NewJFrame extends javax.swing.JFrame {
         private JPanel jPanel1;
    public static void main(String[] args) {
              NewJFrame inst = new NewJFrame();
              inst.setVisible(true);
         public NewJFrame() {
              super();
              initGUI();
         public void paint(Graphics g) {
              g.fillRect (x, y, w, z)
         private void initGUI() {
              jPanel1 = new JPanel();
                   // combo boxes and buttons
                   // action listeners for them
              jPanel2 = new JPanel();
                   // the place where the rectangles should be shown
                   // and updated if combos are changed and button clicked
    }now, I wonder if anyone could possibly give me a hint how to make it correctly, because I'm really a total newb in Java and I can't find any good examples from www which I've search through for the solution.
    P.S. is there a plug-in for eclipse for visual programming of the graphics? =)
    thank You for the kindest help!
    J.M.

    You should not be mixing AWT and Swing component in
    a Swing application, so don't use a Canvas.
    If you need some custom painting then you should
    override the paintComponent() method of JComponent or
    JPanel and then add this component to the GUIwhat does mean the override the paintComponent() method of JComponent or JPanel?
    how can I add that component to the GUI?
    =)
    can you give a short code example, please! the code structure would be more than enough.

  • How to make new line in JButton.setText()?

    how to make new line in JButton.setText()?
    I want to set the text of jbutton in tow line ,as follows
    | jbutton-line1 |
    | xxxxxxx-line2 |
    i konw i can jbtton.settext("<html>line1<br>line2</html>");
    but i find it's ugly using html,
    is there anyother way to create new line in JButton's Text

    As for the above comment....
    I thought the question was well purposed. Using HTML was not acceptable in this instance, which was made clear, so why critisize his comments? "Using HTML" is a poor solution, it does NOT work in many instances due to browser, OS variations. Usually the "common answer" is never a COMPLETE answer.
    Possible Solution:
    Use JLabels to render the text on the button.
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class ButtonMaker {
    public static void makeButton(JButton jb, String[] titleList) {
    jb.setLayout(new FlowLayout());
    for (int i = 0; i < titleList.length; i++) {
    JLabel tmpLabel = new JLabel(titleList);
    tmpLabel.setForeground(Color.black);
    jb.add(tmpLabel);
    public static void clearButton(JButton jb) {
    Component[] cList = jb.getComponents();
    for (int i = 0; i < cList.length; i++) {
    if (cList[i] instanceof JLabel)
    jb.remove(cList[i]);
    Known Limitations:
    1. Flowlayout does not work well with single line text buttons... perhaps another layout manager may work better for various buttonsizes-linenumber combos.
    2. Mac OSX : The default UI for Mac OS X (and above it seems), is to have rounded edged buttons. These rounded edges are destoryed when using JLabels, leaving a square, blocky button in its place.
    POSSIBLE SOLUTION:
    (this is ugly and time consuming)
    - create images of the button with text on them.
