Hello, I want to do serial communication using windows platform.Sun provides javax.comm package for solaris & unix but there is no any provision for windows platform.Can I use it in Windows Platform.?

To be honest, I do not have much experience about Office for Mac.

This is possible, MAC and Windows are 2 different platforms and the features of Office System on this 2 platform is also inconsistent (the Office for Windows has more rich features).

Hi Barry,
What do you mean "it doesn't work"? What kind of errors are you seeing? Also, you only specified the file name (data.vi) when opening a VI reference. Try specifying the whole path to the VI. Also, you might want to make sure you are able to ping your other computer from the start (to see if this is a LabVIEW issue or a network issue).

I want to use the function DrawArt of AIDrawArtSuite.
To use this function, I must have an AIDrawArtGWorld or an AIDrawArtAGMPort or an AIDrawArtAGMPoirtV6 object.
With CS6 SDK, this suite provides a mean to instantiate an AIAGMPort.
With CS3, CS4 and CS5 this function doesn't exist.
On MacOS X, I can build AIDrawArtGWorld.
On Windows, I don't know how to do it.
On Windows how can I make an AIDrawArtAGMPort object ?

It may be that you are using non-backward compatible capabilities in your Windows Phone 8.1 app(s).
Developers that want to develop for different OS's usually have platforms with the different OS's on them for developing applications so they work on each platform.
I suppose you developed for Windows phone 8.1 rather than Windows phone 7. Therefore your app runs on a different framework than a Windows phone 7 has as well as probably newer hardware with greater capabilities.
So you will probably need to purchase an older phone that came with Windows phone 7 in order to develop for. I couldn't find documentation like the last link below (App capabilities and hardware requirements for Windows Phone 8) for Windows phone 7
from Microsoft but maybe you can.

How to make a screenshot in Windows 8.1?

Model: C875D - S7120 Part No.: PSCBEU - 01100F I can't do it.... I have tried the usual Ctrl-V and also Shift-Ctrl-V to make basic screenshots and paste them to my graphics programs (I use the more modern Gimp 2.8 and Paint.net, along with a Paint Shop Pro version that functions on here)...but using those key shortcuts does not work! Ctrl-V always worked a treat on my old XP computer... What should be so difficult about making a screenshot on W8.1? Sometimes I want to do that if there is a technical issue that someone needs a visual attachment to understand better... TIA Krystal

I don't know javascript -- is there a way to have the page be a popup page conditionally based on the page it's invoked from? I want to use an existing report page that's a tab page as a popup page with a conditional column link that is displayed based on if it was invoked from a specific page that's used for the pass back values. Is this all possible?

Thanks so much for your help. I have everything working, it's great! I'm trying to enhance this by having the Select column in my popup page (P57) be conditionally displayed based on the page it was invoked from. I've tried a couple different things. One is I have a page item on the popup page that gets set to the page it's invoked from by setting the page item in the href defined in the Post Element Text for the link in the calling page. What I can't figure out now is how to set it to null after the user selects a value from the popup page, or if they close the window without selecting a value. To make it work in all cases, the P57_FROM_PAGE page item needs to be set to null by the calling page.
Can you give me some pointers on how to do this?

If you want to make an installer file for windows, i think below link is suitable for your requirement. I never tried this approach of creating the installer file of java applications. But while reading the description of it, i thought that it may suits to your requirement.

How to make back ups with Windows!!

I am trying to make a back up from my laptop Windows Vista how can i do this.

Microsoft has a backup software.. it is really horrible but well, it is there..
Download and install a freebie.. Macrium Reflect.. it will do a disk image to time capsule no problem. You can also boot from Bart PE disk to recover or maybe Linux.. haven't tried the linux method.. but that is what is lacking in Microsoft.
If you pay the license for Reflect it will also do incremental backups.. but there are plenty of software backup available and if you are strict in the way you keep files.. a simple xcopy or robocopy script to backup your personal folders to a zip file can work very well. Check out reviews of PC backup software. Just don't use the built in MS version unless you are penniless pauper and suffering several fatal diseases. 5 at least.

Smartform problem how to make second page main window dynamic?

I am facing a problem with designing a smartform. I have taken a table in the main window of the first page, and the main window length varies according to the number of entries in the table. If the records are more than that can be adjusted in the first page then the ramaining records move to the second page main window. After the second page main window i have defined a window which i have marked to get displayed after the main window, but the problem i am facing is that that the second page main window is geting overlapped with the window defined to come after it. Can any one help me with how to control the length of second page main window dynamically.

Hi,
Normally, to trigger next page the main window is mandatory.
However, if the contents of main window are not sufficient enough to move over to next page then the next page would not get trigerred.
Moreover, please check whether the table of contents in the first page are also existing in the next page otherwise you need to trigger a new page by using a command.
Also please direct the next page of SECOND page to SECOND itself and check.

You need to make sure the machine have the corresponding NI-VISA installed. Check in the NI software pages for the right version.
Also make sure that the com port's can be selected when you first start the application. Eg. if you refer to VISA "COM1" on the XP machine It might be "COM2" on the Win7 machine.

The only thing left to do is making a global storage, just 1 storage of 250 gb that every user can access and i need it to be shown in "This Computer".

Do you mean than you want everyone have their own personal share folder? And need to limit the folder size?
I think you can use the FTP server function in Windows server.
