How to make several copies of a shape follow a motion path

Hi all! Does anyone have an idea for this:
I have drawn a "highway" using the bezier tool - I want a lot of circleshapes to follow this highway to indicate a current flowing. I have the circle shape and with the motion path behaviour I can make it follow the shape. Now I want a lot of cirlces to do the same so the highway is filled with the circles repeating over and over. I have tried some different setting an emitter with motion path but it doesn't work.
I would think that this illustration is quite common so maybe some of yo could give me a clue on how to do this??

I tried it using the Replicator:
Create the highway.
Create a Circle.
Replicator settings:
Shape> Geometry.
Shape Source>your highway Shape.
Points>27
Offset: assign a Ramp Behaviour. Start Value 0%. End Value: 191%. This moves the circles along the highway.
Tweak to taste.

How to make a line follow a motion path

alright, i'm gonna try and explain this as best as possible. i want to do something like what apple did for the motion video, where lines follow a motion path. but my problem is that when the line hits a keyframe, the line stays straight and turns its axis (looking ********), unlike apple's vid where the line itself turns and curves around each keyframe.....alright does that make any sense? look at the picture below, see how the lines are curved to follow a path....my lines stay straight and look like the second pic.

Don't do it like that. Create a curved line and use a replicator on it...

Is there a way to make several threads guaranteedly do something at exactly the same time? The code below creates two identical Random objects with approximately 90% probability, in 10% cases Random's are different (Random constructor takes current system time as its argument). But how to ensure it 100%?

and even if the PC has multiple processors you are still not guaranteed that it will run the seperate threads at the same exact moment. The JVM for the platform would have to be optomized to make use of multiprocessors for starters, and even if it is it still doesn't guarantee it, the way the OS handles applications (i.e. the JVM) and the way the JVM handles multithreads all will have implications on whether or not two threads actually truly run simultaniously.

How to animate a sequence of shapes on a motion path

Hi All.
I am trying to animate a moving line of dots on a curved motion path but can only do one at a time. What I need is a stream of dots moving along the line as I need to show something 'coming from here and going to there'. I've tried to get a particle emmitter to spit out dots that follow the path but no joy there. I can't do it with a replicator either. Will I just have to laboriously animate one dot then dupe it and offset tons of copies to get the effect? Seems a bit long-winded.
Any ideas would be very greatfully received.

Refer to specialcase's tutorial on drawing lines with the replicator, and you'll have the basics. It's a stellar explanaexplanation of the Sequence Replicator behavior and how it can be used to animate things. Ms. or Mr. Case rules.

Beyond that:
- draw a dot
- draw a wavy line with the Bezier tool
- replicate the dot
- in the inspector under the replicator tab, change the shape to geometry, then drag your wavy line into the shape source well
- increase the number of points 'til they fill your line
- go to the behavior button and add the Sequence Replicator behavior to the replicator
- add opacity as the parameter and start mucking about

How do I get different layers to follow a motion path but start at a different time?

I'm doing a project where I need to have several credit cards come in from the bottom left, move to the middle right, loop up and come back down to exit bottom right. I can make one card do that with a motion path but every time I make the cards follow it, it just follows the null object wherever it's at. How do I make those cards start at different times so it looks like the cards are trailing? Once it gets to the loop the cards still need to stay behind as well.
I've been using AE for years and I feel like I should know how to do something as basic as this but I've been drawing a blank now for days. Thanks for your help!

When you open your PDF file a yellow bar will appear on the top of the screen.
Click on 'Enable All Features'.
Then you will be able to copy the content from your pdf and to paste in any of the file.

I have serarched it and looked across the advice on here, but I cant make heads or tales of it all. We dont have Apple Mac nor do we have access one. So how on earth do I get the movie from our iphone to Itunes then to disk?

How to make a vector into a shaper of transparency on a layer rather than shape of layer?

I'm working on a drawing that somehow I've created a layer on -- all blue, that has what looks like a vector mask
over it, but the vector mask, instead of shaping the layer, creates a transparancy in the layer.
And I don't know how to reproduce this effect!
Every time I create a vector mask, it shapes the layer.
If I take that vector looking mask on that layer, and try to copy it to another layer -- it shapes the layer!
If I copy it back to the original layer -- it shapes the original layer...
So there's something about the vector mask that says the shape of the layer is everything on the 'outside' of the vector.
How in the heck!? The 'invert' button is not available when you go into 'masks' and look at the vector masks.
So how might I recreate this type of transparency mask? It's driving me crazy, cuz there it is -- just like I want it, but I can't
reproduce it! I've tried dup'ing the blend settings on the layer-- but they don't seem to have an effect.
Ideas?

I looked through the reference docs and couldn't find anything on how to do this. Is it in the reference docs anywhere, do you know? Or is just another one of those things that people learn, but Adobe doesn't document.
I can see if someone has 'grown up w/photoshop' and realizes what tools are "orthogonal" to other tools of those, which can have their settings altered to do something meaninful with the primary tool, it could be a powerful tool (and is touted as being so), but if you don't know the interconnects, it doesn't seem like they are well documented in the reference manual.
I wonder if Adobe might consider having someone like Grinder and Bandler** write a manual to bring people 'into' the photoshop world -- to
give people an awareness of which tools were orthogonal and retrain someone's mind to think in terms of building up an effect by combining different aspects of orthogonal tools. I wonder if it would even be possible to write such a book...(just some late sunday musings).

Like I said. It depends. You could put the template layer at the top of the stack, with blend mode set to Multiply, but it depends the tonal vals of each layer at any particular location. You could use Blend if in Layer Styles, or make an Alpha channel from the template — if the background of the template layer is pure white, and of these methods will work for you.
Try it. If it doesn't work, you'll need to upload screen shots to show us what you are working with.

I am a bit of an Illustrator newbie. I am needing some help to work out how to wrap or manipulate type to fit the shape and flow of an object? I have attached an image to show you what I am trying to do. I want the "shop by measure" text to be in the yellow blank space of the tape measure but flowing with the shape of the tape. See online help. Read about Envelope Distortion. Then keep things simple as you experiment. This takes about 2 minutes.
When doing "ribbon distortions," selecting corresponding top and bottom MeshPoints as pairs and moving/scaling/rotating them together helps avoid things getting all distorted out of control. See this PDF for an example. The example was done using a 1 Row, 2 Column Mesh.

I am making a Message Dialog From JOptionPane because i do not want to use some static methods of JOptionPane (JOptionPane.Show ...)
My source codes following :
