How to manageimported users, groups, and computers in the "Magic Triangle"

How do I manage imported users, groups, and computers? Server Preferences versus Workgroup Manager? I can import users and groups with the former but it offers limited configurable options. I can view all users. groups. and computers (from active directory) in the latter, but it does not designate which accounts have been imported.
I've got a magic triangle setup, with my users, groups and computers in Windows Active Directory, and my MacOS X snow leopard server setup as a directory master, abd bound to AD as well. I wish to apply group policy like settings to my Mac OS X leopard and snow leopard clients.
Here's a summary of my goals:
1. Time Machine Storage for mac users when they logon to Mac OS X computers.
2. Automount group shares located on the Mac OS X Server.
3. Redirect user desktop and document folders to user shares either on the Mac OS X server or my Windows file server.
4. Automount a custom folder (for each user) located either on the Mac OS X server or my Windows file server.
5. Setup Mac OS X server as a printer server with quotas for all mac and windows computer users.

I'm not sure you want to import users to use the magic triangle properly. I think importing creates 'Augmented Records' - the user icons have blue dots.
The principle is this…
Bind the server to Active Directory (AD) & create an Open Directory master (OD). This can be done from Server Admin, in the OD section, via the change button.
Then you use Workgroup Manager, set the viewing directory (tiny little globe in top left) to use LDAP records on the server - LDAPv3/127.0.0.1. Authenticate (lock on right of toolbar) add a group, then switch to to its Members tab, click + Then change the user list to show the AD records & add the AD users to the OD group. It sounds weird & wrong, but it is how it works.
You are never modifying the AD records, just assigning a group to the users in OD. It's why the clients need to bind to AD & OD.
From there you can set the Managed prefs (MCX) for the members of the OD group. It also helps to add a guest computer account to OD to assign computer prefs based on the macs that bind to the server - it's in the File menu when you select the computes list in OD.
I hope that's clear, not sure I can help with the other tasks, but they tend to fall into place once you have the complex start in place.

    Follow the steps:
    Order of Authentication:
    The Oracle BI Server populates session variables using the initialization blocks in the desired order that are specified by the dependency rules defined in the initialization blocks.
    If the server finds the session variable USER, it performs authentication against an LDAP server or an external database table, depending on the configuration of the initialization block with which the USER variable is associated.
    Authentication against the identity store configured in Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console occurs first, and if that fails, then initialization block authentication occurs.
    If you configure your external table authentication as in OBIEE 10g when the session variable USER is associated to the initialization block and LDAP server fails to get the respective user then the user's will authenticate(Identify store) over database(table).
    Dont forgot to create Catalog group as we do normally in 10g
    In 11g Analytics - Administration- Security - Manage Catalog groups -- (+) to add new groups and set permissions to the catalog folders w.r.t groups/users.

    My requirement is as follows,
    I have three inputs which is User name, Password and URL. URL may be like anything like for example gmail,yahoo,hotmail like that.
    No need to authenticate the URL. Just i want to place the credentials in User ID and Password controls.
    On button click the URL should open in browser and the credentials should place in the controls in log in page.
    How to achieve it. Ultimate thought is the user should know the "Password",only admin know the password.

    Hello,
    If URL's are internal (not third party) then you can do this by modifying both applications. If you are trying to do this with third party then you have to contact product owner. I don't think there is any code or solution for third party application where
    you can set values of controls.
    For internal URL's you can create custom web service and call this web service in both the applications. One to get value from first app and then second to set value in another app.

    I have existing 9.3.1 shared services, I created new environment with 9.3.3 .
    Can some one suggesting me how move the existing 9.3.1 users to another server where it has 9.3.3 shared services.

    You can use the cssimportexport utility.
    Even though this link is for 11.1.1.3 and states that its only for native users, you can in fact use the utility to migrate the provisioning of users both native and external: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_security/ch09s08.html
    FWIW, I prefer the .csv format because its ease of reading and editing.

    P.S. The format is really confusing -- use the export functionality to show you what the format needs to be if you change anything (and I think that at least some of the names of the apps/projects you will have in 9.3.3 will be a little different).
    P.P.S. I would imagine there's an upgrade path but that's beyond my expertise.

    I am not sure the command to use the SID to accomplish what you want to achieve, if you only know the SID, you could take use Powershell to find the related information, more information, please check:

    Go to  "user administration"-> Identitiy management place "Groups" in the Search Criteria then you will see the options for creating NEw Group
    at the time of Group creation there is a tab for Assigned users from there you can add users.
    Or you select the user name and click on modify and select Assigned groups and assign your group.

    1. You asked "how do I assign users to that group and later attach the group..." I think your question is not about how to assign users to a group but rather how to attach the group... Use the function wwv_flow_fnd_user_api.user_in_group in an authorization scheme (desc wwv_flow_fnd_user_api). Attach the scheme to a region, button, etc. to control access. Please read about authorization schemes in the user guide and search this forum for "authorization" and "groups" for useful threads.
    2. A user account without development privilege will be useful for authenticating to an application you create. It will not be useful for developing any applications in the Application Builder.

    Previously 401 client is there but at present it is not there .How can you justify it that it is 401 client.

    In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account.  The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
    Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

    Try using t.code SHD0, choose your transaction variant here, further choose your screen variant.
    Next select your screen variant and in the Menu bar select Variant> change with processing>Make repairs in foreign namespaces only if they are urgent> Continue(Enter)>again 'enter'>Object can only be created in SAP package>continue(enter)> Exit and save >This variant contains other screens, adopt these as well?>enter>enter> scroll down to the entry required by you make the necessary changes(Output only, invisible or required) and save.
    The system will prompt to assign a package and request enter the necessary values.
