How to map directory not under "document root" directory?

In Weblogic (5.1.0), how do you map one URL "directory" to a filesystem
directory that is not a subdirectory of the regular document root
directory?
This is, I want some URL "http://xxx.com/some/subset" to map to local
directory "/x/y" instead of mapping to a subdirectory "some/subset"
under the document root directory (the directory to which
"http://xxx.com/" maps).
How do you do this in Weblogic (using Weblogic as the HTTP server,
not using it plugged in to some other HTTP server)?
(In Apache, this would be the "Alias" directive.)
Thanks,
Daniel

Default registration for the file servlet is:
weblogic.httpd.register.file=weblogic.servlet.FileServlet
weblogic.httpd.initArgs.file=defaultFilename=index.html
So do this:
weblogic.httpd.register.some/subset=weblogic.servlet.FileServlet
weblogic.httpd.initArgs.some/subset=defaultFilename=index.html,docHome=d:
/foo/bar/baz

  • Any example on how to put csv files under context-root

    Hi All,
    Where to put csv files under context-root, so that if i give the file link like http://server-name:port/context-root/folder-name/filename.csv to the end user, he/she needs to download the file automatically to his/her machine.
    Any examples or pointing to other threads will be help for me and highly appreciated.
    Naga.

    Hi Puthanampatti,
    Thanks for your quick response, the usecase i have is when a pl/sql proc generates the csv file in the utl/tmp directory in our database, and that file will get moved to the specific folder in app server.
    now that folder needs to be under the context root, so that we can pass a http link to the user and if he clicks on the link that file needs to get download automatically with the same authentication what we have given to the application.
    ADF version used: 10.1.3.5
    oracle iAS version: 10.1.3.4.0
    Database versoin: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.5.0 - 64bi
    and also please guide us in which folder on the application server we need to move the files, so that whenever the user clicks on the link it should ask us the credentials. the security we used is LDAP authentication.
    thanks in advance.

  • How can I publish iWeb site in root directory in place of a prior site?

    Hi there... I have created a family web site and published it to my .mac account. The problem is that I had previously published another site and that site remains in the 'root' directory of my account. Practically, this means that if anyone types in:
    web.mac.com/[username]
    ... they will get my old site instead of the site i wish them to see... Is there any way I can move my new site so that typing the more simplified 'root' address (above) will bring up the site I wish for them to view?

    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Do you have both sites in iWeb together? If so, then simply look in the Site Organizer, select the site that you want to come up by the short URL and drag it to the top of the organizer. iWeb will make whatever site is at the top of the Site Organizer the default site. You should probably do a "Publish ALL to .Mac" after doing this so that all the files are in the right place. So once you do this you can access the default site with the short URL http://web.mac.com/yourname and then you can access the second site by using its URL directly... http://web.mac.com/yourname/iWeb/sitetwoname You could also provide links from site one to site two and vice versa to "link" the two sites together.

  • CGI directory conflicts with DOC root directory

    Hello.
    I have the following problem with Sun ONE Application Server 7 Update 3:
    I have to execute some CGI exe files on SOLARIS server. Exe files uses js and other files, and searches them in the predefined directory "/SOMEDIR/".
    So, in the App Server web admin console (http://...:4848) I set the DOCUMENT ROOT to the directory on the server the level upper than "/SOMEDIR/". And I add "/SOMEDIR/" as the CGI directory.
    After that the following happening:
    Then I enter the docroot: http://myserver/
    I can enter into all subdirectories of it BUT "/SOMEDIR/"!
    Then I execute CGI exe: http://myserver/SOMEDIR/my.exe
    than that my.exe doesn't have the access to the files in http://myserver/SOMEDIR/.
    Then I disallow CGI in admin console, than I gain access to the subdirectory SOMEDIR from the docrrot!
    Can anybody tell me what the problem could be?

    Right /cgi must reference a cgi and /servlet is for legacy servlets that arent deployed as applications.
    I dont think you are going to make it work like that, maybe do a redirect from /cgi/cginame to /servlet/servletname . That's the only thing that may work.

  • Home Directory not mounted in Active Directory environment

    I am trying to integrate a PowerMac G5 with Leopard 10.5.2 into an Active Directory. The Mac is bound to the AD without any problems. I can authenticate with my AD account and I also see the printers. However, I have problems using the network home directories.
    If I activate "Force local home directory on startup disk" everything works as expected: The user logs in and gets a local home directory under /Users and can mount its network home directory with the finder without the need to authenticate again, so the single-sign-on works.
    However, that's not what I want - I want the user to work solely in his networked home directory, not on the local disk. So I deactivate the button "Force local home directory on startup disk", but now the mount of the home directory fails. In the system.log I see the following:
    /usr/libexec/mount_url[123]: smb_mount: open session failed!: syserr = Broken pipe
    This is printed several times. If I try to access to automounted home directory under /Network/Servers/SERVER/USER in the terminal I also get "Broken pipe".
    The strange thing: I can access the home directory with smbclient, I can also mount it with mount_smbfs, but if I try it with /usr/libexec/mount_url it fails although I use the exact same server and user directory.
    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

    We have a similar issue here. Only the first AD User after reboot can login and the second one gets the same error as you. (see also: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6418268)
    It looks like there is a problem with the automounter. I set the AUTOMOUNT_TIMEOUT to 60 seconds in /etc/autofs.conf, then after logout of the first user and waiting for 1 minute, the second user can log in.

  • How to map an large XML document to the XMLType with TopLink in JDev

    Hello!
    We need to map an XML document in the Java String to an XMLType column. If the XML document has less than 4000 characters, we have no problems by using the DirectToField mapping. However, once the XML document has more than 4000 characters, using the DirectToField mapping, we got the error: Exception [TOPLINK-4002] (Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.0.0) (Build 060118)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException
    Internal Exception: java.sql.BatchUpdateException: ORA-01461: can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column
    Then we have tried to use the "Type Conversion" mapping, to map it to the database type (Clob or NClob --oracle.toplink.oraclespecific). we got:
    Exception [TOPLINK-4002] (Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.0.0) (Build 060118)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException
    Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected NUMBER got CLOB
    Error Code: 932
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks Matt! It works fine by using DirectToXMLTypeMapping.
    However, to get it work is not smooth. In particularly, we use Jdev in our project and Jdev has not included this feature yet. Therefore, I had to use the TopLink Workbench to create the descriptor file and cut&paste to the description file that generated by JDev. And also xdb.jar has to be part of the classpath.
    Then I come to an question -- how can we take some features that only provided by the TopLink Workbench into the Jdev environment without having to hack around?
    Thanks,
    s.c.

  • How  to read all files  under a folder directory in FTP site

    Hi Experts,
    I use this SQL to read data from a file in FTP site. utl_file.fopen('ORALOAD', file_name,'r');
    But this need to fixed file name in a directory. However, client generate output file with auto finename.
    SO do we have any way to read all file by utl_file.fopen('ORALOAD', file_name,'r');
    We need to read all file info. because client claim for security issue and does not to overwirte output file name,
    we must find a way to read all file in output directory.
    Thanks for help!!!
    Jim

    If you use Chris Poole's XUTL_FTL package, I believe that contains functions that allows you to query the directory contents.

  • How to check folder sizes of the root directory on my VPS/Dedicated server via Terminal?

    Hi,
    I have following issue.
    I have a VPS with Linux OS and I'd like to check size of the folders as well as remaining space on my server.
    How can I do that via Terminal?
    I would appreciate any input.

    login into your VPS server via terminal and cd into the root of your hosted space.  Then use the df -h command to see the listing
    for i.e.
    df -h /volumes/volume_1
    Filesystem             Size   Used  Avail Capacity iused      ifree %iused  Mounted on
    //john@ds00/volume_1  457Gi   12Gi  445Gi     3%       0 18446744073709551615    0%   /Volumes/volume_1
    for you it would be something like:
    df -h [email protected]/share (ip address)

  • ReportGen in TestStand Public Directory not overriding TestStand Application Directory

    I copied the reportgen_html.seq from C:\Program Files\National Instruments\TestStand 4.2.1\Components\Models\TestStandModels\ to
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 4.2.1\Components\Models\TestStandModels and customized it, but find that it will only run if I rename the original in the TestStand application directory.
    Is there something else I need to do to get the new report generator to be called correctly?
    Thanks!

    You need to copy the main model files (Sequential, Batch, or Parallel) to that directory too.  The reportgen is being called from those models, and it's finding them in the NI directory, then uses a relative path to find reportgen.  I would recommend copying everything from the NI Models directory to the Public directory to get everything to work.

  • 7210 - Specify different document root for a WAR/exploded application

              Hello,
              I would like to know how to specify a specific directory under my WAR/exploded
              directory as the
              document root instead of the standard application root directory as the document
              root directory.
              The following explains why I need that way..
              Our Source Code Control System consists of the following development directory
              hierarchy..
              /VOB/Application/
              /VOB/Application/Development/source/com/company/... *.java
              /VOB/Application/Development/docs/businessfunctionality1/*.jsp, *.html
              /VOB/Application/Development/docs/businessfunctionality2/*.jsp, *.html
              /VOB/Application/Development/docs/images/*.gif
              /VOB/Application/Development/Web-inf/web.xml
              /VOB/Application/Development/Web-inf/tlds/*.tld
              /VOB/Application/Development/Web-inf/lib/*.jar
              /VOB/Application/Development/Web-inf/classes/com/company/... *.class
              /VOB/Application/Design/*.doc, *.mdl
              With the above structure, the root directory of the applications is /VOB/Application/Development/

    Hi,
    You can't specify two different context root directly from your application unless until you specify " / " in context root and access application from two different host.
    Hope this should give you a clue.
    Regards,
    Kal

  • How to: Create a folder directly under the KM content 'Root' directory

    I need to create a new folder directly under the 'root' directory of the KM content...
    If I go to the KM root directory and click on any of the folders in it, I can create new folders.
    For example: clicking on the 'documents' folder. Opening it, I can create new folders by clicking on 'Folder' --> 'New' --> 'Folder'.
    However, when I am in the root directory itself, the only option under 'Folder' is 'Clipboard'.
    How can I create a new folder under the Root? Am I missing a role?
    Cheers,
    Edwin.

    You cannot create a folder under root directory
    all the folders that you are seeing under root are  KM Repositories.
    You need to create a repository and then in that you can create a folder structure.
    As an example Documetns is a standard SAP KM repository. You can also create your own repository under
    system admin-> system configuraiton->KM->CM-> Repository Managers
    There you can get options of creating the repositories
    Hope it is clear

  • How to create a directory for JSPs under infrastructure "root"?

    Hi,
    I'm not very familiar with Oracle 10gAS, but someone else got it configured and running on a Solaris 9 system, so my terminology may not be correct...
    We now have an "infrastructure" website (at port 7777) and an "ias" website (at port 8000).
    Right now, under the "infrastructure" website, we have the following applications:
    - sso
    - oiddas
    These all are "under" an OC4J instance called "OC4J_SECURITY".
    I need to somehow configure things so that I have a directory directly under the "root" of the "infrastructure" website (e.g., at http://<host>:7777/myjspdirectory) where I can run some JSPs. For example, I want to be able to put a JSP named "foo.jsp" and be able to access it at http://<host>:7777/myjspdirectory/foo.jsp.
    Is there a SIMPLE way to do this? If there is, can someone provide the specific steps (e.g., which directories, and files I need to create/modify)?
    It's not a "full" web application, so I don't want to have to create a WAR, etc.
    So far, I think that I need to add some "MountOc4j" lines to the mod_oc4j.conf file:
    Oc4jMount /myjspdirectory OC4J_SECURITY
    Oc4jMount /myjspdirectory/* OC4J_SECURITY
    But, after that I'm kind of lost :(...
    Is the only way to create a full WAR and then try to deploy it?
    Sorry if my question is somewhat confused, but I guess I am :(...
    Thanks in advance,
    Jim

    qlin,
    Ok, thanks.
    I've been working on creating a WAR the last several hours. I don't have 10g AS here at home, so I've been testing the deployment of the WAR on Tomcat.
    If the WAR deploys all right in something like Tomcat, will it deploy correctly in 10g AS also?
    Are there any "gotchas" that I should be aware of ahead of deploying the WAR on 10g AS?
    Also, I have a bunch of JSPs, but in the the web.xml that I'm using in my testing, it seems to work even though I don't list all of the JSPs. Here's what I have:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.2//EN" "http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_2.dtd">
    <web-app>
         <servlet>
              <servlet-name>foo1</servlet-name>
              <jsp-file>foo1.jsp</jsp-file>
         </servlet>
         <display-name>WhatEverNameYouWantDisplayed</display-name>
         <description>replace this with a short description</description>
         <welcome-file-list>
              <welcome-file>foo.html</welcome-file>
         </welcome-file-list>
    </web-app>
    Is that (only including one pair of <servlet-name> and <jsp-file> tags all right, or do I have to include a pair of tags for EACH JSP?
    Other than the above, hopefully things will go all right tomorrow... I'm going to have to undo the edits that I did manually on mod_oc4j.conf (the Mount...) and in server.xml before I try the WAR deploy, I think, right?

  • How do I embed a site map in the root directory?

    I am trying to find the root directory, so that I can embed the site map. Where is the root directory?

    Hi , thank you for your repy.
    I want to set up the user story default to have a 2 line entry in the tab prior to the user entering data
    I know I can enter a CR during editing
    For example I would like the details to to be (after creating new , before entering data) to be:
    Line1<o:p></o:p>
    CR<o:p></o:p>
    Line2
    <o:p></o:p>
    So the user enters data after the Line 2 heading
