How to measure time delayed measurement

Hi All:
I am using TDS3064 scope to measure time delay betwwen two channels (using IVI driver
complience package 2.2 for scope IVI driver). I look through drivers, but not able to find
delayed measurement function. Is there any alternate way to measure time delay betwwen two
channels. If possible please provide me example. I am new to LV programming.

You have to understand something about IVI class drivers. To support portability, those functions that are common to a class are what you see in the driver. Some scopes might have the ability to measure time delay between trigger points on different waveforms but many don't. If there is such a function supported by your scope, then you can make a call to the instrument specific driver or a VISA Write/Read. Of course, you then loose the portability feature of IVI which, imho, is about the only reason to use IVI class drivers. What I would recomend is that you do a capture of both traces and then do an analysis of the raw data in LabVIEW. One way to do this is with Trigger Detection for 1 Channel (Analyze>Waveform Monitoring palette). Wire each channels data to the function and obtain the time for each trigger event. The function will return the time for each event that you can use to calculate the difference.

i want to include time delay while drawing the shapes in the Canvas. I tried with Thread.sleep() and also delaying methods by making them to loop for large number of times.... but it affects the repainting of my Frame window like just previously executed snippet of the code gets repeated again and the delay between the shapes drawn cannot be visually seen..

Just got motorola s9, is time delay normal for bluetooth headsets?

As title says I just got a s9 headset and am very surprised by how good they sound with music ( haven't tried a call yet, I understand call quality *** ). Anyway I'm really noticing how bad the time delay is with these, they are completely useless for watching video and also playing tap tap revenge as the sound is a good second behind whats happening onscreen. Is this just the s9 or is this delay normal with bluetooth headsets?

There is a slight time delay with any Bluetooth headset that I have ever used for music, and yes it is useless for watching movies or playing games.
To play devils advocate I think if you are able to watching a movie or playing games, then you should also having no problem using wired headphones.

The PXI 1031 is just the chassis and power supply. It does not read anything. So I am guessing that the 5105 is doing the measurements.
What is the resistor value you are using to convert the current to voltage? Have you verified that the resistor is actually close to the nominal value? Is the voltage in the current loop within the common mode range of the measurement device? Do you have the loop grounded at two different points? Does the pressure actually exceed 62 bar? Does the current from the transducer actually go to 20 mA?
Your calculation is correct for a 1-5 V input corresponding to 0-100 bar.
You have several questions which all seem to be related to the same project. Do you have a good overall plan for the total project? Did someone sit down and create a specification for the hardware and the software? Have the various subsystems been designed in detail before you started developing code and buying hardware? Do you have a System Architect (Project Manager, or other title) who has a good overall idea of how this thing is supposed to work?
Without that you will likely continue to be frustrated and not too productive.

I am measuring voltage using NI DAQPad-6015. Without time delay loop, I can get the data. But what I want to do is to compare the data with that of following moment.
The delay time loop is used to aquire the next moment data. With this loop, it just stay at DAQmx AI Voltage. What's the problem?

There is the Profile>Performance and Memory option under the tools menu. I'm not sure if this is available with other than the professional version of LabVIEW. And, as I already mentioned, you have all of the time functions on the Timing palette. Call Tick Count or Get Date/Time in Seconds before you function and then again after the function is called. Subtract.

How to measure time in labview?

Hello,
I am using PCI-DAS card for Analog Input and Digital Output.
In the Analog Input for the voltage measurement labview takes near
about 1 second.But i want to reduce that time...means it has to take
one reading only in some miliseconds and there is no loops nothing
complicated just simple functions r there and as i run the vi it shows
one voltage reading.
I dont know how to reduce time period in this case.
And another thing is that i am saying this 1 second as per my
watch.but i want Labview itself shows the total time taken for the
execution.
Anybody knows about it please mail me and post the answer.

Fluorescence Time-delay Measurement using an Oscilloscope

Currently, I'm examining fluorescence through scanning through wavelengths on a monochrometer and averaging the signal on the oscilloscope, storing it all in an array and graphing in the end.
My goal is to time delay the value attributed to each wavelength in order to weed out rapidly decaying noise in my samples. The light source will be chopped, and a trigger line feeds into the oscilloscope.
Can this be done either:
through adjusting instrumental settings (I'm using a Tektronix 220, interfacing through GPIB)
or through manipulation of a triggered output waveform using integration with specified boundaries relative to the trigger time?

How to measure the baseline of a noisy, pulsed signal

Hi
I am measuring the torque exerted by a large motor on a shaft using a load cell and lever arm. The shaft runs at approx 150 rpm. I have attached a drawing that shows the output I get. This is a test rig.
I have written some code that measures the maximum peak out of a group of approx 5 peaks and writes this to a shift register. This gives me an idea of the maximum torque "spike".
I also wish to measure the baseline torque (due to the bearings in the machine). Even when highly filtered (my noise filter is set to 49Hz) the signal exhibits this noise which is probably due to vibration in the system. The signal is zeroed when the motor is not running.
Does anyone have an ideas on how to measure the "baseline" torque? The large spike in torque prevents me from doing a running average. Can anyone think of a way of averaging just the noisy part of the signal to get an average value? I aim to to subtract the average baseline torque from the peak value to get an idea of the torque due to the event which causes
the spike.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you are saying. However, I might have to modify my method for measuring the peaks if I choose to implement your idea. I have taken a screenshot of my "peak finder" code and attached it.
Bascially, the reset terminal is wired to a timer which outputs a pulse every few seconds. This resets the vi (a standard NI one I think) and sets the peak magnitude back to zero. This way, I am windowing the signal and measuring the maximum peak in every window. This is what I need to do.
So I could use a logical filter to feed data to the running average only if;
the amplitude of the signal is less than a certain threshold
and if the current value has similar low peaks either side of it
How would you construct the code to delay the evaluation so that the values in front and behind of the current data point can be analysed?

How to measure the time taken to by the extractor when executed from rsa3 for a given selection?
Lot of threads speak about ST05... but these transactions are too granular to analyse.
How to get the overall time taken.i need the overall time taken and the time taken by the individual SQL statements... please provide specific pointers.

I need to continuously acquire data from daqmx card, write into a file and at the same time corelate (in terms of time) the data with signals from other instruments. The current problem is that there is time delay during read and write data into buffer,thus causing misalignment of the data from multiple instruments. Is there a way to solve the delay? or Is there a way to mark the time of the data acquisition in the buffer? If I know the starting time (e.g. 0) of data acquisition and sampling rate (e.g. 1kHz), can I simply add 1ms to each data sample in the buffer? The current code is shown below.

Hello kgy,
It is a bit of a judgment call. You should just choose the board that you think has the most to do with your issue. For example, this issue was much more focused on setting up your data acquisition task than the Measurement Studio environment/tools, so the MultifunctionDAQ board would have been the best place for it. As for moving your post to another board, I do not believe that is possible.

I see the top 5 waited events listing CPU time in it.
