How to migrate 'sudoers' file to OID 11g

I have configured OID 11.1.1.4 with OAS4OS for Enterprise Linux Red Hat 5 server and successfully added 'passwd.ldif' and 'group.ldif' files. However, the migration script 'migrate_common.sh' did not migrate any 'sudoers' file. I am now following this link - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e16454/migrate.htm#CHDFEFDF to download and compile 'sudo' file and then manually add 'sudoers' file to OID after manually creating a 'sudoers' container.
My questions are:
1) Are there any other updated migration scripts to automate 'sudoers' migration process?
2) Which 'sudo' package to download from - http://www.gratisoft.us/sudo site? Should I download the package from 'http://www.gratisoft.us/sudo/download.html' and follow 'http://www.gratisoft.us/sudo/readme_ldap.html' to compile the 'sudo' package with LDAP option?
3) Do I need to migrate files other than 'passwd.ldif', 'group.ldif', and 'base.ldif' beside 'sudoers' to OID, or this is it?
4) If someone has a cheat sheet for 'sudoers' migration, then please share it.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Abid

Thanks. I am going to upgrade to SUDO 1.8 as have 1.7.x installed. But I need exact steps to migrate sudo users if I do not need to re-compile SUDO with the LDAP option?
I tried to compile it yesterday but the make command complained that it could not find 'ldap.h' and 'lrep.h' file.
Can someone point me to steps to migrate and configure OID for 'sudoers' on Linux Red Hat?

  • How to use sudoers file

    Dear admins
    I need to create a script which does delete some files with "sudo" and password before a program (ChronoSync) does start a backup.
    The main script is like this:
    #!/bin/sh
    # Some explanations and descriptions about the script
    cd /Volumes/Data\ Drive/TimeMachine/
    sudo rm -r *.sparsebundle
    I did save this as "Delete_TM_script.sh" in "/usr/local/bin"
    With chown root:wheel "delete_TM_script.sh" I did set the proper UID/GID
    With chmod 4755 "delete_TM_script.sh" I did set trhe access rights.
    With sudo visudo /etc/sudoers I did edit this file to ad the following line.
    # User privilege specification
    root          ALL=(ALL) ALL
    %admin          ALL=(ALL) ALL
    ladmin          ALL=NOPASSWD: /usr/local/bin/Delete_TM_script.sh <-- This is the supplement line
    Now if I start this script in the terminal as the user "ladmin" (Local Administrator) through "/usr/local/bin/Delete_TM_script.sh" I get the message that I have to enter the password for this account.
    I thought that with the addition in the sudoers file, I could let run the script without asking for password.
    Does anyone know how to accieve this in the right way?
    Reading the man pages of sudoers didn't help much. It made my head more confused.
    Thank you ahead for anyones help and suggestions.
    Regards
    Thomas

    Hello Camelot and John
    Thank you both for your replay.
    According your feedbacks I did the following on my testsystem under SLS 10.6.8.
    I did create a new script as follows.
    #!/bin/sh
    # Starte Script mit sudo
    sudo /usr/local/bin/Delete_TM_script.sh
    Then I did change the script which does the job to the following entries.
    #!/bin/sh
    # Some explanations and descriptions about the script
    cd /Users/ladmin/Desktop/Test\ Folder
    rm -r *.sparsebundle
    Now I did change the sudoers file as follows.
    # User privilege specification
    root ALL=(ALL) ALL
    %admin ALL=(ALL) ALL
    ladmin ALL=NOPASSWD: /usr/local/bin/Delete_TM_script.sh, /usr/local/bin/start_script.sh
    If I quit the terminal and reopen it and run the script "start_script.sh" I get asked for the admin password, which I thought I could go around it with this procedure.
    What did I miss or what did I do wrongly?
    Any idea?

    Hi Rajesh,
    You can also do it like this.
    run dsc <program name> => Copy the output to a .txt file and in the end of this txt file after "END" insert a enter.
    upload this file to physical location of a oracle directory(ensure that the user has access to this directory).

  • How to migrate stickies files to 10.7

    how can I migrate the "Stickies" data from 10.5 to 10.7?

    Problem solved, here's the follow up. . .
    I finally gave up and hired a local Mac networking consultant to help me sort it out. I found him via my local Apple store biz person - good to know they have resources. The consultant is an Apple certified system administrator, etc. and knew his stuff.
    My apologies for not being able to offer details on exactly what he did, but basically he went into the old G4 Server's Terminal and changed all the file permissions to have admin as the owner and everything r/w. A few files gave him trouble, but he worked it out. I think he used rsync to move all the files from old to new computer. . .also to check it to make sure all the files actually transferred. We did the transfer via direct ethernet connection instead of over the network, which greatly enhanced the speed. He created simple new ACL's on the new computer for ownership permissions for all files. He also set up the additional internal hard drives I'd previously installed in the new computer as a mirrored RAID setup and helped us streamline our backup routines for local and offsite. We're trying out CrashPlan for the backups. We're now good to go. . .

  • How to migrate translation file XLIFF to server

    Hi,
    I was trying to translate one of my layouts. The layout is in English. I used Tools->Translation->Extract text to get .XML file. In this file, I made the translations manually in <target> tags. When I preview it on my m/c, its working fine.
    Now, I want to move it to my server so that I can run it fom apps. I am not sure how to do it. Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Varun

    I assume you are using EBS, you need to go to Template manager, find this template, and add language translation, and upload this xliff file
    You can preview, if the data definition has sample xml file
    When you run concurrent manager program, you will see option for language, now select your language and the report will show in that language.

  • How to migrate files from "ORACLE EPM 11" to OBIEE 10g / 11g

    Hi
    We are moving from ORACLE EPM 11 to OBIEE 10g or 11g .
    Can anyone suggest me how to migrate the files from ORACLE EPM11 to OBIEE 10g ?
    Regards
    Vinod.

    It would be a good idea to specify the version you are using.
    The general plan can be the following:
    A. On source db:
    1. Generate scripts for the tablespaces where the schema you want to export has segments (again use toad or ther tools)
    2.Generate scripts for the schema you want to export (use toad, dbms_metadata or other tools)
    3. Generate scripts for system grants, system roles, privileges you have on objects owned by sys, system, quotas on tablespaces
    4. If the schema has grants on sys objects that are not part of the default oracle install but were created later and are specific to that particular db (not a good practice, but it can hapen) and your application is dependent on them, generate scripts for them also (I have come across types owned by sys, when migrating an application with Websphere AS)
    5. export schema using exp owner=<SCHEMA_NAME>
    6. generate scripts for public synonyms and grants to public on object schema
    B. On target db.
    1. create tablespaces with generated scripts from A.1.
    2. create schema with generated scripts from A.2.
    3. grant all privileges from A.3.
    4. if non default objects on sys needed, create them with scripts from A.4., grant privileges on these objects
    5. imp with option fromuser=<SCHEMA_NAME> touser=<SCHEMA_NAME>
    6. create public synonyms, grants from A.6.
    7. check jobs - if you import with sys or system user, jobs will be imported under this users; drop jobs nad recreate jobs under your schema
    I hope I haven't forget anything and this helps...

  • How to migrate BPM 11g server to another BPM 11g server

    Hi All,
    There is no change on BPM version (BPMN Editor 11.1.1.3.0.6.84 )
    just simply a physical migrate, changed application server, DB and server domain/IP
    Now we met questions when migrate DB date, there are four schemas DEV_MDS、DEV_SOAINFRA、DEV_ORABAM、DEV_ORASDPM, cannot used including install config settings, could not be used any more, could not be started.
    Is there any guide of how to migrate just user data please?
    Thanks for any help!
    Regards,
    Katherine

    Migration of environment should really be done through backup tools that ensure a consistent point-in-time view of the data. We recently had a need to use import/export for an environment. I'll post those notes here hopefully save some time if you have to use this approach. But I'll emphasize again that a backup/restore model is the better way to go.
    What we did
    We took an environment that had a small set of BPM processes and exported the data from the three core schemas.
    •     PS2_MDS
    •     PS2_SOAINFRA
    •     PS2_ORASDPM
    We then loaded that data into another domain, started the server, and interacted with the composites that had originally been deployed in another domain.
    What we didn’t do
    •     Export complex composites. We didn’t have access to things like AIA applications
    •     Export large amounts of data
    •     Test a broad set of features. We did use Workspace to create roles, view dashboard, and interact with task lists.
    What we learned
    We believe this confirmed the basic assumption that data can be exported from one BPM/SOA environment, then loaded and run in another environment. However the issues around user privileges, starting queues, etc, highlight the need to test the process in a broader context.
    Tools Used
    Data Pump
    Data Pump is an import/export tool provided by Oracle. A summary of features can be found at:
    http://wiki.oracle.com/page/Data+Pump+Export+%28expdp%29+and+Data+Pump+Import%28impdp%29
    SQL*Plus
    Used to run scripts
    Setup
    Create Users
    The data pump export will include privilege information in the export. And the data pump import will create users in the target database (assuming sufficient privileges for the user running the import). However we found that some roles related to AQ were not granted during the import. To resolve that issue we created scripts to pre-create the schema users and grant required privileges in the target environment.
    TODO:
    1.     Review the required privileges to see if there are data pump options that would resolve this
    2.     Verify that there are no additional privileges needed by applications in the target integration environment.
    Create Output Directory
    Data Pump needs to have access to the file system from the database.
    Make sure that the output directory is writable by the DB process.
    From SQL*Plus:
    create directory dbexport as '/scratch/ dbexport';
    grant read,write on directory dbexport to system;
    Export Data For Selected Schemas
    The Data Pump tool supports providing a list of schemas to export as part of a single operation. In this test case we exported the following core BPM schemas to a single file. The commands are in the do_exp.sh script.
    •     PS2_MDS
    •     PS2_SOAINFRA
    •     PS2_ORASDPM
    TODO:
    1.     Verify space required for the target database to ensure that there is sufficient space to export the data.
    Import Data into Target Schemas
    Data Pump supports mapping schema names and table spaces as part of the import specification. In this case we used the same Oracle instance, so the schemas were mapped to new names. The PS2 prefix was mapped to XYZ.
    Note that the OID transform property is required to avoid conflicts with existing object Identifiers.
    impdp system/welcome1 DIRECTORY=dbexport DUMPFILE=bpm.dmp transform=oid:n \
    REMAP_TABLESPACE=PS2_MDS:XYZ_MDS \
    REMAP_TABLESPACE=PS2_SOAINFRA:XYZ_SOAINFRA \
    REMAP_TABLESPACE=PS2_IAS_ORASDPM:XYZ_IAS_ORASDPM \
    REMAP_SCHEMA=PS2_MDS:XYZ_MDS \
    REMAP_SCHEMA=PS2_SOAINFRA:XYZ_SOAINFRA \
    REMAP_SCHEMA=PS2_ORASDPM:XYZ_ORASDPM \
    TODO:
    1.     Check the log for errors. The only errors we saw were related to trying to build stats on empty indexes.
    2.     Identify any other schemas being used
    3.     Verify if any other transform operators are needed
    Post Import
    Start Queues
    SOA infrastructure makes use of queues in the DB server. While the queue structures were created, they were not started as part of the import. The start_queues.sql script starts the queues.
    TODO:
    1.     Verify if there are any other queues that need to be started/configured
    2.     Verify if there are any other Stream/Queuing configuration tasks needed
    Update Data Sources on WLS
    Assuming an existing installation of SOA, the datasources need to be updated to use the new schemas.
    Start Domain and Verify Logs
    It’s important to check the admin and managed server logs for errors related to composite instances and MDS operations.
    Verify Composite State
    Log into EM and ensure that the state of instances is consistent with the prior state.
    Verify Application Roles and Role Mappings
    Since the composites are loaded from MDS, there will be no deployment to create application roles. If the environment is using LDAP or DB, then the validation is to check the mappings through Workspace. If the old environment used a file store, then you’d have to crate the role mappings through Workspace.
    Verify Workspace Operations on Existing Instances
    Verify that task list operations and dashboards are functional.

    AFAIK, this is not the correct way to set the image location.
    We call the working directory as context, so inside the context root along with WEB-INF, maintain a folder with name img and put all the images in that directory.
    You can use either .\<image_folder> or the optimum way would be (if you are using JSPs) to use getContext() method and traverse accordingly.
    FYI,,, using getContext() will give you context root directory, from there it is as simple as accessing any other folder.
    Hope this answers your question.
    Cheers,
    Jeets.
