How to mirror my Ipad to a pc?

Question

Please help me?  My wife is a teacher and I got her a ipad 2 and she needs to use it with her smart board.  If she could mirror the ipad to her computer she would be able to use the apps that she has downloaded to her ipad.  Then the students could see what she is doing on her ipad.  Thank you!

We had a similar need for use in classrooms as well as when delivering professional development in large meeting rooms. 
There are two different options, although I think you are looking for option 2.
1)  Remote-controlling a PC with an iPad
What we are using is an iPad connected to the same wireless network as the PC (we are using a mobile internet modem, but you can also do it using an iPhone/Android personal wi-fi hotspot or apparently a small router such as an Air Express).  We have Splashtop Whiteboard on the iPad and Splashtop Streamer on the PC.  The PC connects to the projector via HDMI (streams audio), VGA, etc.  Apparently Doceri is another app that does a similar job, but is more expensive.
This allows us to control the PC wirelessly from the iPad and works quite well.
2) Using an iPad only
When we want to display the iPad's own screen and apps on the projector, it goes iPad  (with mirroring activated) > Wi-Fi network > Apple TV > Digitech HDMI-to-VGA Converter (expensive! - don't buy a cheap adaptor, they don't work) > Projector/TV
This apparently has some limitations if you try to display copy-protected media, although we have not run into that problem ourselves.
We use a lot of PDF's so it is worth look at a PDF annotation app if that appeals to you - look for iAnnotate, PDF expert, neu.Annotate and their competitors.
