How to monitor connections to RAC (SOADataSource-RAC0/RAC1) ?

I work on an enterprise environment with 2 Oracle DB RAC (0/1).
Is there any way to monitor the connections to the RAC DB from Entreprise Manager 11g (Oracle Fusion Middleware) ?

I'm confused how client connect to RAC,
1) According to this:

so, seems client just make sure using service name instead of SID, it will be connect to RAC. the URL format is same as single non-RAC enviroment

if so, adding a node will require all of client modify connect url?
3) my understanding is client only need to specify VIP to any one of node, and speicify global service name (all node should share same service name), this will make RAC connection setup (similar to above (1)), but I'm not sure if my understanding correct or not in the following senario:
-- a) what if client using public ip (not VIP) to one of node, but using global service name?
-- b) what if client using VIP to one of node, but using it's SID instead of global service name?

Any how:-
Remember no matter how convoluting it looks it is the same.
1 Tns Entry
If you add a node then yes you have to publish it.
There are other alternatives such as Oracle Names [old]
internect directory , ldap and so on, beyond the scope of this discussion.

Now see The same string from DESCRIPTION onwards goes to jdb thin client, it
is the same thing...
Also the host1 host2 are all VIPS'
Also you need failover , load balance thingies in there

non vip, Test it out, tns should hop over it .
but TAF /FAN won't work.

You have to use SERVICENAME, if you are using SID then you are pretty
much connecting to 1 node.

How to monitor connected users on filesharing in OS 10.9.1

I'm trying to identify connected users to my Mac running OS 10.9.1. I know there are users logged on via filesharing since I get a message saying that there are (e.g. 2) users logged on when I try to restart. In the past I used AFPstatus 1.5, but doesn't seem to provide information on connected users like it did in earlier OS's.
Is there a simple terminal command since netstat command gives a long list of stuff which is mostly gibberish to me.

My Mac IT guru here called Apple Support and their only recommendation was to buy Mavericks Server, which is now only $20, and use as a utility to monitor logged-on users. Seems like overkill plus our IT doesn't like us to run our own server. I suspect this could be done through the terminal?

Do not understand your question. What do you imply by "a specific service"?
There are numerous "layers" to a RAC. The voting disk for the CRS daemons. If this is OCFS, then there is the ocfs kernel module underneath this and the mount that needs to be performed. Then there is the ASM instance. The RAC instance. Per node.
Each RAC instance have register different services that are "published" via the the listener. Oh yeah - a listener service on each node.
There is also the Interconnect that can be monitored. Never mind the o/s of each node ito resource utilisation (memory, CPU and network).
Nor should we forget that ASM itself runs on top of some shared storage mechanism (e.g. SAN drivers) which also can be monitored.
So to determine WHAT you want to monitor, you first need to know WHY you want to monitor.
What is the purpose? The business goal or requirement that you're trying to achieve?
And no - performance management is not drawing a bunch of pretty graphs with dips and spikes and not having the faintest clue what that is saying.

I read that Display Port has higher band width than DVI, NEC monitors for best performance they recommend using DIsplay Port.
When I was setting this up I looked at a Nvidia Quadro 4000, unfortunately it was for PC, it had 2 Display Ports, in the Mac version they reduce it to one. I did not think there could be a difference.
Mainly want to use it for CS6 and LR4.
How to proceed???
I do not want to use the Quadro 4000 for both, that would not optimize both monitors, one DP and 1 DVI. Using just the 5770 would work but I do not think the 4000 would be doing anything, and the 5770 has been replaced by the 5870.more bandwidth.
Any ideas, I am a Mac newbie, have not ever tried a Mac Pro, just bought off ebay and now I have these problems.
As a last resort I could sell both and get a 5870. That would work, I'm sure of that, it's just that I wanted the better graphics card.

I am a novice at Mac so I read all I can. From what I understand the NEC monitors I bought require Display Port for their maximum performance. The GTX 680 only has DVI outputs. Difference from what I understand is larger bandwidth with the DP.
You said I have the 4000 for CUDA. I am not all that familiar with CUDA and when I do read about it I do not understand it.
A concern I have is, that if I connect the 2 high end NEC monitors via the 5770, using it's 2 Display Ports I would have nothing connected to the 4000. Is the 4000 doing anything with nothing connected? I read where in a PC system the 2 cards would interact but in a Mac system they do not.
Bottom line, as I see it, the 4000 will not be useful at all to me, since I want a dual monitor set-up.
So far the 5870 seems the best choice, higher band width than the 5770, and it has 2 Display Ports to optimize the NEC monitors.
I'm not sure how fine I am splitting hairs, nor do I know how important those hairs are. I am just trying to set up a really fast reliable system that will mainly be used for CS6 and LR4. Those NEC monitors are supposed to be top notch.

I have a USB to DVI adapter from kensington. I use to use it to power at 14" display.Moving windows around had some tearing and lag. Typing lagged, but it was use-able. It was fine for displaying diffrent stats. The OS treated it as it would any additional display.
But I found it undesirable for any thing tha requires lots dragging and clicking.
Every so often the device would lock up. At witch point the computer would get stuck trying to detect the USB display. I would have to unplug the adapter, cycle the power on the adapter. And then it would be good for a couple more months.
Also some times after a reboot, the adapter would stop working. I would have to unplug it, and login, and then plug it back in.
Coping file to my USB 2 harddrive seemed to cause more lag to the USB to Video Adapter.
About the idea of dasiy chaining 3 Thunderbolt display tgeother. Apple Thunderbolt Display (27-inch): Connection options for Thunderbolt Macs states the most the current MacBook Pro 15 & 17 inch can currently drive is 2 Apple Thunderbolt Displays.
