How to move /boot to /

My /boot is full. Was too small to begin with, only 32 mb. And finally today i could not upgrade linux package. It said no more room.
I do not want to deal with resizing partitions. Rather i want to simply copy /boot folder to folder under / and reconfigure system to boot from it.
How do i do that? What do i need to change in grub2 config and fstab to make it work?
Another temporary solution could be just deleting some unnessesary files in /boot folder. But i'm afraid to do that because i do not know which ones are unnecessary
There are for example files grub.cfg.example, grub.cfg.pacnew and grub.cfg.pacsave that i'm pretty sure i can delete. Just wanted to confirm.

Boot from a live distro, mount the partition containing / to /mnt/main the partition containing /boot to /mnt/boot then copy /mnt/boot to /mnt/main.
Then remove the "/boot" entry from your fstab, (arch-)chroot into Arch & reinstall GRUB.
As ewaller has noted: this will not work if you intend to boot-up in EFI-mode...

I am considering the installation of a new 80 or 100 GB hard drive. I purchased the new iLife 06 program but I do not have enough space to install on my present 60 GB unit. I only have 3 GB available. I've read all the posts involving the possible brands, downloaded the instructions how to swap out the units. The easiest way is buy an external firewire enclosure and put your new drive in it. Then format your new drive. then use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy your internal drive onto your new drive. Then install your new drive and put your old one in the enclosure. You are now in business with an external backup on your old drive.

How do you boot up from a 2nd drive?

I will be installing a 2nd drive and doing a clean instal of 10.6. How do I boot up from this drive, and then how do I transfer the files, favopurites and email etc across?

You asked if it transferred every folder. I answered that Migration Assistant does not transfer the old System, only your User files. Every single User file.
Once you have finished transferring your User files, you can stop using the old system drive, or even remove it and set it aside on a shelf as a backup, or wait a week or two and and re-use it for something else.
Once you boot from a new System drive, / (the root directory) is located on the new Boot Drive, and new /Users is created there, and everything is referenced from there. Move your User files over as well, and the old drive will not be referenced any more.

Upgraded to 10, How to move from HDD to SSD? (Y-Series Laptop)

Howdy all, I have a Lenovo Y Series Laptop that came with a combo HDD/SSD. I assumed that Windows would be installed on the SSD, leaving the HDD for everything else. Turns out this isn't the case. The SSD is currently at 22.6g free of 24.9, and I'm honestly not sure if it's a totally separate drive, or if it's integrated into the HDD somehow.. I am trying to figure out how to move windows onto the SSD potion of the hard drive, but just want to make sure I'm not forgetting something. Welcome to the Forums.
Using the parts lookup page to check the hard drive specs on models 80FA002CUS and 80FA002DUS, those machines are configured with an SSHD (1TB HDD with a built-in 8GB SSD cache).
The 22.6 GB free of 24.9 GB that you're seing is likely the D:\ drive, which is a partition of the 1TB HDD (you can verify this by opening up Disk Management)
As for upgrading to Windows 10:
1. Ensure that you have a backup copy of your files before upgrading and create a recovery drive just in case.
2. Before you can clean install Windows 10, you will need to upgrade your current installation (e.g., Windows 8.1) first to Windows 10 and activate. Once this is done, you can proceed in doing a clean install. If you proceed in doing a clean install on first attempt, you may not be able to activate Windows.

Note that doing a clean install will definitely remove all preloaded apps and drivers, thus, you will need to reinstall them back (some proprietary preloaded apps though doesn't have an Installer due to license limitation)
3. After upgrading Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, some preloaded apps and drivers may have limited functionality or may not work at all. Thus, you will need to update to the latest Windows 10 drivers (if available).

4. In case you get issues with the upgrade, you can always refresh Windows 10 or go back to the previous Windows build or by doing a system recovery then re-upgrade.

5. If you're leaning towards an SSD upgrade (e.g., 256GB or 500GB), you will need to migrate the OS from the SSHD to the SSD and upgrade to Windows 10. If you have already originally upgraded though on the stock drive, you can clean install Windows on the new SSD.

Move boot volume

How to move my boot drive to another volume? I know how to change the boot drive in system settings. I have three drives in my Mac Pro and want to permanently change to call it drive 2, a larger disk in bay 2 of my pro. I have a clone of the Macintosh disk using CCC. Seems like I can just boot to this, which works but, how do I make that change permanent ? Then, use bootcamp to dual boot unix?

I get it, now that I have looked at Startup Disk preferences again. I have not yet used Bootcamp. I use Parallels to run Window in my OSX drive.
I should have been more specific. I actually want to run the Ubuntu build of Linux. More of a learning thing than any specific need. I am running it now, but using Vbox, which is a free virtualization manager from Oracle. Parallels did not want to install Ubuntu.
This might turn out to be shortlived anyway; so maybe best to leave well enough alone. Helped me to understand Boot Camps provisions. Thanks

How to move video inside LR 4?

Could anyone please explain to me how to move a video, from one folder to another inside LR 4?
I've moved pictures from one folder to another inside LR 4 several times before, I just marked the pics I wanted to move, and draged them to the desired folder, but I can't do it with these videos........
The arrow in the left side , in folders, pointing to the folder I wish to move, is greyed out, as if something is wrong, can't figure out why.....
If I right click on the selected videos, there's no "move" option.......

Actually I'm not able to drag and drop any of my video files anymore....must be something "newbie" stuff :/
I've attached a screenshot, and the videos I want to move, are inside the ¨DIGITAL....¨ folder, but as said, I'm not able to move them anywhere...... Could it be that I've ¨locked¨something when messing around in LR 4??
The Greyed out arrow is normal, as I see it now...
what could I possible be doing wrong here?

How to move the "back" button to the top ?

I had some sub-menus and iDVD auto generate the "FORWARD" and "BACKWARD" buttons in the shape of a triangle. Problem is this buttons are alwayd at the bottom and I do not seem to be able to move the buttons around.
Any tips on how to move these buttons to other places ?

I can't figure out how to move my playlist folders to my iPod

I have a 5th Generation iPod and I am using it with the latest version of iTunes on a dare I say it Windows machine.
I organize my playlists in folders on my iTunes. When I sync to my iPod those folders do not carry over, but the playlists in those folders do not. I have sorted through the manual, the options on both iTunes and my iPod and this website, and for the life of me I can't even find a mention of how to move these folders over to my iPod.

Although iTunes supports the use of folders in the manner you describe, unfortunately the iPod does not.

I have an Ipod classic, and am trying to figure out how to move a video file from the "Movie" section to the "Tv Shows" section. I have Itunes version 1.3 which for my device is listed as the most current version.

Photoshop elements 8 for Mac - how to move photos (events) from iphoto to pse

I have figured out how to move one photo over through opening a file. But I can't move a full event or album from iphoto. Ive tried going to bridge but when i click on the iphoto folder, it takes me into my iphoto and I'm not sure what do then, no buttons or anything that seems to connect to PSE. Any help would be appreciated! I wish Adobe supported this product better for Mac users. Maybe they read these discussions?

Are you opening iPhoto files from within Photoshop Elements? You can open all the files in an iPhoto event into PSE8 through a single click.
In Photoshop Elements, go to File menu > Open. In the browser window that appears, click Photos under Media in the sidebar. Now, you should be able to see iPhoto with all its events. When you click on an event and "Open" it, you should get all the photos of that event in the project bin.

I want to a large # of clips from both cams. and have them move to the correct TC position on the timline. In Nuendo eith audio u hit apple a or ctrl a right click move to orgin. Avid will take care of it for u. FCP???

If you read the "Apple Pro Training Sereis; Final Cut Pro 5" book, it's very easy. You can sync the clips manually by setting In or Out points, specifying TC, or using one of the two Aux TC fields. Since this is the first, and most basic step in doing Multiclip editing, I'd suggest you get the book, or read the appropriate section of the User Manual. I don't think anyone wants to post a full "how to" article in a forum.
It can be done, you're clips have to all have been recorded with synced TC, or they simply won't sync up in any NLE. Read the book. Cause even if I did have the time to explain FCP's Multiclip editing in this forum, you'd still have questions that are in the book.
If you actually walk through the first steps of building a Multiclip to edit, it's blatatnly obvious in the first step. I'd give it a try first.
Problem is the DVCPRO-HD codec is going to require a higher end Mac with tons of RAM and either RAID, or internal drives to do a DVCPRO-HD Multiclip, as DVCPRO-HD (P2) is a pretty high bandwidth codec. I use it daily, I know, it takes horsepower to do.
