How to pass local variables between different sequence files?

Actually i want to pass the data (local variable) from my process model file to a client file. The client file only has the callbacks and those callbacks require some parameters as input which is available in local variables of my process model sequence file. I do not want to use Station Globals.
Please tell me any other way by which i can pass that data.

Which Locals do you want from the model. Every sequence has it's own Locals and there are a bunch of sequences in every process model. Do you want the entry point's Locals? A callback's Locals? Just one of the sequence's Locals? Some Models have way more entry points than others. What if your sequence file is ran with a different entry point?
One option is to create your own callback in the model and pass the data to it as parameters. Then add that callback to your client sequence file and get it out of the parameters.
If you simply want the entry point's locals and you are in your Main Sequence then you could use RunState.Caller.Locals.VariableName. This assumes you will use the same entry point every time you run that sequence file. Or assumes that every entry point you run has the same Local variable name.
Maybe there is an API method that exposes what you are looking for. What is your goal?

Hey,
Does anyone know how to pass a variable (string) from one swf
to another if there in separate html pages?
I assume I’d have to send the variable from the first
page and load it into the second but I don’t know what
functions or code I should be using. Any suggestions would be a

How to access _global variables in different domain

i am loading a swf in local and this has to be communicate the swf which was in the server(different domain). using the system.security.allowdomail i can access the variables, but i can't able to access _global variable.
Pls tell how to access _global variable in different domain

It should work the way you mentioned it. I don't see why it
didn't unless there is a spelling mistake or something. If there
is you should have a got an error message. :-)
I actually don't recommend using globals at all, I would rather
use a PL\SQL Package Specification to define Global Variable.
These variables are valid for the duration of the Session and
they are restricted to Char(255) limit. It reduces the number of
mistakes when converting dates and Such. It also forces the
developers to place all the globals in one place instead of
multiple places. Read Feurstein's book on PL\SQL Programming for
more details.

Hi Sutrtha,
Yeah I got the pop up asking to select the variables used, I have selected ENTITY_ID that was used by the interfaces, but on execution of the package the Scenario did not work as the passeed variable #ENTITY_ID is set to 0 instead of the value I am passing.
Am I missing something?

I didn't bother reading the code, since you didn't format it.
But to answer your question (if I understand it correctly), yes, it is possible to pass variables between different object instances (not from an interface specifically, since interfaces don't have members). The simplest way to pass the variable as an argument to a method or constructor. If these aren't available, you could create a static global variable, though in a multithreaded app you'd have to synchronize access.

How to Pass O.I. Settings from Sequence to O.I.?

If I don't use customstrings.txt, may I pass the settings include application titles, and those string from TestStand Sequences?
It will be better if the test station have to frequently switch between different sequence and display what it is running.

I'm not sure if I understand your question completely. However, I will try and answer my best and if this does not answer your question, please respond with a clearly defined question.
First, I could not find a file names customstrings.txt. There are some files that are used for language translation purposes, but from your post it doesn't look like you want to use these either. They don't allow you to dynamically change any strings.
If you have string data that is stored in your TestStand sequence and you want to somehow display this information in your TestStand Operator Interface, probably the best solution would be to use UI Messages. UI Messages allow you to send information from your TestStand sequence through the TestStand Engine to your Operator Interface. Then when the information is in the Operator Interface, you can change values of your Operator Interface program.
Using UI Messages is broken down into 2 steps, posting the UI Message and receiving the UI Message. To post a UI Message from your TestStand sequence, simply use the ActiveX adapter to call the TestStand API method PostUIMessage (or PostUIMessageEx if you are using TestStand 3.0). You identify the message you are posting with a unique number above 10000 as one of the method's parameters. You can also pass string, numeric, or ActiveX data with the UI Message. This method will pass the data to the TestStand Engine.
Once the TestStand Engine receives the UI Message, it will send the UI Message to either the TestStand Sequence Editor or to the TestStand Operator Interface, depending on what application is currently being used to run the sequence. If the sequence editor is used, custom UI Messages are discarded.
If in the Operator Interface, there is a section of the code that explicitly handles these UI Messages. Depending on what version of TestStand you are using and what programming environment you are using, this is handled differently. On a high level, all of the different operator interfaces handle UI Messages by receiving and sorting UI Messages by the UIMessageCode (the number that identifies what kind of UI Message was sent). Then based upon that number, the program determines what to do. This is usually implemented using a case or switch statement.
In your case, whenever you receive this custom UI Message, you can retrieve the string data and write that string value to your Operator Interface value you wish to change.
If this concept of using UI Messages does not seem to be a plausible solution, please respond including a more detailed problem description.

How to pass environment variables in Host file

Hi Gurus,
I'm having a requirement where I need to send my report output file as an attachment to customer. I achieved this by using host program and connecting to db server by using ftp. I am placing my output file in db server. From there onwards by using pl/sql scripts I am sending output file as attachment. The program is working fine for me no issues.
Now in this program i am hardcoding ip number, user name of Ip and pwd of ip. Our client don't want all those info needs to be displayed in the host(.prog) FILE.
For this i've written all variables in the .env file. But the .prog file triggers from application server. And I've written my variables in .env file which is in db server(different ip). When I am reading these values in the .prog it is throwing error saying the .env does not exists in the application server. Which is true since this is residing at db server.
Please help me how can i pass global variables to this .prog file. Remeber that I am able to send output file by hardcoding user name and password.

My requirment is not related to the apps password. I know the four parameters which we can default, my requirement is further ahead.
In my host program I am connecting to db server. As it is evident .prog file runs from appl server. I need to transfer file from appl server to db server. For that I want to use global variables kind. Like if I write in .env file then I can use that parameters in across all the programs. But what I've seen from instance is that my .env file resides in db server means if i want to initialize those global variables i need to connect db server then only I can connect.
Now I need to use global variables in appl server where I don't have any .env file at this level. If say parameters through program we can pass but it is password of db server which I need to secure from users and rest others for that I need to declare global variables at appl server level. How is that possible.
The threads I've checked them already those are related to passing parameters which is possible but my requirement is to pass parameter which is hidden and through programatically it has to trigger in to the program. If my program is pure shell file and resides and db server then no issues. Here the complexity is that .prog file resides in appl server and I want to do transfer from appl server to db server.

Create a function group.
Define global data (there is a similiar menu point to jump to the top include).
Create one or two function modules, with which you can read and write the global data.
In your BADI methods you can access the global data with help of your function modules. It will stay in memory through the whole transaction.

You can't.
During 1 session, 1 ODI variable can have only 1 value at a time.
If you need more than 1 value, you will have to do somethink like a loop inside your package, and refresh the variable value each time.

I tried the code in the http package in the Appendix A section of your book. Each time i try a POST I get a HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request error from the server. I can successfully do a GET from URLs. I have pretty much copied your code verbatim. Any ideas?

Yeah, I remember someone posted that solution a long time
ago. It seems if you load a file with the same name the cache
