How to pass Null in adapter return variable?

Hi,
I have AD as Resource. I need to implement that if some field suppose : UserName length is greater than 5 NULL should be passed as value for the field UserName on AD Resource Form else the user name present.I have made a prepop adapter for it .In which firstly using utility task i calulated length of UserNAme variable(resolve at runtime).THen put a simple if condition that if length calculated is less than 5 return userNAme .
If userNAme is less than 5 AD is successfully provisioned to user but if userName length is more than 5 AD Resource was not provisioned to user successfully .System Validation Task failed and there were no details in Response description of this task ....
Tried three ways for else :
1.In else condition i took a Literal->Text literal-> value left blank
2.In else condition i took a Literal->Text literal-> NULL (written null in value field)
3.Did'nt take else condition
Please help how can i implement it ...

System Validation is the task that saves the form. It will "fail" for 2 reason.
1. Auto Save is not selected on your Provisioning Process Definition. This means you must manually open the form and click save.
2. You have not provided value to the required fields. This will result if you do not provide a default value, or a pre-populate adapter to the field. I assume this is your issue that your adapter is not filling in the field. If you want to make a field not required, you will need to create a new version of the form in the design console, remove the property of required from the field, and make the form active. This will most likely break the system though because those fields are required for a reason.

How you start application? I think you send message to webservice(BPEL process is webservice too). So construct message with variable and value.
But I created only processes where input value doesn't matter. I haven't use mapper yet too.

How to pass a list as bind variable?

How can I pass a list as bind variable in Oracle?
The following query work well in SQL Developer if I set ":prmRegionID=2".
SELECT COUNTRY_ID,
COUNTRY_NAME
FROM HR.COUNTRIES
WHERE REGION_ID IN (:prmRegionID);
The problem is that I can't find how to set ":prmRegionID=2,3".
I know that I can replace ":prmRegionID" by a substitution variable "&prmRegionID". The above query work well with"&prmRegionID=2" and with "&prmRegionID=2,3".
But with this solution, I lost all advantage of using binds variables (hard parse vs soft parse, SQL injection possibility, etc.).
Can some one tell me what is the approach suggest by Oracle on that subject? My developer have work a long time too find how but didn't found any answer yet.

I have to move data from flat file to Target DB.
flat file name is not consistent, we have to pass file name at the time of scenario excution.
Could any of help me how to build this ODI scenario.

In the datastore where you have filename in the "Resource Name", enter a variable #myVar
You need to recompile your scenario after this change has been done.
And when you execute the scenario, pass along the parameters "-Project.myVar=c:\filename.txt"

How to pass NULL value in SSRS

Hi All,
I have a parameter called Division,Region and State.While loading these parameter I am replacing NULL value as "NO Division","NO Region" and "NO State".Note all parameters are multi valued.
Now In my dataset query If I put the condition like (division=@Division or Division is null) and (region=@region or Region is null) and (state=@State
or State is null).
In this scenario if I want to exclude null values need only specific Division which is not allowing me to do that with above condition.If I need all it works fine but not with specifice division,region and sate.
Any thought on this.

Thats because of or conditions
As per your explanation since you replace NULL value as No division etc what you need to do is just this
(division=@Division or @Division = 'All') and (region=@region or @Region = 'All') and (state=@State or @State = 'All').
this will make sure it will bring all values including NULLs when you pass All and will only give you specific division/region etc records when you pass a specific value.
To get NULL valued records alone you need to pass value as No Division,No region etc
Also you should change dataset query for parameter combo to make prompt as No Division etc for NULL values so that it can be selected as an option inside multi valued combo box to see NULL valued records

little late to the party on this one but I had a similar issue today and found the answer.
Use a "/" (forward-slash) in your DTW file and it will set the field to NULL for you.
I don't know if this works for numeric fields (probably not) but it worked for me on several string fields I needed to clear in various Master Data objects.

1. you should have two views and a Node in the Component controller
2. In the first view you should bind the Component controller node attribute Employee ID.
3. In the second view also u should bind the Employee id attribute and get the value from that and process the employee id.
4. Display the employee Details in the Second view.
all the business Logic please write in the component conntroller.
the Data will pass like this
FirstView Context --> Component controller Context --> Second view Context.
here Component controller context is Global and can be visible to both the views.

[RESOLVED] How I pass in my command-line variables disgusts me

What I'm trying to do is to make an easily configurable script that the user can run with just a few basic command line variables (some of our users are not programmers.) Now, here's my problem, when it comes to extracting the variables from the command line, it's kind of messy. Lets say I have the following command:
$ ./hl_script.sh --config-file=config_abc.txt --rate=5000 --data-dump=/opt/dump_area -v
"-v" means verbose
Now, given the weird arrangement of the different types of command line arguments, I'd like to extract the salient parts of the information that I care about. However, at this moment, all I have is the "cut" command which can easily get into undefined behavior territory should the user misstype an input. I would love to know how you have done this and what your approach to this problem is.
This is the code that I have so far:

How to pass a value to a bind variable in a query report in oracle apex

Hi Guys,
I have requirement to send weekly reports via email to some users. The users should receive their own records in the report. The user details is stored in a table. What I am planning to do is to create a report query in oracle apex to generate the report and then run a function/procedure via a scheduler to email the report to respective users. Now my query is ............. is it possible to pass a value (user name) to the report query to pull records of only that user? I know we can have bind variables in the report query but I have no idea how to pass a value for bind variables from a function/procedure.
Can anyone help me on this issue or suggest a better approach?

It sounds like you need to set the <rtexprvalue> tag to true in the TLD for your tag. If you do this the tag will read in the value you are trying to pass to it.

Declare the two variables of type if_wd_contex_node for e.g. lv_node and if_wd_context_element for e.g. lv_element. Now in the first one lets say lv_node get the refrence of dynamically created node like:
lv_node = wd_context->get_child_node('<node name>').
Then get the refrence of element like:
lv_element = lv_node->get_element( ). (You can also pass index as parameter check the method API)
then just set the value of attribute you want like:
lv_element->set_attribute( exporting name = '<attribute name>' value = '<your value>').

How to pass a report value to an external website URL??

Hello,
Clicking on one of the fields in a report needs to take me to an external website and should pass the value of the field to the URL
Example:
1. Let's assume external site is http://www.abc.com
2. The values in a column in my report range from 1 to 1000.
3. When I click on say value 21 in my report, the URL formed should be http://www.abc.com/21 and should open in a new browser. Similary, when I click on value 994 in my report, the URL should be http://www.abc.com/994
Note: I have created reports before and linked them(passed parameters) sucessfully to other objects(forms,reports) etc.. But, haven't passed parameters to external websites before!
Would really appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction.
