How to place a border on images?

My images' source are from bitmaps rather than file location. It is programmatically created and assign. Is there a way to add borders to this, probably something like:
image.borderWidth = 3;
I've tried using CSS skinning but have no succes to do so. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think the best way to do that is to extend the Image component and give it some "borders" support.

    Here's a little video from Adobe TV that shows you how to create borders in Photoshop Elements. If you don't have Photoshop Elements, skip the first 1:25 of the video, the rest of the steps apply to Photoshop as well:

  • How do I remove border surrounding image?

    I am old as dirt and very new to Photoshop CS3. Don't ask me why (I just like to learn), I want to try making animations. I have found several online tutorials and just completed my first animation (a rocket being launched). I am working on another one, but couldn't find the  walkman gif used in the tutorial. I Googled and found this image, but don't know how to remove the border surrounding him?  Lucie

    Click on the animated frames panel to make it active. This is going to be needed.
    For frame animation the easiest way is to create a new layer for each frame. So you can copy/paste to the next frame for any repetitive pixels needed.
    When you are finished with all of your layers in the animations panel is a small icon in the upper right hand corner.
    Click that icon to bring up the menu
    Clear all frames
    convert layers to frames
    Once you see each layer in their perspective frame, you are ready to generate an animated gif.
    Before you do make sure repeat frame is not enabled as it will create a funky animation.
    To create an animate gif use File>Save For Web
    Preview the gif in a browser to verify it is animating correctly.
    Once of things that can be repeated on each layer is the color of your background\
    To copy a layer to a new layer use ctrl-j on windows or cmd-j on mac.
    At any time you can clear the frames do your work on the layer then convert the layers to frames and repeat this process as many times as needed.
    If your canvas is not large enough , expand it - Image>Canvas Size

  • How to add a border around images posted to Facebook?

    I am using LR 4.1, also usis PS CS5.
    Anyone who uses Facebook to showcase image galleries knows that Facebook changes how images are displayed from time to time.  One month it will be on a black background and the next on a white background.  And then they put overlay's on top of your images and they change things around whenever they wish.  There is not rock solid consistency from Facebook on how they display your images across devices or over time.
    What I am trying to do is to add some consistency to how my images are displayed by adding my own border to my images.  I need some ideas on how to best do this.  The way that I have been doing it does not appear to be ideal and I think someone must have a better way.
    Ideally, I would want Lightroom to add a border for me based on some setting under the export manager.  But as far I know there is no setting to do this?  (Why doesn't lightroom have any border options anywhere yet for anything it exports?  This would be relatively simple I think.)
    Here is the only way I know how to solve my issue.
    First, my other considerations:
    I want to keep my original images in my catalog in tact and as is w/o a border and with layers if it is a .psd file.  I do NOT want to destructively add a border to the catalog images, only the images that end up on Facebook.  I also want to add my watermark image to the final image so that it is done as the last step so that the bottom part of my watermark shows my web site address over the white border on the bottom of the image.  Using a droplet and the watermark in the same step does not work properly because it applies the watermark before it runs the action, not after.
    I have created an action to add a x pixel white border by:
    Merging (flatten) all layers
    Creating a new unlocked background "image" layer
    Expanding the canvas by x pixels.
    Creating a new white filled layer and moving it to the bottom of the layer's pallet.
    Adding a 2 pixel black inside stroke to my image layer and adding a drop shadow.
    I created a droplet from this action and put it in the droplet folder for LR.
    Now for the repeated steps that I am going through...
    Select the images that I want to write to Facebook.
    Export these images to a new folder using the droplet.
    Import the folder of all of these images back into Lightroom.
    Move the new images with borders on them into the correct LR FB publish service.
    Publish the photos using the sharpening and watermark settings.
    Delete the .psd files created in Step #2
    The steps that I would like to avoid are #2, #3, #6
    Or maybe I am going about this all wrong?  Anybody have any better ideas?

    You may find it much easier to use the Migrify plug-in from Tim Armes/Photographers Toolbox which does what you want from within Lr.

  • How to remove black border around image files?

    I'm something of a beginner with Photoshop, so forgive me if I've missed something entirely obvious: for some strange reason I'm now getting a black border around all image files that I save through the "Save for Web & Devices" panel. Does anyone know how I can save without creating this border? It looks rather unsightly when I load it into a client site. The file in question is a .png, but I seem to be getting the same effect with all other image files as well.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shane

    One cause could be having the matte color set to something other than none.
    Is that a png-8?

  • How to place text beside an image

    I know there must be a simple answer to this, but I've looked high and low and can't find it!  All I want to do is place a block of text beside an image.
    I have created a div tag, inserted the image, then typed in the text  - which positions itself below the image and seems to be locked there. Can anyone help? I've been at it all day....

    Float the image left or right by using css:
    img (
    float: left;
    The image would normally be in a container of some description, a <div> or table cell <td> so if its only a specific image or images then target only those images within a specific container using css.
    So for instance if your image/s are in a container which has an id of 'myContainerName' then you would use:
    #myContainerName img {
    float: left;
    You could also just add some inline css to the specific img tag, style="float: left;" (as below)
    <img src="images/myImage.jpg" style="float: left;" alt=" " width="200" height="200" />

  • How to make a border

    Hello,
    I'm new to Mac & iWeb, I've d/l'd the iWebFAQ although it doesn't state anything on how to place a border around my content on my website. Nor can I find how to make a background under my website.
    Any assistance will be appreciated.
    ...Zorba118

    Click on whatever you want a border around and open the Inspector in iWeb and then click on the 5th along and then you have the option of using a Line or Picture Frame - whatever you want. If you want a border, then use the line option and you can change the colour and thickness of it around what you want.
    For background colours, open the Inspector and go to Page and Layout and then you can change the background page colour and the browser colour.

  • How do I place a border around a imported image

    simple question how do I place a border around a imported image.

    An alternate 'hack' using EA UI, aside from Maries sound css routine.
    Select the image element and explore/experiment with the Box Shadow properties.
    Example below - both Drop and Inset 'faux' border.
    - set x, y and Blur to 0 and toy with the Spread integer using a positive value.
    - alter color property to your liking. I used black at 100% Alpha.

  • How to place the images in Indesign xml file by Javascript?

    How to place the images in Indesign xml file by Javascript?
    We got the Indesign xml file, how to give the image placement link by Indesign javascript? Please help me its urgent.

    Hi,
    You can pass the image url as a href attribute=> file:///Users/me/Documents/my_pic.jpg directly within your xml. It just needs that you pass a local, static and valid url.
    If you want to add image later once the xml is flowed and so target specific nodes and inject images, it's a bit more complex. If the node is not part of the layout, you may try to reach the XMLElement objet and such an attribute, then layout the element.
    var x = some XMLElement
    x.xmlAttributes.add("href","file:///Users/m/Documents/my_pic.jpg" );
    If already placed, then you have to get the associated pageItem, then place your file into it.
    pagItm.place ( File ( "/Users/m/Documents/my_pic.jpg" ) );
    Hope that helps,

  • When i Place a PSD in Indesign it comes in at 200+% while the image frame is considerably smaller. How do i place so that the image and image frame match?

    When i Place a PSD in Indesign it comes in at 200+% while the image frame is considerably smaller. How do i place so that the image and image frame match?

    Peter,
    The screenshots tell you everything.
    The second one tells you how the image frame is automatically set up after a one-click place. It's the blue stroked rectangle with the eight control points at each corner and mid-way along the line. This image frame is generated at a proportionally correct height and width for the image it contains.
    Now, if you look at the third screenshot (click on it to see it at a larger size), you will see I've used the direct selection tool (white arrow) to click on the image within the image frame. This CLEARLY shows the image (within the image frame) is substantially larger than the frame generated to contain it. This is indicated by the yellow stroked rectangle with the eight control points at each corner and mid-way along the line.
    Notice that the blue and yellow rectangles are vastly different sizes.
    In InDesign CS5.5, when i clicked to place the image, the image would fit perfectly within its image frame. the blue and yellow rectangles would match.
    I had no need to go click on the proportional fill and centre buttons like i need to do now in CC.
    I have a keyboard shortcut to place. I can't do File > Place for the amount of images i need to place.
    So to reiterate: How do i place an image so that the image and image frame match?

  • How to place multiple images?

    Hi,
    How to place multiple images?
    Regards,
    Learner

    Is the script creating the frames? If so, just assign each frame a
    variable, or make them all into an array. Then use something like:
    myFrame.place("aFile");
    If the script is not creating the frame, then are they live frames on
    the page, or are they actually on a master page?
    If they're on master spreads, you'll have to release them to the page
    you want. (I think it's myMasterFrame.override(myPage) where myPage is
    the live page you want to detach them on, but you'll have to double
    check that.)
    But presuming they're regular detached frames on a page, if you want
    your script to figure out which is the first and which is the second you
    can either use script labels in the UI and then search for the script
    label, or else you'll have to write a function that will get all
    rectangles on the page (myPage.rectangles.everyItem().getElements() and
    either do a clever javascript sort, or write a straightforward function
    to sort them by height and x-pos.
    Hope that sheds some light on the task ahead!

  • How to place a background image, so that the text layer, without having to use a text box

    Hello,
    I have a problem with the placement of the background image. When I normally formatted text on a page and add the image you want on the background of the text and the handle on the back is still image over text, just no longer responds to wrap text.
    The second problem is adding a new page to the document. I have unfinished document and I need to add a page before the current ... how?
    This is a new Pages.
    Thanks for the advice

    Helps to know exactly what version of Pages you are using.
    I assume Pages 5.1. But the last post makes me wonder.
    Text Wrap only works on text under an object. Either it is in front causing text wrap or it is in the background with none. It is unclear what you are trying to achieve.
    Click at the very beginning of your text:
    Insert > Section Break/Page Break

  • Need to know how to place a tiling image in the div tags

    Let me see if I can explain what I want to do in a way that makes sense.
    I have created a box using the <div> I want a background image I made in photoshop that has rounded corners. I need this image to stretch or tile the length and width of the box without duplicating the image in the tile. I don't want multiple rounded corner corner boxes appearing. Just the one stretched.
    I am guessing I need to crop the rounded corner top, bottom and take a 1 px tall crop from from the center of the image for tiling and the top and bottom remain fixed in their position.
    I don't know how to place these in the box if my assumptions about cropping are right.
    I don't know how to stretch the width of the image to fit the width of the box either. Do I need to create a fixed width image the width of the box or can it stretch to fill the width?
    Using DW CS6
    Thanks

    Tiling would mean duplicating itself horizontally and vertically to appear as though it were tiled (envision a shower wall).
    You do not want it to tile it sounds like, but you want the background image to cover the entire background by resizing to whatever size the containing <div> is.
    That can be done relatively easily with the css3 background-size property.
    The css would look like this...
    #container_id {
         background-image:url(your_image.jpg);
         background-size:100% 100%;
         background-repeat:no-repeat;
    Then the html would look like this...
    <div id="container_id>
         your content
    </div>
