How to populate multiple dependent dropdown in jsp
Does anyone know how to use a database to dynamically populate a series of
menus in a form that resides in a single JSP (no frames please)?
For example, I have 3 drop-down menus in the same form named A, B and C.
Based on what the user selects in menu A, I want to query the database and
present a set of options related to A in menu B. Based on what the user
selects in menu B, I want to query the database and present a set of options
related to B in menu C. Finally, when A, B and C are all selected, the user
would submit the form for processing. How can this be achieved without subjecting
the server/network to excessive overhead?

This question is asked tons of times. There is code available on this site and on google.
Here are a couple of suggestions:
There are two ways to do this
1) All javascript: When the page is first made, you retrieve all possible values for the second select and store them in a javascript array of arrays. Then, on change event of first select, choose which options to put in the second option. This is most usefull when the total number of values is small.
2) Server round trip: Use the onChange event from the first select to call a js function that submits the form to someplace that determines which values to add to the second select, then re-display the jsp with the new values...
3) Shorter Server round trip: Like 2) but instead of submitting the form, use the XMLHttpRequest object in JavaScript to communicate the selected option to the server and get a response with what to fill in the next select box with.

Steps to insert multiple entries to BAPI table.
1.Create an instance for BAPI input
2.Bind the instance to the Node of the BAPI input
3.Create instance of the Structure(BAPI table) to which input has to be added.
4.Set the input values to the Structure instance.
5.Add the instance to the BAPI input.
6.Execute
From the given example,I assume Z_Recr_Apply_Point_Input is the BAPI Input and com.epiuse.us.recruitment.models.veteranpoint.Zrecr_Aplno as Structure

(All-smalls is only slightly less annoying, as it's difficult to read. Alan Cox can get away with it, but you can't.)
More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes. -

I am new in Jdev 11g. I try to develop an input table with two dependent dropdown list. I can create independent dropdown list in such table. When I try to implement dependent one following some examples do it in a form using bind variable in the view object I get an empty listbox. How can I do this? Is it possible. I cannot find any documents about this.

it hasn't changed between 10.1.3 and 11. The basic outline of how you do it is
- use a managed bean to query the data
- populate the list with f:selectItems that point to the managed bean ArrayList<SelectItem> for the master and the detail
- obtain the master ID in the managed bean by parsing the #{row} variable when the table renders
- then bulild the detail list
- have the detail list referencing the ArrayList<SelectItem> you expose for the details
Note that without proper caching, the action is quite expensive

How to handle multiple option selected in JSP?
Hi ,
Imagine in a jsp page we have 7 check boxes with 7 different option.
When user selects each chk box data should be fetched from respective table.
Scenario:
User can select 1 or more option in jsp page,in osb how to query multiple tables dynamically for the user selected options without using if else in message flow/switch in XQuery as no of combinations will be more .
Can any of you guide us on this?

I understand your point,but thing is-
For 7 options if we create 7 BS and for single selection based on the option selected we can invoke the respective BS.
But if user selects more than 1 option ,i need union response of 2 respective business service .How can we achieve this , Do we have option to combine result from 2 DB adapter/2 BS to single result in OSB?
Current method i try to follow,we have a single db adapter configured to get union response for all 7 options from DB.based on the user option i need to filter data for each eg - meterid i have in my master collection..planned to write query transformation of response data as needed for option user selects.Is this a better approach?Will this cause any performance issue?Because in my XQuery for each master data i'll fetch other details from DB using fn:bea execute sql..

How to create a dependant dropdown list in JHeadStart
I have created a JDeveloper application using JHeadStart. I have created a dropdown list that should be dependant on another value in the table.
So far I have done the following:
1. Created a new view object in the data model.
2. Created a bind variable to supply the value to the where clause for the view.
3. Altered the where clause in the view to use the bind variable.
4. Created a new domain in JHeadStart using this new view.
Where I am having problems is how to assign the bind variable the value of another field in the currently displayed form. The current form is in form layout mode.
I have done this when using table layout mode by doing the following: bindvariable=#{row.field} which works great. The problem is how do I do this in form layout?Please ask this in the JHeadstart forum

Now, to catch these events you have to write ABAP Code in the method SCENARIO_PROCESS_USER_COMMAND.
The USER_COMMAND field contains the event name. Use Switch Case for performing desired operations on different events.

i need to populate these 3 records as one into the infoobject based on dateid.
(dateid =1 then kf1=d1,kf2=d2;dateid =2 kf3=d3,kf3=d4 dateid = 3 kf1=d5,kf2=d6)
i added 6 key figures ( kf1 kf2 kf3 kf4 kf5 kf6) as attributes to infoobject.The final
record should look like the below one.

Could you pls give me some thoughts on how to do this in a better way.
Do i need to write update routine or just the formula in update rule is enough ??

The scenario you have mentioned looks really complicated reason being, maintainance.
Combining 3 records to one is possible in Start Routine. But it will be an expensive one.(I mean loopin)
Pseudo code:
LOOP AT DATA_PACKAGE.
Check which records satisfy your criteria and fill a Temporary table. The fields will be your entire record to be appended to the fact table.
Endloop.
Delete your Data Package.
populate the Temporary Internal Table onto the Data Package.

Im using a jsp page which have got some 'n' no submit buttons according to the Iterator ..each iterator display a row contains few fields plus submit button ..ex., If ' n' rows means 'n' respective submit buttons..the problem here is when i click any of the submit button only the value of the first row goes
to the other jsp page..no matter wat ever button I click only first row goes..
remember the page displays all the rows correctly and though the values of submit button are also different it gives the same result...

I apologize in advance if this is redundant, but I have searched this forum relentlessly to no avail. I have a form connected to an MS Access database. The database is linked to another datadase on an Advantage server. This is dynamic data that has an ODBC driver allowing to link access tables to the Advantage data. Macros on access updates the table being used on this form. The livecycle form connects to the access data via a DSN on a machine that uses acrobat (not reader). This is a physician office, this form should expedite ordering radiology tests on patients. The plan is to use a drop down to select a chart number that will trigger several text boxes to populate dynamically with the corresponding demographic values like name, age, insurance etc.
Using a data drop down I am able to select the chart number. When I used the example from the office supplies database, so that a button will trigger the event with the following code:

I would be happy with a link that solves this problem if someone can provide. I am somewhat familiar with js but open to any suggesstion.

PS this form could also be linked to a Sequel database if that offers an advantage.The View object API has a setQurery() method that you can use to set the query as needed before executing it via executeQuery(). You can do this in a custom Application Module method exposed to its client interface and bound to the binding layer. You can call this method from your backing bean on a value change listener.

I am using the ReferenceData file, which consists of the Dropdown list values in the form of Key,Value pair. I can able to populate one drop down,but I don't know how to populate the second dropdown dynamically.

Now I looking for to retrieve this footer section data available in multiple rows from footer table and present it in jsp page .
I am finding difficulties in how to show this multiple row data for dynamic no of rows .i.e. variable no. of rows.
