How to position label above form element?

Hi,
I have a simple search form and a report displaying the search result.
I don´t like the way the labels are positioned in the search form. I want the labels to be positioned above the the form elements, e.g. a listbox. I can´t find any setting that makes this happens. Anyone?

That sounds odd, you can position a label wherever you want by setting the relevant "Horizontal / Vertical Alignment" property. And in case you don't get exactly what you want you can always change the label template to suit your needs.

How to do the same form element alignments on two different regions

Hi,
I have two different regions on the same page as the second one is underneath of the first one. Both the regions have some form elements like text field, select list etc. However the alignment of the elements on these two regions are not the same. In the individual regions, it just aligns the input fields based on the maximum length of the label within the region only, so it creates two different vertical alignments per region. How to have the same alignment for the input elements across the regions?
(I wish to upload the screenshot of the page but there is no provision in this forum to do so).

The basic approach is to set the width of the item labels using a CSS embedded style sheet in the page HTML Header:

How can form elements be created iteratively in JSF/JSC

Hi,
I'm trying to create a page that displays a number of text input boxes based on a user-selected number from the previous page...
How can I wrap the form element in a loop ...?
(and also dynamically assign the elements attributes like id1, id2, id3 ...etc)

Accessing form elements within a Spry region.

Since nested Spry regions isn't yet support, can someone tell
me how to access and modify form elements within a existing region?
For example, I have a region that displays a form based on
data I defined in a javascript array. On of the form elements is a
select with some options. I want to added and remove options to
this select depending on the number of objects in the data array.
The select is not defined when I try to access it after spry
has finished rendering the form, eg

How are Spry regions attached to the browser's DOM? Does Spry
create it's own DOM subordinate to the main DOM?
Is it possible to make changes to a Spry region without using
Spry?

Actually, there are a couple of ways to get access to the DOM
underneath a region container. If you have a region, you can put an
ID attribute on the region container node, or if you are using a
region observer, the data passed into the observer has a regionNode
property. So if you want access to the region DOM anytime the
region is re-generated, do something like this:

How do you change a "row Label" in form central into an interactive text box? I need to leave some of the row labels plank so that people using the form can add some of their on labels. Can this be done and if so how?

I'm not quite sure I understand your question. Respondents (fillers of the form) cannot edit the label of a field.

I'm not sure of how to do this. Which includes I need to modify. And where exactly I have to write this Onclick event. And where exactly I have to pass this hidden parameters...I knew that we do have to add in Searchform form. However do we need to add the hidden parameters to the standard resource include.
As far as I knew, submitfrm() is the function which holds of Searchform values and also query_form_init script.
Could you please guide me through the steps. Which resource incliudes I have to modify/override..

This is not the best way to write JavaScript in Portal environment!
You can't be sure that a form is the first in the html source!
In Portal you change the order of your portlets, and also you can have several instances of the same portlet on the same page!!!
You should use qualified form and field names!

Labels on Forms are not maintaining positions when viewed on a different computer

I have a project with 14 forms. The labels for the text boxes are perfectly aligned on one machine, yet when I run the project on a different machine (same screen resolution and all fonts available) many of the labels are no longer left- or right-aligned
as designed. I have experimented with changing the Autoresize settings (using Font, DPI, etc.) for the forms as well as the text alignment settings for the labels themselves, but they don't fix the problem. I am using Visual Basic (Net 4.5) in
Visual Studio 2013. Any ideas??

Hi DrDon81,
According to your description, the labels on forms are not maintaining positions in different machines.
I suggest you disable the AutoSize(set to false).
Or you could put the label in a panel or similar, then use Dock instead of just Anchor property.
If it still not working, you could share a little sample which can reproduce the issue. we could help you better.

I guess I'm still not fully understanding your problem. You mention that they aren't being cleared from the JVM? On the server or client side? How exactly are you seeing that they aren't being released? I'm assuming you mean server side because you mention JVM. The JVM isn't used on the client side to display the UI element. There is no JVM used in Web Dynpro ABAP for the server side processing. The only place the JVM is used is in the Adobe Document Services itself for the rendering of the PDF. Is that where you are seeing instances not being cleared? I'm not exactly sure how that would be manifesting itself. Could you please provide some more detail.

You can create the design for a DVD label in Create>More Options. Once you have the label set up, you would copy it to a template for the labels you plan to use. (The PSE template makes one label, while most printed labels are two-up.)

Here are the things I've done to troubleshoot:
If I put the div element as an absolute container, the left button disapears.
I get the same effect when I change the position to relative.
I tried changing the position to relative for both buttons.
I also tried to position the buttons outside the Main Div container and no go.
How can I position the relative div element under these controller button?
Any help would be muchly appreciated.

'Replace pages' not modifying form element positions - is there another way?

PDF form design in InDesign, bring pdf into Acrobat to add field validation JS. All good.
Modify form in InDesign, 'Replace pages' in Acrobat to get new design changes in without losing JS.
Good, except Acrobat won't bring across any altered positions of form elements, only non-form elements like text and images.
Adding the JS to the PDF created by InDesign each time the form changes is time consuming. Tried adding the JS in one go via "Edit All JavaScripts" but Acrobat won't retain. It seems to want each form field's JS added to it individually.
Is there another way? Thanks.

Dynamically changing the labels on the elements of a cluster doesn't seem to be easily possible. Perhaps this is due to the need for name matching in the Unbundle by Name function.
It is possible, however, to change the caption dynamically. Same method as given above, but write to the caption.text property. An example is attached if you're reading this through the NI web site.

How to track changes made in a jsf form element.

I am in a page and editing some form elements. I click on some other link which will take me to another page. Before moving to another page I want to check if there are some unsaved data in the page. If some form elements are edited, I want to throw a confirmation alert, if the user wants to move to the other page without saving the edited data.
This can be accomplished by having a hidden flag which will keep a track. On change of any element, a javascript function will be called to set the hidden flag. So before going to any page we can check the flag and throw an alert.
But this process will be needing much coding effort. Is there a way in JSF to track the change in a form by backing bean or some other process?

JSF offers a serverside ValueChangeEvent for that. Every UIInput component supports a 'valueChangeListener' attribute (and a f:valueChangeListener facet) which can point to a method in the backing bean which takes a ValueChangeEvent parameter. This will only be invoked if the new value differs from the old value. This costs one trip to the server though.
E.g.<h:inputText value="#{myBean.value}" valueChangeEvent="#{myBean.valueChanged}" />MyBeanpublic void valueChanged(ValueChangeEvent event) {

Interactive Form Element 7.1: How can I set the default file name?

I am using Interactive Form Element with 7.1 to display a pdf. When one clicks the save button in Adobe's toolbar, the dialog defaults the file name to "F.pdf". Is there a way to default this to a different value?
