currently i am having a zip/rar file which has a text file of my daily export log(exp). i wants to open that zip/rar file and then read last line of the text file, finally i wants to send this last line of the text file through email.
is there any way to achive this?
Please Advice.

ShanI don't believe using Oracle, you can read zip/tar file contents. You should decompress your files, use for example, external tables to read the contents, insert into an Oracle table and then use UTL_SMTP to send emails using PL/SQL.

How to automatically generate a build file of the application from command-line
Hi All
How can we automatically generate a build file of the application from command-line (as opposed to using Jdev IDE to click to generate a build.xml) ?
ThanksUser, which jdev version do you use?
I don't think you can do this. You can only create an ant build.xml from the project inside jdev.
You can use ojdeploy to build the project. This is the only method which will also make the necessary changes to the descriptors.

How to open dropbox zip.cpgz files..
Can anyone explain how to open dropbox .zip or zip.cpgz files??
Open MAC OS X terminal, go to the directory where the file is located using the cd command, for example
cd ~/Downloads/
file <YourFileNameHere>
There are command line utilities that work. If the file was downloaded via Safari, verify the file integrity with the source using something like md5 hash.
You can use openssl md5 <YourFileNameHere> command. The dropbox file would need to be verified by the originator with an originating md5 hash posted for you to correctly verify the integrity of the file. -

well. Like what paulcw mentioned, not to put

those codes in the file. Could anyone explain little
bit more on it? Thank you.Create a password file that is accessed by your program. It keeps the passwords out of the developers' hands. (Mandatory practice implemented by our DBAs). -
When I attempt to download a zipped CSV file in Firefox, the usual pop-up window appears asking what Firefox should do with this file... even after I select "Open with" and choose my Zip File Manager and tick the box that says "Do this automatically for files like this from now on", this pop-up continues to appear every time I come to download files
@Corel
Thanks, I had forgotten all about potential server side problems.
@Conners81 <br/>
If sample problem files and links are publicly available maybe you could include an example of the link being used, preferably to one of the smaller simpler files.
*What is the website you are using?
For comparison an example you may like to try
* site providing .csv data [http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/cmr-10/WAL-3.4.html]
** a small few lines csv download file [http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/cmr-10/csv/WAL-3.4.csv]
** similar info as a pdf chart [http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/cmr-10/pdfs/WAL-3.4.pdf]
Of course you have the added complication of the zipped file. -

Steps to prepare and upload excel files data to r/3?
Hi abap experts,
We have brand new installed ECC system somehow configured but with no master or transaction data loaded .It is new empty system....We also have some legacy data in excel files...We want to start loading some data into the SAP sandbox step by step and to see how they work...test some transactions see if the loaded data are good etc initial tests.
Few questions here are raised:
-Can someone tell me what is the process of loading this data into SAP system?
-Should this excel file must me reworked prepared somehow(fields, columns etc) in order to be ready for upload to SAP??
-Users asked me how to prepared their legacy excel files so they can be ready in SAP format for upload.?Is this an abaper job or it is a functional guy job?
-Or should the excel files be converted to .txt files and then imported to SAP?Does it really make some difference if files are in excel or .txt format?
-Should the Abaper determine the structure of those excel file(to be ready for upload ) and if yes, what are the technical rules here ?
-What tools should be used for this initial data loads? CATT , Lsmw , batch input or something else?
-At which point we should test the data?I guess after the initial load?
-What tools are used in all steps before...
-If someone can provide me with step by step scenario or guide of loading some kind of initial master data - from .xls file alignment to the real upload - this will be great..
You can email me some upload guide or some excel/txt file examples and screenshots documents to excersize....Email: [email protected]
Your help is appreciated it.!
JonDepends on data we upload the data from file to R/3 .
If it is regular updation then we used to get the data from application server files to R/3 since local file updation we can not set up background processing..
If it is master data upload and that to one time upload then we use presenation server files to SAP R/3..
See the simple example to upload the data to on master custom table from XLS File

How do you use zip files?
Hello all,
I have always stayed away from ZIP files (as in doing it myself, to my own files), since my days in Windows, after all the countless corrupt ZIP files I received from others, that simply would not UNzip...
But recently I've come across references to them again, and I realised I might be missing a trick or two....
Any comments on the following would be appreciated:
1.) What can I use them for?
As in - could I ZIP my entire folder of holiday pictures - all 13GB's of them?
Or is there some sort of size limit, where anything over, and things become problematic?
Are some file types Zipped better than others?
2.) How does it actually work?
As in - what happens to my original files?
Assume the holiday pics are Zipped - do the orginals get compressed, or can I select it so that copies are Zipped, as a kind of backup?
3.) How safe is it?
As in - assuming my hardware and software are all OK, nothing buggy etc. - if I create the ZIP file, pop it somewhere on a USB/External/the same laptop, and then Unzip it later, when I need them again - am I correct in assuming that the chances of the file being corrupted, are relatively slim?
And coming back to those holiday pics - could the compression process result in a loss in picture quality/resolution, were I to then unzip the file? Or - assuming everything works as planned - will the quality of the pictures/file emerge exactly the same as they were prior to being compressed?
I realise all of the above are ridiculously simple questions - but googling this doesn't really help, as most sites simply explain the how to, not the WHY...
The WHY articles were probably all written 15 years ago already... I'm just very, very far behind....
Thanks in advance!
[Mid-2012 MBP 8GB Ram; OSX ML]Zipping an image file should have no effect on image quality, as the image data is not actually changed.
Note that there's very little point in zipping a folder full of images, unless the images are not a compressed file type. You can't compress data that is already compressed - in fact, trying to do so often increases the file size - and JPEG images, for example, are already compressed.
For the most part, you don't need to use zip at all. I absolutely DO NOT recommend storing your files and/or folders on the hard drive in compressed form as a space-saving measure. It doesn't save enough space to be worth the time needed to compress files large enough to warrant it on a modern drive. Accessing zipped files is a pain, too, since you basically have to decompress the whole thing in order to access a file inside a zip file.
Zip becomes useful if you need to attach a large number of files to an e-mail message (zip the files, then attach the single zip file) or want to create an archive of multiple files to download from a web site through a single link. In other words, in situations where you need to transmit many files over the internet, especially where Windows users may be involved, zipping files can be either important or a convenience. -
How to insert a ZIP file in the message body and display it as icons
how to attach an ZIP file as an inline attachment. whether its possible in java mail.
Stop asking the same thing over and over.
Keep the discussion in your original thread. -

How to Zip server files(in a directory) and throwing back to client
Can someone tell me how to zip all the files in a particular directory of my web application and throwing back to client to give option for save that zipped file.
i have used the below used function to zip in servlet. But I cann't zip a particular directory of my application in server.
Please help
private void zipDir(String dir2zip, ZipOutputStream zos)

//create a new File object based on the directory we
// have to zip File
File fileDir2Zip = new File(dir2zip);
System.out.println("is directory ..."+fileDir2Zip.isDirectory());
//get a listing of the directory content
String[] dirList = fileDir2Zip.list();
for(int i = 0 ; i < dirList.length ; i++)
System.out.println("Dir list ..."+dirList);
byte[] readBuffer = new byte[2156];
int bytesIn = 0;
//loop through dirList, and zip the files
for(int i=0; i<dirList.length; i++)
File f = new File(fileDir2Zip, dirList[i]);
if(f.isDirectory())
//if the File object is a directory, call this
//function again to add its content recursively
String filePath = f.getPath();
zipDir(filePath, zos);
//loop again
continue;
//if we reached here, the File object f was not
//a directory
//create a FileInputStream on top of f
FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(f);
//create a new zip entry
ZipEntry anEntry = new ZipEntry(f.getPath());
//place the zip entry in the ZipOutputStream object
zos.putNextEntry(anEntry);
//now write the content of the file to the ZipOutputStream
while((bytesIn = fis.read(readBuffer)) != -1)
zos.write(readBuffer, 0, bytesIn);
System.out.println("Last");
//close the Stream
fis.close();
catch(Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();Hi
Whatever file exist in directory should execute with out any condition because they delete all files after exection of my process chain. They are using another process chain once a day for deletion of all files in that directory.
So directory always contains fresh files.
Here by using routine in infopackge i am unable to run all files one by one at a time.
As of my knowledge by using infopackage we can run only one file at a time.
Here my question is , can we run more than one file in single run of infopackage?
or can we have any function module to run the infopackage from externally? so that i can use function module in abap program? any ideas..
