How to preserve a row and column in numbers automatically.ie the cells are not consecutivecell a1 a3 etc

working on a league table
when sorting the league table ,I need to preserve the row and column
I can preserve row and column by using the drop down menu on every cell, but would like to do it automatically(2 clicks to every cell)
working in numbers
yosemite 10.2

This technique would be quite slow. Unfortunately, it's the only way I could think of if it's really an Excel file. If it's tab delimited file, you could read a whole thing into 2D array and work on Array instead of reading cell-by-cell.

  • Hi, how can i break the value for a row and column once i have converted the image to the array???????

Hi, I would like to know how can i break the value for a row and column once i have converted the image to the array. I wanted to make some modification on the element of the array at a certain position. how can i do that?
At the moment (as per attachhment), the value of the new row and column will be inserted by the user. But now, I want to do some coding that will automatically insert the new value of the row and the column ( I will use the formula node for the programming). But the question now, I don't know how to split the row and the column. Is it the value of i in the 'for loop'? I've  tried to link the 'i' to the input of the 'replace subset array icon' , but i'm unable to do it as i got some error.
    Please help me!
For your information, I'm using LABView 7.0.

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply.Sorry for the confusion.
I manage to change the array element by changing the row and column value. But, what i want is to allow the program to change the array element at a specified row and column value, where the new value is generated automatically by the program.
Atatched is the diagram. I've detailed out the program . you may refer to the comments in the formula node. There are 2 arrays going into the loop. If a >3, then the program will switch to b, where if b =0, then the program will check on the value of the next element which is in the same row with b but in the next column. But if b =45, another set of checking will be done at a dufferent value of row and column.
I hope that I have made the problem clear. Sorry if it is still confusing.
Hope you can help me. Thank you!!!!

  • I have problem with my iphone 5 when I talk my ear allways tuch the screen and get it on no sound, the screen are not lock, is that possible

I have problem with my Iphone 5, when I talk my ear allways tuch the screen and get it on no sound, the screen are not lock, is ti possible to lock the screen when incomming an outgoing call going on

    Hello Mogulman46,
So what that means is when you have Do Not Disturb turned on, you may have an alert depending on the setting and how you are using your iPhone. So if it is set to Always, then that means that no matter what, your iPhone will not be notified. If it set to Only while the iPhone is locked, then that means that you will not get notification when your iPhone is locked but you will get notifications if your iPhone is being used. Also keep in mind the settings All Calls From can be set to certain contacts like Favorites, Everyone or no one. If you are using Do Not Disturb and you do not need it, then turn it off.
Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • How to layout constraint rows and columns "right"?

    Hi.
I have a complex constraint layout with 8 columns and 11 rows. Since this layout is not an MXML-file, I need to do it in actionscript. Is there a "best pratice" on how to layout this without the Design view in Flash Builder?
Is it possible to display the columns and rows like in HTML, where I could say "border=1" or use css?
    Regards,
    Jo

What makes you think that it is not there? Any form which doesn't have the same set of members across rows and dimensions are asymmetric.
Asymmetric rows and columns contain different sets of members selected across the same dimensions
Oracle Hyperion Planning, Fusion Edition Administrator's Guide
I can add a column with only Q1 and then another column with Q2, Q3, Q4 which will make it an asymmetric form. Keep in mind not to check "Place selection in separate columns".

  • Populate multiple rows and columns based off of a single cell

Does anyone know a way to populate multiple rows and columns based off of the input of a single cell. I'm trying to create a workout tracker that auto populates from a master list of workouts. Example, in A2 the user selects the workout from a drop down menu (St1, St2, St3, etc) and the workout is pulled from the master list and is populated into B2:C5.
I'm using =LOOKUP(A2,Master :: A2:A32,Master :: C2:C32) right now, but it's only drawing the top column. I'm looking for an edit for the formula (or completely new formula) that will place the info from the 1st column of the Master table into the 1st column of the Auto Tracker 1 table and then on down until the 4th column.
Here is a screen shot of what I have now:
And an example of what I'd like to accomplish:
Any and all help is appreciated, and please let me know if there is any more info that I can give that'd help out.

    Hi Mike,
Your screenshots show that you have merged some cells in Column A of both tables. That may be the reason why the LOOKUP function is having trouble working out which range of cells to examine.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Ian.

I was typing a paper last night when the electricity went off, and 5min later went back on, and all the display speakers, the camera display, and all the USB outputs in the back are not working.
    FYI, it's LED Cinema display.
    Solutions? Suggestions?

    Hi,
Actually BACK is standard user command so it is not stopping and going to selection screen.
Give some other use command like 'BCK' and try....

  • How can I print row and column headings?

In AW6 I was able to select Appleworks in the print window and check if I wanted to print row and/or column headings. I have not been able to find how to do this in Numbers. Can anyone tell me how?

    Paco wrote:

Perfectly logical, the feature is unavailable.
    Workaround:
Use a row header and a column header to mimic the missing feature.
    In cell B1 I entered
    =CHAR(CODE("A")-1+COLUMN())
and applied fill to the right
CAUTION, this formula is OK only from colum B thru column Z.
    In cell A2 I entered
    =ROW()
    and applied Fill Down
Then convert column A as header one
convert row A as header one.

  • My phone volume goes down and the ringer icon comes up and stays on blocking view. The buttons are not stuck. Why is this appending and how do I fix it.

Why does my iPhone volume  ringer icon come on by itself, the volume gets turned down on its own then the icon stays on and blocks my view. It also will at any time make any screen switch to large pictures that I can only see a small portion of screen at a time. I have tried too tap screen to make it go back to normal and nothing happens. I then try to turn it off. After several tries I am successful Its hard slide power off button because only a small section is showing. What is happening? How do I fix this?

Unfortunately this is probably a hardware issue and you will need to take it to an Apple Store.

  • How to display 2 dimensional data. i.e with rows and columns?

    Hi,
I want to know how to display multiple, variable
rows and columns that are got from the database through
    queries in forms.
(i,e. a Matrix of Values, something similar to an Excel Spreadsheet).
Is there a component in forms similar to JTABLE that is
available in Java through which MULTIPLE, VARIABLE
rows and columns can be displayed ?.
I am not using a base table since this data is got thru
a number of packages and procedures that are used in
    Loops.
    NOTE : I am using forms 6i.
    Thanks
    Sharath.

I've heard Grant mention adding a Grid component to the Forms toolbox. From the context I would guess this is not yet even under development, so it's not going to be available anytime soon. And not for 6i.

  • I need to take elements from within 2 nested for loops and place them in an array at the specific row and column that I need.

I have tried intializing an array and replacing elements by specifying a particular row, and column, but in the end I get an array with only one element replaced, and I suspect that it is because as the for loops are running through their iterations each time the array is re-initializing. I have a simple vi that I will post below, it is not the exact situation that I have but is a good place for me to get some understanding. I have the row and column indexes being driven by the inner and outer loop iterations, which gives me the pattern I need. I am using the inner iterations as array elements. How do I set this up so that it works and d
    oes keep re-initializing my array.

I have fixed a number of things in your vi.
You were right in thinking that the array was continuously re-initialized. To avoid this, use a shift register (right-click the loop border), which will pass the updated array into the next iteration.
