Hi ,
My problem is still not resolved. I tried applying the people picker property and set a specific field(an email id field) to be available to only admins. Now the field is not visible to the normal users but only admins which is good but that email field
should be able to take normal users as wel as admin's email ID. currently due to the people picker property it only takes admin's ID and not normal user's ID - which is not as per expectation.
What this email ID field does is - when a normal user is logged in he/she wont see this field in that view. But when an admin logs in he/she can switch to admin view and see this field . The admin can put any user's ID in this field and pull out the required
resource's Time Report for modification.
Please let me know how do i overcome my problem. Detailed step description will be very helpfull .
As per Cameron's suggestion (add a rule on the "additional admin section") , i am not sure how exactly that is done. Would help a lot if i got to know how this works.

  • How to add security credentials to SOAP header for EBS Web Service call..

    All,
    I am trying to invoke a webservice that I successfully exposed as a WSDL Web Service using EBS Integrated SOA Gateway. I am using OBIEE 11g Action Framework which uses WebLogic.
    Here are the steps I completed:
    - I exposed a WSDL web service in EBS R12 via Integrated SOA Gateway
    - I granted the access to this service in EBS R12 to user SYSADMIN
    - I used OBIEE 11g to make a Action to call the Web service (using Action Framework) by searching for the WSDL
    - When I try to execute the action: I get the error:
    Action could not be invoked.
    ServiceExecutionFailure :
    Error invoking web service HR_PHONE_API_Service at endpoint http://ip-10-87-33-3.ec2.internal:8000/webservices/SOAProvider/plsql/hr_phone_api/ Missing <wsse:Security> in SOAP Header
    PROBLEM: I am unsure how to add the credentials for SYSADMIN user and password to add the SOAP username/pwd to the outgoing call. Anyone on this forum know how to set up the SOAP to call with the correct credentials? I have been looking at the documentation but it is not clearly explained.

    Dear Heiko,
    did you solve this problem?
    We are facing the same problem. Every parameter that requries "cmd" does not work. I guess we don´t use this paramter the right way.

  • How do I create a Username Validator for a web service.

    I'm trying to figure out how to create a Username validator. I've followed the WSIT documentation and created their calculator service. The service works when I leave security turned off, so I know I'm good up to this point. I right click on the Web Service in Netbeans, and select Edit Web Services Attributes which pops up the Quality of Service window. I click Secure Service to enable security and select Message Authentication over SSL. I then deselect Use Development Defaults. The Validators button never enables; it stays disabled and greyed out. I've trying picking all different kinds of Security Mechanisms and changing their configuration but I can never get the Validators button to enable. I've also noticed a problem where I select Message Authentication over SSL and deselect Use Development Defaults and then click OK to close the Quality Of Service window. If I then go back to the Quality Of Service window Use Development Defaults is turned back on. The only way I have found around this is to keep turning it off, closing the window and then opening the window again. I sometimes have to screw around with the configuration on the Security Mechanism to be able to keep the Use Development Defaults checkbox unchecked.
    My question is if anyone else has had this problem? How do you go about creating a Username Validator on a Web Service? I know WSIT is pretty new and the IDE wizards seem very buggy. I wouldn't mind creating the Validator by hand and mapping it in, I just can not figure out how to do it.

    I read the examples you referred to. I currently use this method in my non WSIT code, I was trying to figure out how you do the same thing with WSIT (or the equivalent). I've continued playing around with the code, and I found a few settings changes to get my JAX-WS 2.1 SOAP Server to talk with my .Net 3.5 SOAP client. I'm going to stick with the client I have now until I feel it's necessary to switch to WSIT.

    I find a article, "Changing The Function Interface of Web Service Enabled Functions"

    You provide credentials by configuring for the HTTP destination via the XSAdmin tool. Directly supplying credentials in the XSJS code itself would not be sure.

    Regards, h9ck3r.

    Hi,
    Per my known, if you want to access other user's personal archive mailbox, you need to assign full access permissions to primary mailbox first.
    There is no way to grant full access permissions to archive mailbox only.

  • How to disable default logging for workshop web services

    Hi there,
    We have created a web service using WL Workshop that we want to deploy to a production server. The problem is that the destination server is not using a default log4j library for the server, but each application initiates its own library.
    When we try to deploy the web service onto the production server, we are getting an error of a log4j/Appender class not found. We can solve the problem by adding any log4j library to the class path at the beginning, but that will cause compatilibity problems with existing applications.
    Is there any way to disable the default web services logging? It looks like the knex library is trying to instantiate this class at deployment. Any way we can disable that option?
    Thanks

    Thanks David for your reply,
    That is indeed what I am trying to do: to add all required libraries within my web-inf folder.
    But it seems that the server itself expects the log4j library to be loaded when the server is initiated. It looks to me that some server-level listener for the web services is starting together with the domain and tries to access the log4j library. This library is not found because it is inside the web-inf folder of my application.
    I do not see any error while starting the server. The error only appears when trying to deploy the application (ear) with the web service. It seems that I am forgetting something, but unless I include the log4j.jar in the classpath when I start the server, i will not be able to avoid the error.
    Suggestions and tests are much welcome.
    thanks!

  • Infopath 2013 SOAP Web Service Data Connection - Error: The file is not a valid XML file

    Here are the steps to replicate the issue I’m having when adding lists.asmx or any other SharePoint web service in InfoPath 2013. This web service opens fine in the browser from my desktop. My account is a farm administrator and is added to the
    web application’s User Policy.  I can use these services just fine using Nintex 2013 Workflow.
    Open InfoPath Designer 2013.
    Select Blank Form and click Design Form button.
    Click “Data” tab.
    Click “From Web Service” and select “From SOAP Web Service”
    Enter https://mysiteurl.com/_vti_bin/lists.asmx?WSDL for the web service definition.
    Click Next.
    Windows Security window pops up.
    Enter a credential. I tried both my account and the farm account. My account is a farm admin and is added to the web application’s User Policy with Full Control.
    Click OK. It prompts for credential multiple times.
    I get below this error messages:
    Sorry, we couldn't open https://mysiteurl.com/_vti_bin/lists.asmx?WSDL
    InfoPath cannot find or cannot access the specified Web Service description.
    The file is not a valid XML file.
    Not enough storage is available to process this command.
    We have a project that is in need of these services using InfoPath so any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Brian_TX,
    For your issue, try to the following methods:
    Change your service binding in web.config to:binding="basicHttpBinding". It seems in VS it defaults to wsHttpBinding.
    Replace all instances of "parameters" from the web service wsdl with the name "parameter"

  • Dynamic destinations for adaptive web service in webdynpro for java

    Hi,
    Please advice me on how to create dynamic destination for adaptive web service model in webdynpro for java.
    Regards,
    Patana

    Hi,
    If this is the case, then use the HTTP destination for this.
    What you need to do is:
    1. Create one HTTP destination in visual administrator at services-> Destinations. Provide HTTP url of the your web service and the security options.
    2. Specify this HTTP destination in the code before executing web service model.
    Write following code for that:
    wdContext.current<node name>Element().modelobject()._setHTTPDestination(<Specify HTTP destination name>);
    Then execute your web service model.
    Now, whenever you want to change the server on which your web service is running, make change in the HTTP Destination in visual administrator.

    My question is How does the Web Service Consumer can handle this Soap Server Error in the SOAP Fault.Or How can we provide a specific information like  'The value '123456789' of element 'CompanyCode' is not valid.It exceeds the Maximum Length'.
    I read this /people/sap.user72/blog/2006/01/16/xi-propagation-of-meaningful-error-information-to-soap-client blog .Where it is mentioned that the Web Service Consumer can handle while calling the Web Service.Is there any other solution?
    Kindly appreciate your help.

    Thank You Stefan for your kind reply.
    So  you mean to say if we use the XML Validation .we cannot provide proper error information to the calling Web Service Consumer .And While calling a Web Service they cannot Extract the Exact Message in the Text Filed(<text>) present under the Detail Element (<detail>) in the <SOAP:Fault> node. as
    <text>com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessageFormatException: XML Validation for payload with root element name MT_Out_CustomerMaster_FPMReq , target namespace http://Pegasystems.com/I06_Customers Failed!Errors Encountered During Parsing

    2.cvc-type.3.1.3: The value '123456789' of element 'CompanyCode' is not valid.**
    3.cvc-maxLength-valid: Value 'asdf' with length = '4' is not facet-valid with respect to maxLength '1' for type 'null'.
    4.cvc-type.3.1.3: The value 'asdf' of element 'OperationType' is not valid.
    That is why we have to use the Fault messages and  Field Lengths has to be Validated  in the Server proxy.
    Please Correct me If I am wrong.

  • Infopath 2013/REST Web Service - XML Data format

    I've created an Infopath 2013 form and connected it to an existing REST Web Service. The form connects successfully, but I can't get to the nodes that contain the actual data. The REST results look like this:
    <wddxPacket version='1.0'>
    <header/>
    <data>
    <struct>
    <var name='MIDDLENAME'><string>S</string></var>

    <var name='LASTNAME'><string>Doe</string></var>
    </struct>
    </data>
    </wddxPacket>
    When I connect to the web service in InfoPath, here is what I see:
    Notice that when we expand the tree, it only shows the "struct" node. How do I get down to the actual data fields?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi cflbasser ,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to query data using rest web service in InfoPath 2013.

  • How to Use SOAPArray to Exchanged Data with a Web Service

    The method of a prototype Web service I created is defined to take many parameters
    and return an object of a user defined class. Furthermore, the user defined class
    includes data elements of another user defined class and the Java ArrayList class.
    This works with a Java client referencing the WebLogic created client.jar file
    but I don't know how well it will work with a non-Java client. In particular,
    with Perl which is the language that will be used by the developer who first will
    test with the prototype.
    In posts to this newsgroup use of "language-specific, generic containers" has
    been discouraged and the "language-agnostic" SOAPArray recommended. I have searched
    this newgsroup and the Web for examples of how to use a SOAPArray in a Web service
    EJB to receive parameters and return results but found none.
    Will someone refer me to an example or give an overview of how a Java Web service
    EJB running in WebLogic 6.1 would use SOAPArray to get parameter values and return
    results?
    Also, I would like confirmation that it is best to use SOAPArray to exchange data
    with a Web service to achieve the goal of a service accessible by any language.
    Thank you.

    Replies in-line:
    How are the structures, e.g. gltrans-workType, defined in the Web service?The structure is made up of nested Java Beans, but this does not mean that the
    client for your web service has to be written in Java. The WSDL that I sent contains
    everything that a .NET-based (or Perl-based, or Python-based, or VB-based, or
    C++ based) Web Service Stack needs to correctly create all the data types in the
    web services' signature! That's the beauty of XML Schema! It's programming language
    independent :-)
    In
    other words, what definition in Java resulted in the WSDL statements?The WSDL wasn't produced by WLS 6.1, but it (WLS 6.1) can consume it.
    What is the signature of method submitGLTransWorkAsJavaBean() in the
    Web service?public void submitGLTransWorkAsJavaBean(GlTransactionsCpyType glTransactionsCpyType)
    GlTransactionsCpyType is the outer-most Java Bean. WLS 6.1 does not generate
    Java Beans for you, but it will use ones that you defined. See the Java Bean tutorial
    on the Javasoft sitem for details on how to create a Java Bean.
    Was the WSDL generated using the WL tools for creating a Web service?No.
    Conclusion:
    You asked for someone to provide you with an example of how to use SOAP array
    in a WSDL, which is what the attached file contained :-) What you want to do now
    is find a tool that can generate Java Bean code from this WSDL (Apache Axis has
    a wsdl2java tool that should work), or create the Java Beans yourself. Afterwards,
    create a WLS 6.1 Web Service a expose it for a Perl or .NET client.

    1) What are the different messages that OCOD may return for a web service request? I need all the messages of all the scenarios which OCOD can meet, for example:
    - If the file is rejected (Error message)
    - If the file is accepted (to clarify that the records have been created)
    - if the application is unavailable (maintenance or web service is down)
