I have uploaded the file succesfully.. now we need to download the file...... which has been uploaded..... for that we have implemnted the Query as..
select max(id) from APEX_APPLICATION_FILES ,here the latest uploaded record will be retrieved and shown.
Now We want to provide the user with a list of files to pick from for downloading..,Dat is he should be shown the list of files which is available from dat he has to select one file to downlaod ???

Create a report using the following SQL statement:
SELECT ID,

CREATED_ON
FROM APEX_APPLICATION_FILES
ORDER BY CREATED_ON DESCThere are other fields available from the table, but the above gives you a start.
Then edit the report's Report Attributes.
Edit the CREATED_ON column and pick a Number/Date Format to use for the display and Apply Changes
Edit the ID column. In the Column Link section, enter:

Target: URL

Apply Changes and run your report

Hi I've a small problem I'm trying to solve but can't seem to find anything on this.
The issue is this I've developed an application and the user can log on and use it successfully. For those users that are visually impared I need a link on my main application to a High Contrast version of the same application.
Is this even possible.
I don't want to have to create a new application using a high contrast theme, as I would need to maintain 2 applications in the end.
Is there a way of changing the colors at run time to a higher contrast version.

I just wanted to add to this discussion with some functionality introduced in APEX 4.1 that may help here. In APEX 4.1, we introduced a new 'High Contrast Mode' which basically identifies sessions as optimized for high contrast in the APEX development environment and websheet runtime. This allowed us to get around some issues we were having when a user was running in 'Windows High Contrast Mode' (where CSS background images are ignored) and also some issues with insufficent contrast. To read more about this mode, please see the 'About Constrast Mode' section in the 'Accessibility in Oracle Application Express' appendix here:

Now, although this mode is available for use within your own database applications, it really only provides the framework for you to provision the mode and importantly, will not make any changes to your application (that's still up to you). But I think the framework is still useful and provides some nice API's to help you turn the mode on or off and also determine the status of the mode.

It's rudimentary, just showing 1 region if High Contrast Mode is on, and another if it's off. This page has the following:

So as I said, the example I gave as kinda simple. But you could easily extend this to say include an additional CSS file when running in HC Mode (containing the CSS styles and properties that would give you the increased contrast). You could do this by adding a page zero page process to run before header, that calls the apex_util.is_high_contrast_session API to determine if the current session is in HC mode, then include the CSS file if so. How to find login user with the largest account

Hello. I'm looking to put together a bash script that can do two things: (1) determine the shortname of the user with the largest account in /Users and (2) look up their full/long name. I'm going to use this script to help identify who the user on a computer and while I know that's possible that a sometime-user may have a larger account than the normal-user on any given computer, the results of a script should be sufficient in most cases for my needs.
I'm not sure the best way to around this. I know that I can use "du -m -d1 /Users" as root:

I know that I can also use "dscacheutil -q user" to get a full list of all users on a system.

We're running JAMF Recon for inventory and my supervisor wants to create a report that lists the primary user of the Mac... assuming that the largest user account may be the primary user. In this case, disk space is not the issue, the top admins simply would like to be able to associate names with individual machines. This isn't the most elegant way to do it and it's not fool-proof, but it'll be correct more often than not, which they're satisfied with.
Can I ask one more question? Using your script, I've started testing with one building and on a number of Mac, the "admin" (shortname) account is turning out to be the largest account. Is there a way to exclude the admin account from consideration?

You requirement of restricting users for application data can solved by adding the company code in the organization level button and the user will be restricted to mainatin application (transaction) data for the org element for which he is authorized for, if the transaction has objects which check company code.
Customizing data authorization can be very tricky, as most of the customizing transactions are for maintaining customizing tables will not necessarily have an authorization check for org elements. In this case you may to manually insert a object called S_TABU_LIN alongwith S_TABU_DIS it will perform the job of restricting authorizations.
In cases where the end user is accessing tables directly with SE16 S_TABU_DIS is the object that is check and maintained in PFCG.But,Such a restriction cannot be made with S_TABU_DIS alone. Fortunately SAP provides us with another authorization object S_TABU_LIN (Authorization for Organizational Unit), which can be used in conjunction with S_TABU_DIS to enforce such a restriction.
This authorization object works only with Maintenance Views and Customizing tables. Also note that an Organization Criterion is a prerequisite for implementing the same
A detailed step by step procedure to be followed is given below:
1. The first step in implementation of line authorization is defining an Organization Criterion. For this we need to access the u201CSAP Reference IMGu201D customization page from SPRO transaction.
2. From the IMG display screen select SAP Web Application Server -> System Administration -> Users and Authorizations -> Line Oriented Authorizations. Select the execute ( ) button for the u201CDefine Organization Criteriau201D.
3. The resulting table display show all available Org Criteria values existing in the system. For our purposes we will create a new Org Criteria to suit our needs. Select the tab u201CNew Entriesu201D as shown below.
4. Give an appropriate name starting with Y or Z for the new value. Note that a name starting with another letter will not be accepted by the SAP system. Click on u2018Saveu2019 button to save the newly created Org Criteria. This opens a new window asking for a Workbench Transport Request. This would be required so as to transport the new Line authorization restrictions further to the test and production systems.
5. Now select the new Org Criterion u201CY_TESTu201D and double-click the u201CAttributesu201D tab as below to define the various Org Attributes.
6. Provide the new Attribute name and Description for the same. Also fill the Authorization field value from the provided dropdown (1st Org Criterion Attribute u2026. 8th Org Criterion Attribute). The search help field is an optional field which can be filled if a search criterion exists or has been created earlier for the specific purpose. This field enables the u201CF4u201D when filling entries in the authorization object
7. We already have a search help (C_T001) available, which provides as an F4 help the list of all available Company Codes in the system.
Note that we can create up to 8 Org Attributes as per our requirements (by selecting u201CNew Entriesu201D tab), each corresponding to a column in the target table.
8. Selecting the attributes link again will show us a list of all defined attributes and the authorization Field it will appear in. Now that we have defined the Attribute Field that we require, we need to associate each attribute to the corresponding Table Field in the target table.
Select one of the attributes as below and double-click on the u201CTable Fieldsu201D button to define the field associations.
9. Select the u201CNew Entriesu201D tab to create a new table field association.
10. The View/table field must be filled with the target table which we need to control.
11. The u201CField Nameu201D will require the field name of the target table which be linked with the specific Org Attribute. Performing an F4 on this field will display the list of all possible fields available in the View/table provided earlier. Here we will select the field name BUKRS (Company Code). Save the entries in the same workbench request created earlier.
12. The next step would be to activate this new Org Criterion so that SAP now checks the authorization for S_TABU_LIN for every user
13. In the u2018IMG displayu2019 go to SAP Web Application Server -> System Administration -> Users and Authorizations -> Line Oriented Authorizations. Select execute ( ) button for the u201CActivate Organization Criteriau201D.
14. From the resulting customization screen tick the check-box for the Org Criterion that we have created. On saving the settings the system then asks for a Customizing Transport Request for further transport into test and development systems.
15. Any user without this authorization will not be allowed in to the SM30 display/change screen for this table.
16. In the role for which the S_TABU_DIS provides maintenance access for the table , we will now also need to maintain the object S_TABU_LIN.
17. On selecting change button besides any authorization field you will need to select the Organization criterion which needs to be maintained here. Note that only one Org Criterion can be maintained in one instance of S_TABU_LIN object.

How to migrate Apex users with existing passwords.

Our apex env finally getting a upgrade from 3.1.1 to 4.1.1 (I know, it's been overdue for years)
Some of our apps use 'Application Express' authentication, and have few hundreds users in Apex (and users belong to diff user groups).
The issue is, the 4.1.1 env is set up on a brand new server and DB, we want to migrate these users with their existing passwords from the 3.1.1 env.
I tried exporting the workspace, and the users are exported as below,

Chat App: how to store the user IP in database when they login.

i am working on chat application. first i made a login GUI form. after login when we run the Chat program, it ask the ip address of the server to whom it want to connect. and if u enter the ip address, it will connect to the server and chat will begin, thats working perfect.
but i want to show the list of users who r logged on and when i simply click on the user name, chat should begin.
i have the logic that when any user log in, then its IP address will be stored in the database. this ip address will shown to the online users.
but i dont know how to store the user information in database when they log in. can any body suggest me wht lines of code i should use.

If it's used on the internet, then your users' IP addresses will almost always be either a) those of their routers, or b) private IP addresses, and in both cases, multiple users can have the same IP address.

Here is the scenario. I am trying to restrict the user to access only WBS under a cost center but not to have complete access to the Cost Center. I in my way to do, I found out that we can create a user name using OPS6 tcode and use the reference number of the user we created in CJ20N, so as only the person who was added in the Responsible Person for Proj/ Capital Investment Prog list will be able to access particular WBS.
Now my question is, How to map the user which I created using OPS6 tcode to user in user master record. I am not able to map the user, as its taking any random name to add in the list. Could some one please help me in mapping the user created in the list with the user master record.

Thanks for your time and finding SAP note for me. I got the problem fixed. The solution for the above problem is, When we create a responsible person for the project through OPS6 tcode, we have a column called "Offer User", next to the person responsible. We must add the user name next to it. And we can add only the user name which is present in the user master record.
It solved my problem, but when I pressed F1 for help in this column, there is nothing mentioned about its mapping or anything.

you can get into SUIM-->where used lists, check for users with profile SAP_ALL you can get a list of users who have
it. and you can get into SUIM through SU01 from user information system link.
you can execute RSUSR002 from SA38/SE38.
RSUSR002 is the report which gets you the whereused list for profiles within roles, users.
you can get it from transaction SECR ofcourse you are executing the same report.
you can get from UST04 table and obviously USR04 also because sometimes you miss some details from UST04 because of sync problems.

TOY STORE DEMO (How to default the user name)

When I logged on to my network I used my user name: scott.
Now when I opened the signin.jsp page, I want the user name control box default to my network user name, i.e., scott. How can I do it? (The current demo default the user name to blank).

If you Google for os user name java site:java.sun.com you'll find the page that lists all System properties that provide info you can retrieve from a Java program.
This info will allow you to write the appropriate line in your overridden entity object create() method where programmatic defaults are performed.
However, this scheme won't work well for a web-based application since the code is running on the web server.
