Is there a way to bring the n900 back to the out of the box look ( i tried the settings/restore original settings) it just do a reset. i need to delete every thing and bring it back to the original look.As if i have Windows installed on a hard disk then we do a full fresh installation on the computer?
Will using the nokia update software and reinstall the software will do the trick

Windows [edit] N900 (XP) MS Windows users willing to update the N900 can use the Nokia Software Updater or see the Flasher documentation.
It is also possible to flash the N900 directly without using the Nokia Software Updater (NSU). This is handy when you would like to flash the device with the same firmware that is already installed on the N900. The NSU will update only if there is a version newer than the one installed on the device.
To flash direcly from the XP command line, follow these steps:
Download and install the latest version of Flasher (e.g. maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2.exe).
Download the latest firmware (.bin) file and save to 'c:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5\'
Fully charge the battery.
Unplug charger and switch off the device.
Open the command prompt on XP. Start + Run. Type cmd and press Enter.
Change directory to the flasher program
cd "c:\Program Files\maemo\flasher-3.5"
Connect the USB cable while pressing 'u' key on the N900 (details on the wiki)
Run the following command:
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R
The update will take about 4 minutes after which the N900 will reboot and display the Welcome screen with Regional settings.

Protective cover as in screen protector? This would have nothing to do with the silent switch.
If you're referring to an actual case though... take the case off and see if the problem continues.
It may be as simple as the silent switch being lose, which will require a device replacement to resolve. -
Iphone would not restore---- Error -50. I have tried to restore, and it restored it to the new point that it created after 5.0 was installed. How can I get it an older restore point from my backups and restore it on another computer? The phone has been wiped out. I can see earlier backups in my C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup folder. There are four subfolders in this address. I need my contacts, photos, and messages back. I know this is a common error but I can not figure it out. I have ran the other troublshoot items in the error steps for 13 and 14 like apple says. Is there a way to call apple and get a step by step of how to restore from another restore point? Does anybody have a solution????

Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts. Removed all virus protection and firewall.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.Used the Microsoft fix it.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online. Doesn't matter.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network. I do not know how to do this or how to find the correct/full/complete restore point. There should be more information for this. -
I just updated to iOS 7 and now my iMessages won't work. It just keeps saying activating iMessage but it's not doing anything; I tried signing in with my Apple ID but then it just lets me send them using my email address and the number the phone was originally set to; even though that is not my actual number that I use as I changed it through Vodafone so the SIM card now has a different number.
It won't even let me click on my number to select it; it is just that faded grey colour and there are no ticks by it;
And when it says "may be a standard SMS charge to activate" I'm not even getting a text through to be able to activate it anyway

I want to give my iPhone to a relative. I would like to leave it relatively untouched, and just deactivate the phone so she can activate it for herself. How can I do this?
If it can't be done with just the phone part, how can I reset the phone to original and keep it with the 1.1.4 software?Just pull your SIM card out. She just need to get a new SIM card to open a new account for herself. You can do a restore if you want to wipe it clean.

How to remove the IT policy from my Torch 9800, or how to reset the device to original setting
I have a Torch 9800 formerly- used for business emails. According to our company policy there was an IT policy installed to the device hence would force the user to set password protecting the device.
Now this device has been retired and I like to use it only for regular phone calls thus do not like to have a password protection. My question is:
How to remove the IT policy from the device?
or
How to reset the device to original setting?
I have been trying to swipe and scrub the device several times but that IT policy still exist. Need help......

Can I pair my iPhone and iPad so I can put the phone in my bag and take calls threw the iPad like the new ASUS tablet/phone combo ?
As a Quadriplegic I keep dropping my mouth stick on the ground and I fumble for my phone when it rings the table on my wheelchair is cluttered with my iPad iPhone mouth stick and TV and AC remotes I want to be able to put my iPhone in my bag and receive calls threw the iPad.
All new electric wheelchairs allow you to pair the joystick or chin control of the chair to only one device so currently you have to sacrifice your use of one to use the other if we can pair the iPhone and iPad by wifi we can then sit the iPad in a mount on our wheelchairs and pair it ia bluetooth and operate them with ease .
Can anyone out there help me or pass on my needs to a development team within Apple, please help as I don't want to have to buy the ASUS tablet/phone
PaulI would like to be able to do this also but, i'm not sure how to set my iPad to manually sync for one thing and also, when I connect my iPad to my new (recently purchased,first time,new to this) iMac it only gives me the option to either set up as 'new' or 'restore to my recent iPhone back up'. I just want them to be separate. How can I fix this please?

A computer illiterate friend created 3 accounts on his iPhone 5 but forgot the passwords. He can't reset the password as his yahoo address is no longer valid. Erasing the phone doesn't solve the issue as the Apple server identifies the hardware as registered. How to register the phone with Apple?
I helped him create a new email address and new iCloud account on my Mac but when we try to register the phone with Apple it says: Maximim accounts limit reached for this device. How can he register the phone? I read different threads and found out that only Apple care can do that. We're in Romania and don't know where to call. Any suggestions on how we fix this?When I checked the support site for Romania, you apparently don't have an Apple Care contact center. Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software. -

I just purchased an Apple TV. I have a pc running windows 7. It is connected to a router and the router is connected to a wireless router. I connect my iPhone, iPad and apple tv to wireless network but do not know how to put the pc on the wifi network so the Apple TV can do home share.
I don't mean to be facetious but sometimes the simplest things are overlooked. To connect to your library you have to have the computer where the iTunes library is located running and with iTunes open. It also needs to be on the same network. My network is dual band and works with either stream but a friend of mine does not. He has to set the computer and the Apple TV to the same band. Hope this helps.
