How to find out which feature is Licensed in Oracle 11G?
Hi,
while reading oracle documentation, i found a feature "Health monitor " which i want to test on my Oracle 11G instance. However, i am not sure if my database is licensed or not for this feature and whether this is a feature which comes along with Enterprised edition or not
1) May i know where can i find out if a given feature is licensed or comes free with enterprised edition?
2) In my database, can i assume all the features given under dba_feature_usage_statistics are licensed?
Thanks

Thanks Rajesh for your quick response.
How can we find out a specific feature falls under which category?
Say Health monitor .. I think it should fall under Oracle Diagnostic Pack.Yes ..
Please read below for details on Options and Packs:

I don't appreciate you posting this question in several forums at the same time.
If I would know you also posted this on Asktom, I wouldn't even have bothered.
As to your 'issue':
First of all: somehow cursor_sharing MUST have been set to FORCE. Oracle is a predictable system, not a fruitmachine.
Your statement the '0' is replaced by a bind variable anyway is simply false. If you really believe it is not false, SUBMIT a SR.
But your real issue is not Oracle: it is your 'application', which is a mess anyway. Allowing for alphanumeric numbers is a really bad idea.
Right now you are already putting workaround on workaround on workaround on workaround.
Issue is the application: it is terminal., and you either need to kill it, or to replace it.

How to generate TPC-E schema/data sets in Oracle 11g
Hi,
I want to use TPC-E schema in my Oracle 11g database (Standard) and also want to use DATA SETS from this benchmark for some kind of testing.
I've download EGen v1.8.0 from this TPC website:
http://www.tpc.org/tpce/default.asp
but don't know who to implement this benchmark database into my computer's database. I'll appreciate if someone please suggest me how to do this...
Thanks alot.

I want to find Optimal size of a data block size as this is the one parameter which can increase the performance of a database or decrease it.If there is a single optimal size, that would surely be the default Oracle block size - as Oracle should know perhaps better than any of us, just what block size differences do as it is their code that uses it?
Can I ask why you said that you would not have chosen this topic as a thesis?My leaning has always been to expert systems and A.I. Even designed and written my own expert system language years ago. One thing that is critical in such systems is how you structure data - and that has a nice database angle to it. One that I believe can still be exploited for research purposes.
Don't you think that it'll benefit DBA's or database developer after I reach a successful conclusion?To be honest, in the real world of database systems, the least of my concerns are data block sizes. For example, we're busy putting together a storage array that should have a maximum I/O pipe size of 40Gb. In comparison, we currently use dual 2Gb fibre channels on most of our servers for our I/O.
Technology moves fast. And perhaps there is an ideal block size for the standard storage array and Oracle instance today - but that could invalidated by new technology next year. Would I want to spend time and effort studying and analysing and researching a very specific technical subject, that perhaps is not considered as of that critical importance by DBAs and perhaps can be outdated with new technology and techniques?
I honestly do not want to put you off studying db block sizes. Perhaps there's still some critical issues to uncover in that respect. But personally.. there are many other subject areas in database technology that peak my interest a lot more. But then you have your personal preferences and likes and dislikes - and data blocks could be your muse. :-) -
How to query Database via Mobile WebDynpro with Java Dictionary?
Hi all,
I'm developing a simple mobile webdynpro appplication using Dictionary(DC). My Question is, how the Java Dictionary can query/insert/update/delete the underlying default database tables? I'm reluctant to use EJB as it is just for a simple application. Is there any quick and simple way to achieve this?
Any help would be much appreciate.Hi,
Dictonary project will helps you in creating tables in the backendand creating the same context structure in your WebDynpro application..
But for doing update/add records you need to write code .Please check this How to create tables in Database when webdynpro project is deployed

Human Task Requirement and form design in Oracle 11g
Dear Forum Users,
A). Suppose there are 2 independent user tasks in a workflow and in between there is a automated task that does something with a back end call (to check or to retrieve so information or a decision). At a certain moment the first user task is started and finished. Normally speaking, when this task is finished, then the automated task is processed and the second task will be added to the worklist of that user (if he is authorised to process both user tasks). The user then can go back to the worklist, find the task and click on it to process. What is really required is that the user SHOULD NOT go back to the worklist and click and open the second task from the worklist.
If the second user task can be handled by the same user as the first user task then is there a way to open it for him automatically ? (or via a popup) (so it looks as if it's a following screen)
B). The form design issue is that there are more inputs on 1 line to give it a more natural appearance, like address inputs. It's a lot of work to get those things done with split screens etc. An example (in courier to get the alignment proper) ...... Is there an easy way out or standard way of doing this?
Street/number: ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄
Zipcode/City: ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄
Thank you for your answers and suggestions
Best Regards
Dwai BanerjeeThanks Mr.Frank for your replay
but i don't mean the right alignment for input text .
I'm working for Arabic interface project , and i changed the language from the control panel and it works fine in the run time for messages and directions from right to left
but in design it not good it from left to right and want the design form to be from right to left
Notes : i used trinidad-config and i changed the property <right-to-left>true</right-to-left>
but i did't work -

From the trace files, we see that the issue is with the seeded view, mrp_item_sourcing_levels_v.
Need pointers for fixing the performance.The ETRM says this about the view:
***** Warning: Oracle Internal Use Only *****
Oracle Corporation does not support access to Oracle
applications data using this object, except from standard Oracle Applications programs.
which is a powerful suggestion that you should not be addressing this view directly. Looking at the source code for the view, it has a bunch of UNIONs that may prevent view merging, and all the queries have loads of hints coded within them. So really, there is little you can do about this.
It looks pretty simple to re-write your query to avoid addressing this view, you are using it only to retrieve a couple of columns. If you look at the source code for the view you'll see that you can get them easily without going through the view.

ORA-01110: data file 1: 'D:\APP\ADMINISTRATOR\ORADATA\ORCL\SYSTEM01.DBF'Restore finished successfully. But Recover is not.
Can you delete or move D:\APP\ADMINISTRATOR\ORADATA\ORCL\REDO01.LOG - redolog files to othere directory.
And recover again. Because this redo log files is belonging to other database.

Access to BPM Task/Process CONTEXT data with the BPM Java API
Dear all,
is there a possible way to extract the content data from a process Instance? We want to read out all the data of the current intstances from a backend system. The API CE7.3 SP3 supports only (or we didn't find it) Instance Header data (like start-time,..)
Regards,
ChristianHi
There's no straight way to retreive process instance context variables.
But In my mind, there is a hack way - find appropriate tables in oracle db, where BPEM stores information about process instances and read it with jdbc. -
How to store and use the BLOB data in Oracle 11G?
Recentlly,when I tested the Blob data in Oracle11G ,I found that there were too many differences between the SQL
Server and the Orcale on the capabilities.In Orcale ,I created the table like this:
create table point
xid number(10) primary key,
North number(30,15) default null,
West number(30,15) default null,
South number(30,15) default null,
East number(30,15) default null,
Area number(30,15) default null,
Len number(30,15) default null,
Geometry BLOB default null
organization index overflow
tablespace "Tab1"
lob (Geometry) store as securefile
tablespace "Tab1"
enable storeage in row
chunk 4096
pctversion 20
nocache
no logging
compress high
and I stored 10248 rows in this table,
then ,I used "select geometry from point where xid > ? and xid < ?" as the testing SQL langauage in Java and the
programme runed once per 5000 pieces of memory.
the total time used in Orcale is twice more than that in SQLServer.In my Application programs, once the same
orders runed,their differences were three times and more.As usually,the capability of Orcale is more strongger
than the SQLServer.Why?select geometry from point where xid > ? and xid < ?"Does an index on XID exist?
Are statistics current for table & indexes? -
Hello
I am using CR version 11.5.12.1838 and I would like to display/insert a BLOB field into a CR report and this BLOB field has a .PDF file in it. Is there anyway this can be done?
Your help would be appreciated
Thank you
alphaHi Alpha
Not as far as CR is concerned. Note that even adding a PDF as an OLE object to cr will result in only the 1st page being rendered.
From what I gather in the discussion here, I don't believe CR is the utility that can be used in this case.

How to Pass Multiple Parameters To ReportReuest Method in Oracle BI 11g
Hi,
Am integrate Oracle BI Publisher 11g via Web Services in Oracle Forms,For that am developing code in PublicReportServiceClient Class. This worked properly with out passing parameter to the report. so how to pass parameters to the report . If Report is requried some Parameters to generate report.
If any one knows about How to Passing Multiple Parameters to ReportRequest Methos in Oracle 11g. Pls help me.
Am trying with the below code for PassParameters to ReportReuest Method in Oracle BI 11g. But by using this code am able to pass only one parameter to the Report, not for multiple Parameter Passing.
ArrayOfParamNameValue PnameValue=new ArrayOfParamNameValue();
ParamNameValue Namevalue=new ParamNameValue();
Namevalue.setName("P_SNO"):
ArrayOfString aos=new ArrayOfString();
aos.getItem().add("2");
Namevalue.setValues(aos);
PnameValue.getItem().add(Namevalue);
ReportRequest RepReq = new ReportRequest();
RepReq.setParmeterNameValues(PnameValue);
Following method callRunReport() with an array of parameters used in Oracle Bi 10g,To pass multiple report parameters to ReportRequest method.
public void callRunReport (String reportPath, String[] paramName, String[] paramValue, Stringusername, String password, String format, String template, String outFile)
try {
bip_webservice.proxy.PublicReportServiceClient myPort =new bip_webservice.proxy.PublicReportServiceClient();
// Calling runReport
ReportRequest repRequest = new ReportRequest();
repRequest.setReportAbsolutePath(reportPath);
repRequest.setAttributeTemplate(template);
repRequest.setAttributeFormat(format);
repRequest.setAttributeLocale(“en-US”);
repRequest.setSizeOfDataChunkDownload(-1);
if (paramName != null)
ParamNameValue[] paramNameValue = new ParamNameValue[paramName.length];
String[] values = null;
for (int i=0; i<paramName.length; i++)
paramNameValue[i] = new ParamNameValue();
paramNameValue.setName(paramName[i]);
values = new String[1];
values[0] = paramValue[i];
paramNameValue[i].setValues(values);
repRequest.setParameterNameValues(paramNameValue);Ramani_vadakadu wrote:

the above code we are using apex JS to BI publisher calling for report as PDF
i don't know exactly where your parameters , did you customize my link to multiple parameters

How to find bpel instance in 11g based on the index values using Java APIs
Hi ,
In SOA10G we had option to find the instances based on the index value using Java APIs like below.
WhereCondition criteria= new WhereCondition(SQLDefs.CX_index_1 + " = ?");
criteria.setString(1, "indexValue");
Locator mLoc = getLocator();
IInstanceHandle[] foundInstances = mLoc.listInstancesByIndex(criteria);
Please tell me how to achieve the same functionality in SOA 11G using Java APIs
Regards,
SabaI have multiple bpel in my composite. I checked in ci_indexes table and it shows the instance number of the bpel process. But the em console is showing only the composite instance number. when I opened composite instance, I could see all the bpel process with instance number in the audit trail. How can I find the the actual composite instance number that I should search for in the em console ???
