How to read a property in XSL?

Hi
I am trying to access a property in xsl and then invoke a service if the property value is set to true.
Here is what I have done until now:
1. Create a Normalized message nm
2. Set the property: nm.setProperty("ABC", "TRUE")3. nm.setConten(message)4. request.setInMessage(nm)5. send(request)Now I want to access the property in xsl to test a condition, how do I do this? Please help me;....

i dont remember from the top of my head + i'm falling asleep. but.. try this
IPortalComponentContext ctx = componentRequest.getComponentContext();
IPortalComponentProfile profile = ctx.getProfile();
String value = profile.getProperty("propertyID");
componentRequest is avaiable in JSP just like the response object. You need not to instantiate it.
getProperty("propertyID") is used to retrieve whatever propertyid you have in your portalapp.xml for that particular component you are executing.

How to Read a Property called "due date"

I want to create a AppleScript that reads the to dos in the Today list of Things and display a Growl message which works but then I wanted to put into the title the due date. In the the 'Open Dictionary" for Things' To Do class there is a property called 'due date'. But when I try to read it out I cannot compile the script:
set taskDueDate to due date of taskItem
I get this dialog box error:
Syntax Error: Expected end of line, etc. but found class name.
and the cursor ends up on the 'date' token.
Any idea how to access that property?

How to read a property file..urgent

Hi ,
This is kinda urgent if you can help! I am a new bee to servlet and java.
My JSP calls a java class file. In the class file i establish my connection to database.
My requirement is to read a property file for the database name, username and password and connet to the database using JDBC(database is oracle).
which class to use. I know something about properties class. Is there any other class which can read my property file.
Or is there any other all together a better way to do it.

Inside your WAR file somewhere under the WEB-INF directory. This space is protected, whereas the ROOT (of course) is not. Unless you would like someone else to read your properties file...
Once you decide where you want it, post the section of code where you load the properties file, we can probably help you figure out where you path is wrong.

How will read the property file on dynamically?

hi,
I developed 2 java files...in both the files i am reading the some content from .property file(Notes.properties)....
I created the jar file call Aix.jar using the following command.
jar -cvf Aix.jar *.class(without specifying the notes.properties file)...
then i executed the java file using the folowing command
java -cp Notes.jar;Aix.jar NotesToolTest
now i am getting following exception:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
Caused by: java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name Notes, locale en_US
at java.util.ResourceBundle.throwMissingResourceException(Unknown Source)
at java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundleImpl(Unknown Source)
at java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundle(Unknown Source)
at NotesToolTest.<clinit>(NotesToolTest.java:28)
I got the problem why this happening...because notes.properties is not included in jar file...that's why the above exception is coming.
But my problem is can i run the java file that will take .prooperties file dynamically(if .property is available on the current directory)...

because notes.properties is not included in jar file..Wrong. It is simply not available in the classpath.
The solution is either putting the properties file in the classpath of JVM used, or adding the system path to the propertiesfile to the classpath of the JAR.

How to set the read only property for dynamic ALV column

I have built one dynamiv ALV and I have one name column inside that ALV for which I have to set read only property based on two column fields that exist in the same ALV,say IS_SP and IS_CORP of type boolean.
If any one of the flag is 'X',i have to make that name column as display only and
If both flag are not set,it should be displayed as ediatable column.
I have written one method as INIT_ALV which gets called when ALV is loaded.
Code is as follows:
lr_column_settings ?= wd_this->alv_all_roles.
lt_columns = lr_column_settings->get_columns( ).
LOOP AT lt_columns INTO ls_column.
CASE ls_column-id.
   WHEN <NAMECOLUMN>. "name column which should be editable/display

ENDLOOP.
I dont want to use cell variants also.
Help me to achieve this.

How to read contents of a property file sequentially

hello all,
please can any one tell me how to read contents of a property file sequentially.
i saw most of the classes provided by JAVA API, which get All keys and there return type is enumeration which dosent preserve , or may the getKeys() method of those classes do not preserve the sequential order.
Kindly do let me know if anyone has done this before.

The best solution is that you redesign your program so that it does not depend on the order of the entries in the properties file.
If you really want to stay with your design, you will have to read the properties file yourself, line by line, just like you would read any other text file, and parse the content of each line yourself.

When i click on a submit button i need to enable/disable the Read only property of MessageTextInput item.

You need to make use of Partial Page Rendering (PPR) & SPELL. Modifying the bean property in PFR is not supported in OAF.

How to use/read a property in a WSDL file?

Hello list,
Does anybody know how to use a property (e.g. myapp.host.name) in a WSDL file to dynamically switch between a certain host through the use of a property file?
My property file would look like this:
myapp.host.name=<some-ip-address-or-dns>
myapp.host.port=1234
I would save this property file as myapp.properties.
In a WSDL file that I receive from a 3rd-party I want to remove the hardcoded hostname and replace it with my property. For instance, something like this:

<soap address location="http://abcdks02:1234/avb_xsd/start.edw?MySource=WebService></soap:address>
</port>{code}
should be replaced by this:
{code}<port binding="tns:DoSomething" name="DoSomething">

</port>Is there a fast, efficient and clean way to do this? I do not want to use maven2 filtering, because that forces a new re-deployment every time you change the value of the property. I also want to avoid Spring, because we're trying to get rid of Spring in our project.
What else can I use? I am sure there is a fast and efficient way to do this.

I have used the method you have mentioned to change the target end point. And that was successful. Thank you. Apart from this I have another issue. I want my web service read some database related values from properties file only when the web service is deployed. Currently the java application read the database related values in a static block. I have made this java application to a web service. I am new to java and thought of there may be something like ServletContextListener where I can read properties file. This allows me to read properties file only when the web application is deployed.

I have an xsl which would read the values
as :

I would like to know if its possible to read the node name "courseStartDate" through xsl, which could be stored in a variable and then the corresponding value could be retrieved??

How to use the property-loader?

Hello,
i´m using TS 3.5 and LV 8.0. Now i also want to use the built-in property-loader from Teststand.
Is there somewhere a documentation for "beginners" how to use this property-loader? At the end i want to read parameters from an ascii-file which updates my input-parameters of the steps in the current-sequence.
I know how to read and change parameters from teststand in labview via active-x, but i have no idea how to use this propertyloader-thing.
Is there an easy help file somewhere in the net ( I havent found one yet)?

Meanwhile i can use the propertyloader for Limits and Variables which are in a container of the teststep. What not worked was:
1.) setting the properties of a "Messagebox". For example the property "Button1Label". Why is this not working?
2.) The second thing what is not clear: Do i need for each sequence an own property-loader? I tested it with a sequence with one subsequence. Does the subsequence needs its own property-loader?
Currently the import-csv-file looks like this:

How to change a property of all items of the specific type?

Hello,
this should be fairly simple:
tableA ( id, Flag)
There are 2 pages :
Page 1 : allows user to select P1_ID based on the result set from TableA
Page 2 : there is a bunch of items on this page - text fields, text areas, radio and check boxes, reports etc. There values in those items are based on the following logic :
select <bunch of columns correspond to the page items >
from view1, view2 ...
where <where clause>
and
some_column =:P1_ID
Question:
I need to disallow users to change values in the items of text type on the page 2, if value of P1_ID ( TableA.id) has a value in Flag.
How this can be done ?
The ideal solution would be if i can have a routine that would not require hard coding items names.

The property that you set is the 'Read Only' property for the page-item. This is done from the 'Edit Page Item' page
The conditions under which this property evaluates to true can be determined dynamically (no hard coding). Take a look at the list of possible Conidtion Types. So, if u want the condition to be table-driven you could choose the 'Exists (SQL query returns at least one row)' and the SQL query could be something like
' select 1 from <you_table> where id=:p1_id '

I want to know how to read the complete path in file upload UI in java web dynpro.

Create a button with upload and write this code OnAction
Resource is the attribute name in context of type com.sap.ide.webdynpro.uielementdefinitions.Resource, this attribute is for Resource property for Upload UI Element.
Then in OnAction of button
