How to use the property-loader?

Hello,
i´m using TS 3.5 and LV 8.0. Now i also want to use the built-in property-loader from Teststand.
Is there somewhere a documentation for "beginners" how to use this property-loader? At the end i want to read parameters from an ascii-file which updates my input-parameters of the steps in the current-sequence.
I know how to read and change parameters from teststand in labview via active-x, but i have no idea how to use this propertyloader-thing.
Is there an easy help file somewhere in the net ( I havent found one yet)?
Thanks for your help.

Meanwhile i can use the propertyloader for Limits and Variables which are in a container of the teststep. What not worked was:
1.) setting the properties of a "Messagebox". For example the property "Button1Label". Why is this not working?
2.) The second thing what is not clear: Do i need for each sequence an own property-loader? I tested it with a sequence with one subsequence. Does the subsequence needs its own property-loader?
Currently the import-csv-file looks like this:
Start Marker,,,
<Step Name>,Limits.Low,Limits.High,Cont.Voltage
TestStep_1,1,2,4
TestStep_2,8,16,32
End Marker,,,
When Teststep_1 and Teststep_2 are both in mainsequence then it works. When i copy Teststep_2 in a subsequence then i get an error (-18).
Any ideas about my two questions?
Thanks

  • I don't know how to use the property node to get information out of my sub vi while it is working.

    I had a question answered earlier about passing information out of a sub vi, and was helped out. The problem is that I don't understand what is happening as I can not reproduce the results. I am now trying to take results of a comparison (true-false) and pass that back out of my sub vi. I tried a property node and to connect a refnum control to it in the sub vi. Then I tried to connect an indicator to its terminal in the main vi, but was unsuccessful can someone tell me how and why, step by step, to pass this information out. Starting with the point of information in the sub vi to the indicator in the vi. I would appreciate any help that you could give m

    Step by step:
    1. On your main vi Front Panel, create your boolean indicator.
    2. On the block diagram, right click the new boolean indicator and select Create - Reference.
    3. On sub-vi front panel, create boolean indicator (or use one that is already created).
    4. On sub-vi front panel, create a reference (Controls Palette - Refnum - Control Refnum).
    5. Right click on the newly created Refnum and select Select Vi Server Class - Generic - GObject - Control - Boolean. The refnum label changes to BoolRefnum.
    6. On sub-vi block diagram, create Property Node (Functions - Application Control - Property Node). Find the BoolRefnum and move it close to the new Property Node.
    7. Wire the BoolRefnum to the reference input of the property node.
    8.
    Right click on the property node and select Change to All Write.
    9. Move mouse to point to Visible inside property node box, left click and select Value.
    10. Wire the boolean indicator from step 3 to the Value input of the property node.
    11. On sub-vi front panel, right click on icon and select Show Connector.
    12. Click on empty connector spot then click on the new BoolRefnum. Save your sub-vi.
    13. On main vi block diagram, connect refernece created in step 2 to the new connector terminal of sub-vi.
    14. Save and run.
    Here are the modified vi's.

  • HT201362 hi, please guide me how to use the down load function! I really facing problem when selected software but can't smoothly up load?

    Hi, we're any expert can teach me the best solution or software can easily down whatever good lecture or good movie can easily control and. Down loading. Very much thankful to you

    >> then I get a completely blue screen.
    That probably means that you're not looking at a bug in Photoshop, but a problem with a driver - and the most likely cause would be your video card driver.
    And sure enough, your video card driver is almost 2 years out of date.
    Please go to NVidia's website and get the latest driver - then follow their directions for installation (so you don't get bits of old driver left over).

  • Can I set the "step run mode" -property with the property loader

    Is it possible to set the "step run mode"-property  by using the property loader to "Skip" , "Normal" or "Force PASS" ...in TestStand 3.0 ?

    I turned on Station Options>>Preferences>>Show Hidden Properties and then exported the Step.TS.Mode property to a limits file. I then added a PropertyLoader step and it functioned correctly.
    Note that importing a hidden TS subproperty makes an edit to the sequence file, even if done at runtime. Thus if you later save the file, you might end up inadvertently saving the last imported values. This isn't necessarily a problem if the values in the file are always overwritten by a property loader step.
    (btw, I tested this in 4.0, but I'm hopeful it would also work in 3.0)

  • How to automate the data load process using data load file & task Scheduler

    Hi,
    I am doing Automated Process to load the data in Hyperion Planning application with the help of data_Load.bat file & Task Scheduler.
    I have created Data_Load.bat file but rest of the process i am unable complete.
    So could you help me , how to automate the data load process using Data_load.bat file & task Scheduler or what are the rest of the file is require to achieve this.
    Thanks

    To follow up on your question are you using the maxl scripts for the dataload?
    If so I have seen and issue within the batch (ex: load_data.bat) that if you do not have the full maxl script path with a batch when running it through event task scheduler the task will work but the log and/ or error file will not be created. Meaning the batch claims it ran from the task scheduler although it didn't do what you needed it to.
    If you are using maxl use this as the batch
    "essmsh C:\data\DataLoad.mxl" Or you can also use the full path for the maxl either way works. The only reason I would think that the maxl may then not work is if you do not have the batch updated to call on all the maxl PATH changes or if you need to update your environment variables to correct the essmsh command to work in a command prompt.

  • How to get a Sum of rows, when i use the property max. rows p. page ?

    Hi all.
    I've got a query and get a lot of rows (amounts) back.
    Now i want to have max. 21 rows per page.
    So, first i used the property "max. rows p. page"=21.
    But i want a have Sum-Field p.page too, which shows the sum of the amount p. page at a >fixed place (bottom, left) at the page.
    this didnt work well....
    Because when i have 30 rows, then the sum will shown at the second page (because the sum-field its after the repeating frame).
    ...Now i forgot the property and placed a function and two placeholder in the query like this:
    Function:
    :cp_row:=:cp_row +1;
    if (mod (:cp_row,21)=0)) then :CP_pagenr:=:CP_pagenr+1;
    Placeholders: cp_row, cp_pagenr
    Now i want to use :CP_pagenr to change the group - but Report Builder says: I cant... because placeholder are not allowed to change a group.
    So.. perhaps anyone can give me a hint how i can do this ?
    Thanks a lot...

  • How to use the Observer when a page loads

    Anybody know how to use the
    Spry.Utils.addClassName('DivName','selected') and then fire the
    Spry.Utils.addClassName with onLoad?
    I am loading a page with the selector utils in it into a div
    and then I think I must need an Observer to get the
    Spry.Utils.addClassName to work when this page loads in a div.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Bisser.

    I added Spry.Utils.addClassName('DivName','selected') in the
    Script after the constructor and after the effects and it works
    fine. Thank you for your help to get me going.
    Well after the fact, this solution was a problem because it
    loads the selector each time I loaded the file.
    kinblas had the correct answer that I was looking for.... as
    it loads the selector as a 3rd argument.
    ie:
    Spry.Utils.updateContent('mainDIV','/menu.php', function() {
    Spry.Utils.addClassName('DivName','selected'); });
    Thanks to both of you for your continued support.
    Bisser.

  • Can the Property Loader load arrays of variable size?

    I need to run a series of tests on the same UUT, changing only one parameter at a time (for example, a frequency response test). The hardware developers would like to be able to change the values of parameters of the test at will, without making changes to the sequence. That's easy - just change the value of the parameter in the Properties file. The hard part is changing the number of iterations of the test, by ONLY adding or deleting the number of parameters from the text file. In other words, all I know during sequence editing is the types of parameters, not the values or how many. I want the test to loop as many times as there are sets of parameters in the text file.
    I would like to do this by loading the paramet
    ers as an array. But the Property Loader wants me to specify each variable while I am editing the sequence, including each individual member of the array (e.g. "Locals.Array[0].Value"). I want to do somthing like "Locals.Array[*].Value", where "*" means "all elements".
    Am I forced to write external code to load each parameter, or does TS have a native way to do this? Even better, has anybody done this already, and will you explain how? Thanks

    Hi,
    there's a couple of options here, and I've included what I think is the simplest below (using TestStand 2.0.1).
    It's not exactly elegant though. What I've done is to put in a step that finds out the number of steps to load (based on an earlier decision - in this case a message popup step). I read a number from the limits file, and use this in the looping options of the property loader step that's loading the values into the array. I've done it with a fixed size array target here, big enough to take any incoming data. (Otherwise, knowing how many items you're going to load from the limits file, you could start with an empty array and re-size it prior to loading).
    I've cheated slightly by using the pre-expression on the property loader step to specify where th
    e data is coming from and where it's going to in the sequence on each iteration of the loop based on the Runstate.Loopindex.
    Another option is to go straight into the property loader step, and keep loading properties until the Step.Result.NumPropertiesRead = 0 (remember we're only doing this one at a time)
    Another idea would be to load in a value, and check it isn't a "flag" value (i.e. you'd never use say 999 in your array, so set the last element in your limits file to this, and drop out of the loop when this happens.
    Further still, you've got the source code for the property loader step, so you could re-write it to make a custom step that loads an array until it fails all on its own (no looping in TestStand).
    Hope this gets you going

  • JNI - How to use the error reporting mechanism?

    I've developed a C++ DLL which is loaded from a commercial Win32 application (not written by me) as a plug-in for external calculations. On its initialization the C++ DLL launches the Java VM via the JNI invocation interface. When the DLL functions are called by the application, they forward the calls to Java objects inside the Java VM, again via JNI invocation interface.
    This works well, but I have encountered a weird error.
    From Java I open a JFrame containing a JTextArea as small console for debug output messages. If I turn output to this debug console off (my printToConsole routine checks whether a boolean flag is set), the string concatenation operator may lead to a crash of the Java VM.
    For example, if in one of the Java functions called from the
    DLL via JNI invocation interface the following is the first statement,
    it leads to a crash of the Java VM and the application that loaded the C++ proxy DLL.
    String test=""+Math.random(); // String test not used later
    Interestingly, if I comment this statement out, the Java code works fine WITHOUT any crash. I've already thought about potential races and synchronization issues in my code, but I don't see where this is the case. And the string concatenation error fails as well, if I insert sleep() statements in front of it and at other places in the code. However, if I turn on log messages printed to my JFrame debug console (containing a JTextArea), the String concatenation works without problems.
    So maybe the JNI interface has a bug and affects the Java VM; I don't see where my JNI code is wrong.
    One problem is that I do not get any stdout output, as the C++ proxy DLL is loaded by the Windows application, even if I start the Windows application from the DOS command line (under Windows).
    Does anyone know how to use the error reporting mechanism?
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/vm/error-handling.html
    Is it possible that the JVM, when it crashes, writes debug information about the crash into a file instead of stdout/stderr?
    My C++ proxy DLL was compiled in debug mode, but the commercial application (which loaded the DLL) is very likely not.
    I do not know hot to find the reason why the String concatenation fails inside the Java function called from the C++ DLL via JNI.

    Yes, I've initially thought about errors in the C++ code too. But the C++ code is actually very simple and short. It doesn't allocate anything on the C++ side. It allocates a couple of ByteBuffers inside the Java VM however via JNI invocation interface calls of env->NewDirectByteBuffer(). The native memory regions accessed via the ByteBuffers are allocated not by my own C++ code, but by the program that calls my DLL (the program is Metastock).
    The interesting thing is that everything works fine if output to my debug console is enabled, which means that in the Java print routine getConsoleLoggingState() returns true and text is appended to the jTextArea.
    static synchronized void print(String str)
    { MetaStockMonitor mMon=getInstance();
    if ( mMon.getFileLoggingState() && mMon.logFileWriter!=null) {
    mMon.logFileWriter.print(str);
    mMon.logFileWriter.flush();
    if ( mMon.getConsoleLoggingState() ) {
    mMon.jTextArea1.append(str);
    Only if output to the JTextArea is turned off (ie. getConsoleLoggingState()==false), the crash happens when the FIRST statement in the Java routine called via JNI invocation interface is a (useless) String concatenation operation, as described above.
    String test=""+Math.random(); // String test not used later
    Moreover, the crash happens BEFORE the allocated ByteBuffer objects are accessed in the Java code. But again, if console output is turned on, it works stable. If console output is turned off, it works when the (useless) String concatenation operation is removed in the Java routine called from C++.
    I've already thought about potential races (regarding multiple threads), but this can be ruled out in my case. It almost appears as if the JVM can have problems when called by the invocation interface (I tested it with Java 1.4.2 b28).
    All the calls between C++ and Java go ALWAYS in the direction from C++ code to Java. Unfortunately, there is no special JRE version with extensive logging capabilities to facilitate debugging. And the problem is not easily reproducible either.

  • How to use the Columns Hidden | space in the bottom of af:panelCollection?

    Hi,experts,
    In jdev 11.1.2.3,
    I can see a row of Columns Hidden | Columns Frozen in the bottom of component af:panelCollection - pc1 which have an af:table - t1 component inside in designer view,
    and can see there is a blank row space only with "|" inside when the page is running.
    Now I want to use this blank row space such as to display row numbers for the table, so I set the property for the panelColletion as following source code:
    ==========================
    <af:panelCollection id="pc1" inlineStyle="width:1250px; height:500px;">
    <f:facet name="menus"/>
    <f:facet name="toolbar"/>
    <f:facet name="statusbar">
    <af:group id="g4"/>
    </f:facet>
    <af:table value="#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel}" var="row"
    rows="#{bindings.TView1.rangeSize}"
    emptyText="#{bindings.TView1.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
    fetchSize="#{bindings.TView1.rangeSize}" rowBandingInterval="1"
    filterModel="#{bindings.ImplicitViewCriteriaQuery.queryDescriptor}"
    queryListener="#{bindings.ImplicitViewCriteriaQuery.processQuery}" filterVisible="false"
    varStatus="vs"
    selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.TView1.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
    rowSelection="single" id="t1" inlineStyle="font-size:xx-large; font-weight:bolder;">
    <af:column sortProperty="#{bindings.TView1.hints.GoodsStatus3.name}" filterable="true"
    sortable="true"
    headerText="#{bindings.TView1.hints.GoodsStatus3.label}"
    id="c42">
    <af:outputText value="#{row.GoodsStatus3}" id="ot33"/>
    </af:column>
    <f:facet name="footer">
    <af:group id="g3">
    *<af:outputText value="RowsNumber:" id="ot44"/>*
    *<af:outputText value="#{bindings.TView1Iterator.estimatedRowCount}"*
    id="ot43" partialTriggers="::pc1:t1"/>
    </af:group>
    </f:facet><f:facet name="detailStamp"/>
    </af:table>
    </af:panelCollection>
    =====================
    but when run the page there is no display for the row number, instead on the bottom of the table, there is only a blank row with "|" inside.
    How to use the Columns Hidden | Columns Frozen space in the bottom of component af:panelCollection ?
    Thanks!

    Hi, Arun
    It works.
    As in my use case, can draw an af:toolbar component into statusbar of Panel Collection facets in Structure view.
    There is still a small issue:
    cannot see the Columns Hidden|Columns Frozen component in the Structure view,
    and if drop more than one af:toolbar into statusbar, the sencond one will fall/wrap into second row, even though there is enough space on the first row (to occupy a second row in statusbar will be a waste of space), and cannot see how to adjust.
    Thank you very much!

    Let's say your application module is com.yourcompany.someapp.services.MyService, and let's say you authored a method like the following in the MyServiceImpl.java file:
      public void doSomething(int i, String s) {
      }and you exposed this AM custom method using the AM editor.
    BC4J design time will automatically create you the com.yourcompany.someapp.services.common.MyService interface that will look like this if you go look at the source code:
    package com.yourcompany.someapp.services.common;
    import oracle.jbo.ApplicationModule;
    public interface MyService extends ApplicationModule {
      public void doSomething(int i, String s);
    }To use your custom method from a client, just cast your ApplicationModule to your custom interface like this:
    import com.yourcompany.someapp.services.common.MyService;
      MyService mySvc = (MyService)yourAM;
      mySvc.doSomething(1,"foo");

  • How to use the implementation class in propetty pallete

    Hi,
    I am using forms 10g....I have to insert horizontal scroll bar in text item..
    I have only class files instead of jar files ...how cani place the class file instead of jar file...
    How to use the implementation class in property palette to display the PJC
    Thanks,

    The Implementation Class must reflect the full name of the class. For instance, if the full class name is : xx.yyy.zz.class_name, then put this in the Implementation Class property of the corresponding item.
    Also, the class must be stored in the equivalent directory structure, so that, in my example: <DEV_HOME>/forms/java/xx/yyy/zz
