i have an xml document and i want to create a procedure to read the data from it .
is it possible or not? thanks in advance

Where is the xml document located?
load it into an XMLTYPE and apply xpath as required.

Reading from XML file using DOM parser.

Hi,
I have written the following java code to read the XML file and print the values. It reads the XML file. It gets the node NAME and prints it. But it returns null when trying to get the node VALUE. I am unable to figure out why.
Can anyone please help me with this.

because what you want is not the node value of CODE but the node value of the text nodes into it!
assuming only one text node into it, try this:

Are you opening the input stream or querying the reply headers after writing to the output stream? It's doing one or the other that actually triggers the send.

You need a word processing program such as Microsoft Office for Mac, OpenOffice(free), LibreOffice(free), or Pages. Unless this is an excel file or other file type. Then you would need to find something else like Numbers or Excel for Mac.

Extracting attributes from XML document using plsql

I have successfully written a plsql procedure that has been
using Xpath to extract the element values from an XML doument:
i.e.
l_xpath := '/Form_Data/Person_Details/Initials';
l_DomNodeList := xslprocessor.SelectNodes(l_RootNode, l_xpath);
l_DomNode := xmldom.item(l_DomNodeList,0); -- first Element
l_DomNode := xmldom.getfirstchild(l_DomNode);
l_id_number := xmldom.getNodeValue(l_DomNode);
However the data (Initials) I wish to extract is now stored as
attributes within the Person_Details element and I was wondering
how I would go about explicitly extracting the attributes values!
I have not been able to find any examples, although I have been
pointed in the direction of xmldom.getattribute without any
success!

I have Labview 8.5. I have an xml file (Database) that contains data from sensors. The data doesnt conform to the LabView's xml schema we have our own schema for the data. is there a way to extract the digitized waveform data from this xml file by using our own xsd file?

How to read from pdf file using VB

I have a PDF file which contains three columns, emp no, designation, contact_info. I have 10 rows in that pdf file. I want to read row by row from the pdf file and write into another text file(tab delimited) using VB.

Without reading it in detail, this seems to be automating a save as text function in Acrobat. This will not give you any position information.
If you want position information without writing a plug-in, you need to use the getPageNthWord and getPageNthWordQuads methods in JavaScript.
If you have not already done so, you will need to download the Acrobat SDK which has the documentation you need.
Writing in C# makes even very simple things complicated; if you have a choice, consider VB.

I have a JSP that receives an XML document from a JavaBean, so I can access it within the entire JSP, but I need to access it from the javascript inside the JSP... and I have no idea how i can do this.

The solution would only work on MS IE browsers, as other browsers do not support an XML DOM.
It can be done, but you would be stuck with using the Microsoft broswer. If that is acceptable, I have some example code, and a book recommendation.

Have you considered using JDOM? ( www.jdom.org )
The XMLOutputter class can write the Document to a file. ( The Document however will be an org.jdom.Document object ).
If you are weary of a new API, you could just create a new File object called abc.xml and stream the data from the XML Document you have to this new File object.

To make data load more simple to end user instead placing file on the server and use SQL-LOADER, I came up with new idea that using oracle ebusiness suite attachment functionality. that loads a XML file from local PC to a database column(table is fnd_attachments, default data type is BLOB over here).
I tried with DBMS_LOB and didnt get around.
Please can anyone tell me how to read the BLOB column using PL/SQL and store the data in a oracle table. Here's the sample XML file and table structure FYI.
