How to read the java analytical workspace object, when it is being rebuild?

Hi is there any way to save the OLAP into java object, so that it can be read even though it is being rebuild?
so when I rebuild the AW(analytical workspace), the other user still can read the old AW object while waiting the new AW object is build
I even try to create 2 AW, while I create 1 AW I try to read another AW in the same database schema
but then the reading process for the second AW is hang until the creation of the first AW is finish
is there any way so that the process can happen simultaneously without waiting the building process is finished?

A second user should be able to access an AW even while it is being built as long as the two users have different sessions - instances of OracleConnection in jdbc terms. It is not enough to use two Java Threads sharing the same connection.

  • How to read the Java source code (in Netbeans)

    I use OS X10.5.5, NetBeans 6.1 and JSE 6 on a 64 bit mac.
    When I downloaded NB6.1 it had JSE 5 as it's default (and only) java platform. I ran Software Update to get Java 6 from Apple, used the Java Prefrences utitlity to set JSE6 as default. In NB I added the JDK6 platform, registered the JDK6 javadocs and noticed that I also have the option of registering the Java source code.
    I have three questions:
    1) How do I make JDK6 the default in NetBeans. The JDK5 keeps being default after I did the steps above and I don't see anywhere to change that.
    2) How do I read the Java 6 source code? I can see sun provides [source code| http://download.java.net/jdk6/] for their supported platforms. I dont see Apple doing the same for its JDK port. What would I need to do to get to read the java SE6 sources? or is it actually hiding somewhere in the /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home hierarchy?
    3) Where does the JVM look for the binary code to run when I make a call to, say java.util.ArrayList or any other library. In my naivety I would have assumed it would be a .class file somewhere in the java Home folder, but I don't see anything like it.
    thanks in advance,
    chris

    This is taken from the help included with netbeans. In response to question 1.
    By default, the IDE uses the version of the Java SE platform (JDK) with which the IDE runs as the default Java platform
    for compilation, execution, and debugging. You can view your IDE's JDK version by choosing Help > About and clicking the
    Detail tab. The JDK version is listed in the Java field.
    You can run the IDE with a different JDK version by starting the IDE with the --jdkhome jdk-home-dir switch on the command line
    or in your IDE-HOME/etc/netbeans.conf file. For more information, see IDE Startup Parameters.
    In the IDE, you can register multiple Java platforms and attach Javadoc and source code to each platform. For example, if you
    want to work with the new features introduced in JDK 5.0, you would either run the IDE on JDK 5.0 or register JDK 5.0 as a
    platform and attach the source code and Javadoc to the platform.
    In  , you can switch the target JDK in the Project Properties dialog box. In  , you have to set the target JDK in the Ant script itself,
    then specify the source/binary format in the Project Properties dialog box.
    To register a new Java platform:
    Choose Tools > Java Platforms from the main window.
    Click New Platform and select the directory that contains the Java platform. Java platform directories are marked with a
    in the file chooser.
    Use the Sources and Javadoc tabs to attach Javadoc documentation and source code for debugging to the platform.
    Click Close.
    To set the default Java platform for a standard project:
    Right-click the project's root node in the Projects window and choose Properties.
    In the Project Properties dialog box, select the Libraries node in the left pane.
    Choose the desired Java platform in the Java Platform combo box.
    Switching the target JDK for a standard project does the following:
    Offers the new target JDK's classes for code completion.
    If available, displays the target JDK's source code and Javadoc documentation.
    Uses the target JDK's executables (javac and java) to compile and execute your application.
    Compiles your source code against the target JDK's libraries.
    If you want to register additional Java platforms with the IDE, you can do so by clicking the Manage Platforms button.
    Then click the Add Platform button and navigate to the desired platform.
    To set the target Java platform for a free-form project:
    In your Ant script, set the target JDK as desired in the javac, java, and javadoc tasks.
    Right-click the project's root node in the Projects window and choose Properties.
    In the Sources panel, set the level of JDK you want your application to be run on in the Source/Binary Format combo box.
    When you access Javadoc or source code for JDK classes, the IDE searches the Java platforms registered in the
    Java Platform Manager for a platform with a matching version number. If no matching platform is found, the IDE's default platform is used instead.

    A method returns a collection of objects.
    I used Iterator to read an Object from Collection.
    Then I used Object.toString() to read the object.Well, actually, toString() returns a String representation of that instance. Calling it "reading" it is a little misleading, at best.
    The output I get is something like this:
    com.regis.resp.RegistryError@1683e80[message=Parameter
    value policy error,code=1309,lang=en-US]Exactly.
    Now I have to do some business logic based on the
    error code 1309.
    How do I parse this Object to read the error code?Did you hear about a String method called indexOf? You could use it with an argument like "code=".
    Anyway: this is completely wrong. Why not cast the object reference to whatever it is and access the code directly?
    Any help is greatly appreciated ! A lot of help would come in form of an OOD book.

  • How to retain the java applet generated code when back button is pressed!!

    I've a jsp page in which i've wirtten the code which specifies the word which i write in the text box, then through the applet i'm showing the word which is written in the text box. It means my applet is running and it show the words which i've written in the text box. Now when i click on submit it goes to the next page and when i click on browser's back button then except the applet generated code everyone retains its values. Is there any way to find it out when it encounter the back button click then applet should be restarted. so in this way without writing the whole application form and in the applet generated code i can submit it again.
    My question is how do i reatin the applet generated code when a click button is being pressed (b'coz for the textbox, textareas everything retains it)
    any suggestions or guidance are most welcome.
    thanks in advance....

    you don't need to navigate explicitly. Just clear the back stack till your specific page and say goback. below is the  code you can use.
     protected override void OnBackKeyPress(System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs e)
                        e.cancel=true;
                    RemoveBackStackTillSpecificPage("page2.xaml");

    PhoneApplicationFrame frame = Application.Current.RootVisual as PhoneApplicationFrame;
    var previousPage = frame.BackStack.FirstOrDefault();
    if (previousPage != null && previousPage.Source != null)
                    while (!previousPage.Source.ToString().Contains(pageName))
                        frame.RemoveBackEntry();
                        previousPage = frame.BackStack.FirstOrDefault();
            public static void GoBack()
                PhoneApplicationFrame frame = Application.Current.RootVisual as PhoneApplicationFrame;

  • How to read the API

    I am trying to understand how to read the Java API. I have bought Oracle's Books "Java The Complete Reference" and "Java A Beginners Guide" but am still unsure how to read the API.
    Let me clarify what I'm asking to avoid confusion.
    The class java.util.ProcessBuilder http://download.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/
    Has a Constructor section that lists
    Constructor and Description
    ProcessBuilder(List<String> command)
    Constructs a process builder with the specified operating system program and arguments.
    ProcessBuilder(String... command)
    Constructs a process builder with the specified operating system program and arguments.
    How do I read the ProcessBuilder(List<String> command) so that I can understand it and implement its use?
    Later when it talks about methods such as List<String>      command()
    Returns this process builder's operating system program and arguments.
    How do I understand this and make use of the method?
    Is it possible for this to be explained to cover the whole API so that when a class is looked up the constructor and methods are explained that someone who does not understand can take any class and have the constructor and methods from the API and know how to implement them?
    Thank you

My question was general enough to not violate the instructors rule, but specific enough to learn what I felt I was missing.I hope you don't think I was suggesting you're doing anything wrong - far from it - I was simply saying that ProcessBuilder isn't the first class I would choose if I was trying to get familiar with the Java API pages.
    As with a lot of questions like this, Google is your friend. A Google of "using ProcessBuilder" gave me a pile of useful pages on how to use the class (which the API docs aren't always wonderful at doing), including some common 'gotchas' - although many of these are related to <tt>Runtime.exec()</tt>, which Process/ProcessBuilder was created to improve.
    One of those pages was for [url http://commons.apache.org/exec/index.html]Apache Commons Exec, which you might also want to look at (although it does require a download, and that might violate the rules of your exercise too). I've never used it myself though, so I can't comment on how good it is.
    Alternatively, it might be worth talking to your instructor and explaining your problem. Most of us are reasonable chaps, and s/he might be able to provide you with some good tips.
    Remember: plagiarism is the programmer's stock-in-trade. There's nothing wrong with using something written by someone else as long as you attribute it - that is, after all, what classes are all about :-).

    Hi,
    I would recommend you to have a look at the VI attached. It makes use of a VI named 'Read from Spreadsheet' to read the row and column data from the tab delimited excel file. The read data is then searched for the Alphabet specified and finally returns you the corresponding string. The test file used to validate the operation of the VI is also attached.
    Trust this would help you solve the issue.

  • How to retrieve the java object in a proxy service in osb -- Plz help

    Hi all,
    I have a singleton java class which runs whenever the weblogic server gets started and store the output in its object. I need to access this java object from a proxy service in osb.
    We tried using java call out and retrieved that object but we couldn't know how to parse that object into XML.
    We are not sure of using the java call out in osb to solve this purpose because whenever we use a java callout, that particular java code will run which is not the case of singleton class.
    So kindly help us how to retrieve the java object which holds the output without running the java code every time because its already run and holding the output in its object.
    Regards
    Prabhu

    here the doc http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/context.html#wp1106656
    but I guess you are already at the stage of getting a POJO in a first Java Callout and passing the POJO to a second Java Callout, which should then return it to OSB as a XMLObject.
    My recommendation is to write a Java function which returns a XMLObject and uses a XMLCursor to populate it with the values of the POJO.
    An XMLObject returned to the OSB is automatically transformed in a "XML" variable (which in reality is represented as a XMLObject in the Pipeline context)
    Here some code sample:

    We are using the Oracle OLAP Java api's to query the analytical workspace. We create a Source object that contains the joins we want. This source is prepared and committed via the TransactionProvider class. Via the DataProvider we then create an SQLCursorManager and generate the SQL and execute it via JDBC.

    Hi Keith,
    Yesterday I actually fully rebuilt/redeployed the AW. (I only patched our 10.2.0.3 installation with the OLAP A patch very recently.) Even the AW's tablespace was recreated, just to make sure everything was gone. Redeployment of the OLAP objects from OWB control center went without any problems.
    Let me answer your questions one by one below.
    1) How did you build the AW?
    We use OWB. The only thing I used AWM for is to actually create the AW. Once created, I use OWB to design and deploy. The front-end developers use AWM sometimes for viewing data in the OLAP objects. (I use OWB or AWM for that.)
    2) Can you connect to the AW via AWM, if so can you use the Data Viewer option to view:
    a) each dimension and check you can drill up and down.
    b) each cube
    I have been playing around a bit with the dim's and cubes in the AWM by right-clicking and selecting view data ... (that's the data viewer option?) and encountered no problems.
    3) You are using the OLAP API directly, what sort of application are you building - Java Client, JSP, Applet and are you using BI Beans?
    We are building a JSP type application, but so far only servlet code is being executed as the failure occurs on issuing the query. We are not using BI BEans.
    Thanks for your feedback!
    grts,
    Ed
