  • How to read an XML from a servlet?

    Hi,
    I'm just starting programming and now I have a problem I can't solve. I hope someone can help me.</p>
    On the client side I have a xml report and a script wich sends to the server the information I've got from the report. In this case, the 'Poliza' value.
    On the server-side I have a servlet. I try to get the parameters (from the URL or from the XML), but I don't have any response on the client side. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I can't find the solution for solving it.
    I suppose there are two ways of solving the problem.
    - Make an http connetion and send just the parametes on the URL? Does anyone know how to make it?
    - Reading the XML on the servlet and extract the parameters the script sent. Does anyone know how to read it?
    Thank you in advance
    I attach part of the code.

  • How to read duplicate XML tag?

    Hi to all gurus,
    Currently I am working on XSLT transformation. I encountered a problem when I have to read a random number of xml tag with the same names.
    sample:

    <product_code>12345</product_code>
    <product_code>12333</product_code>
    <product_code>12233</product_code>

  • How to read a xml file in ActionScript

    In mxml we can find <mx:Model> to load a xml and using
    it easily. But in ActionScript, there is no such a Class about this
    function(only implemented in mxml), so how to load a xml file in a
    easy way in ActionScript?
    And I tried using HTTPService, but I think that is not the
    best solution because the code do not know when the hander get the
    data in xml then the function return that value.
    So please someone give a easy way as <mx:model> in mxml
    to read the xml file?
    Thank you very much.

    Flex is asynchronous so HTTPService with result event handler
    is the way to go.

    Try this code,
    Nodelist nList = doc.getElementByTagName("Token ") ;

    To read the values of "SerialNumber" and "SmartChipSN", you can use getAttribute method.
    String serailNo = node.getAttribute("SerialNumber");
    String chipSN = node.getAttribute("SmartChipSN");

  • WebDynpro 4 Java & Persistence options : Any Idea how 2 read an XML?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if there is an easy way to store modified (or new) values in a WebDynpro application.
    e.g. A User adds a new row to an existing Table UI in Web Dynpro application with create button. I want to save this row either in an XML file, in a table connecting to database or in an ABAP table via RFC connection. Which option is a light (on resources?) and easy to implement. I think it's reading and writing to an XML file. What are the other options, if any?
    I've been trying to read an xml file (stored under src/mimes/Components/<com.sap.myComp>/test.xml as below:
    //controller code
    private static final String FILE_NAME = "test.xml";
    private static final WDWebResourceType FILE_EXT = WDWebResourceType.XML;
    IWDResource resource = WDWebResource.getWebResource(wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart(), EditView.FILE_EXT, EditView.FILE_NAME);
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setFile(resource);
    //end controller code
    //view Init() code
    IWDResource resource = wdContext.currentContextElement().getFile();
    File file = new File(resource.getResourceName().toString());
    /* I've also tried below
            FileInputStream fis = null;
         fis = new FileInputStream(file);
            url = file.getAbsolutePath();
            //url is null when printed?
    DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document doc = db.parse(file);
    doc.getDocumentElement().normalize();
    content = doc.getDocumentElement().getNodeName().toString();
    //end view Init() code
    When I print the value of content, I get it's initial value which is null. What is wrong?? any ideas?
    How to get the correct path to the stored xml and how to display its contents? I've read enough posts on SDN but couldn't get it working.
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards,
    N.

    hi,
    U r retriving the elements by tag name.So it just chks the tag name ie.<book> & gives u array of elements.But u need retrive d attribute of <book> tag itself.
    =Solution =====
    Add one more statement ----> var[]= doc.getElementsByName("book");
    Now u hav book elements as an array & can retrive id in for loop
    for(var; var.length;var++)
    doc.element[var].id.value

  • How To read an XML file with JDom

    I have read through some tutorials after installing JDom on how to read an existing XML file and I was confused by all of them. I simply want to open an XML file and read one of the node's content. Such as <username>john doe</username> this way I can compare values with what the user has entered as their username. I am not sure were to start and I was hoping someone could help me out.
    I know that this seems like an insecure way to store login information but after I master opening and writing XML files with JDom I am going to use AES to encrypt the XML files.

    Here is a test program for JDom and XPath use considering your XML file is named "test.xml" :import org.jdom.input.*;
    import org.jdom.xpath.*;
    public class JDomXPath {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
      SAXBuilder saxBuilder = new SAXBuilder("org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser");
      try {
       org.jdom.Document jdomDocument = saxBuilder.build("test.xml");
       org.jdom.Element usernameNode = (org.jdom.Element)XPath.selectSingleNode(jdomDocument, "//username");
       System.out.print(usernameNode.getText());
      } catch (Exception e) {
       e.printStackTrace();
    }(tested with Eclipse)

    Find where you servlet engine puts the translation units for the JSP. A translation unit is when the servlet engine converts the JSP into servlet code and creates a java source file. In tomcat it is under the work directory.
    Locate the solution_form_jsp.java which is the servlet code for your solution_form.jsp. Then locate lines 795 and 678. These are the lines thowing the errors. With some effort you can determine how these lines match up with what is in the JSP and figure out what JSP lines are the problem.

  • How to read a XML file from BLOB column and insert in a table - PL/SQL Only

    Hi,
    To make data load more simple to end user instead placing file on the server and use SQL-LOADER, I came up with new idea that using oracle ebusiness suite attachment functionality. that loads a XML file from local PC to a database column(table is fnd_attachments, default data type is BLOB over here).
    I tried with DBMS_LOB and didnt get around.
    Please can anyone tell me how to read the BLOB column using PL/SQL and store the data in a oracle table. Here's the sample XML file and table structure FYI.

  • How to read an XML file from embedded PAR file?

    I have an XML file that has been included in the PAR file as a means of storage (instead of hosting it to a web server).  Is there a way to read this file from within a java iView?  I have tried various methods without much luck.  (I can't seem to locate the file in the portal repository like I could with htmlb's Image class.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

    Hi,

  • How to read an xml file on the server?

    Hi all,
    we need to read an XML file which will be on the appplication server (visible using the transaction AL11).
    We will use the transaction CG3Z in order to upload the file to the server.
    When we try to open it using the instruction OPEN DATASET we have a dump. Which way must we use to open an xml file in this case?
    Thanks for your help.
    David

    Hi
    With open dataset you can open any file on the application server. So it should be working, but maybe you are looking for:
    CALL TRANSFORMATION my_transformation
           SOURCE  XML xml_string
           RESULT  ROOT1 = field1
                   ROOT2 = field2.

    ie, with the whole document as a String, but I need to do it as the frist way.
