How to realize the "save as" dialogue box?

I want to realize this function in my jsp page:
when I click a button, the system can prompt a new dialogue box which is the same as
the "save as" dialogue box in windows 2000.
How to realize it? Can I use JavaScript?

You are asking about something that happens at the browser, so the question is identical to the one that asks how you can do it in HTML. But what do you expect to save with this dialogue box?

  • Can we customize the Save As dialogue box in Acrobat DC?

I was wondering if there is already a way we can customize the new DC Save As dialogue box.
I would love to be able to open directly to "Choose a Different Folder" without going through this extra dialogue box (I understand the appeal of it, but it's not optimal for my workflow). Or perhaps, if I could customize the options under "Storage" (e.g. adding our own database folders "Posters", "Documents", etc, or maybe just pulling the "Favorites" folders from Windows explorer)
I get the decision to have document cloud and creative cloud as default options. That's great for sharing and collaborating on documents, but I'm just managing too many documents and too large of a database. In my situation it's just, well, sub-optimal.
I'm on Windows 7 running Adobe CC Group.

OMG, I've been having this same exact thought since the first time I went to do a Save As ever since upgrading to Acrobat DC.
    (Mac OS X Yosemite here.)
I find it so ridiculous to have to go through this extra step with every single "Save As."
    Example:
    1. Open our job ticket template PDF (for billing a project), which is in a "Company Templates" folder on my computer.
    2. Fill in the details/time for that project.
    3. Select "Save As" to save the job ticket to my project folder (different location).
    4. Have to click "Save to a different folder" every single time.
"Save As" is nearly always going to be for saving a new version of a file to a different location, so I don't understand why there is now this extra step. It's just unnecessary IMO.
So, to quote Will Riker: "Yes. Absolutely. I do indeed concur... wholeheartedly!"

  • Browser can't find a text file opened via the save as dialogue box

    Hi there,
I have a servlet which outputs a file using the servlet output stream, with the following lines set:
    response.setContentType("application/msword");
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachement; filename="+ fileName);
    servletOutStream.write(myBytes);
    servletOutStream.flush();
It works fine for .doc files and it seems the mechanism is that it is saved to the Temporary Internet Folder and delivered from there when the user clicks on the 'open' or 'save' option in the browser popup dialogue box. However... when I try this with text files, (setting the content type to "text/plain") I get the open/save dialogue box up correctly but if I try to open the file it says it cannot find the file, and gives the path under the Temporary Interenet Folder. If I look in there the text file isn't present - though the .doc files are.
So... it looks as if the problem is that for some reason it doesn't save the text files correctly to the Temporary Internet Folder.
I can't deliver the text files inline as a solution as the filename is lost and it thinks it's an html file (which the client doesn't want).
    Any ideas?
    Alison

At least also set the content length. Your browser may be configured be the default application to open textfiles. If the contentlength is not set, then most applications would refuse to open the file without choosing for 'Save' first and manually open it.

  • How to customize the Save as dialog Box for saving Web Query???

    Hello,
we are usnging SAP NW Portal and BI 7.0 (SP14).
We have published BI web queries in the Portal and it works just fine, now when the User select the Button "Save As" in the Context Menu of any web query, this will open a new Dialog Box name "Save As Dialog Box", so from this dialog box the user can select where to save the query, he/she have 3 options* to save qureies: My Favorites, Bex Portfolio and MyPortfolio, this also works fine.
My Quetsion is: How can i customize the View of this "Save As" dialog box, so at the end the User can only select 2 Options:  My Favorites + MyPortfolio. So how to hide the Tab:  Bex Portfolio in the Dialog Box.
    Points for any good answer.
    Many Thanks and Regards,

In what you have posted, there is no reason it shouldn't work the same way in Acrobat 9. I would recommend that you submit your complete application to developer support.

  • How I change the save image dialog box view from oldest to newest first as the default?

My save image dialog box has the oldest file in the folder in the upper left position (using list). I want to change it to the newest file shown first. It used to be that way, but now it showing oldest first. I haven't found any guidance on defaults for this box. Thanks.

Leave it to Apple.  When I first got the phone, that's the way they were configured.  Now that they've flipped around, there's now way to change it!

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • How come the "save as" dialog box keeps popping up whenever I try to use alt codes?

I type with diacritical marks regularly but recently, when I press and hold Fn + Alt + the numerical code, it brings up the "save as" dialog box. This seems to be a Firefox-specific issue because this doesn't happen on Microsoft Word + other programs. I am wondering how to disable this "save as" dialog box shortcut, or how to just get the alt codes to work.

Hm, this is the list of add-ons that are currently enabled on my browser:
    <br><br>
Dictionnaire française moderne (it can't be this one because I just installed it today)<br>
    Java Console 6.0.18<br>
    Java Console 6.0.25<br>
    Java Console 6.0.20<br>
    Java Console 6.0.24<br>
pdfit (doesn't seem like it's this one either)<br><br>
Conclusion: might it be one of the Java Consoles?
    Thanks!

  • Save As dialogue box and picking a folder to save the file in

"If you have the destination folder open in the Finder, you don't have to navigate to it again in the Open or Save dialogs. Instead, you can just drag a file from the target folder in the Finder onto the Open or Save dialog box; doing so will instantly open that folder in the dialog."
This was the old way... now it's gone... alongside skip while copying folder contents, regular expose for all open windows (not stupid mission control which put's all the windows from the same app in a group and I can't see the windows except the front one),....

  • Finder changes the file name in Save/Save As dialogue box

Whenever I save or save as a file, the dialogue box opens, but when I make the file list active when using a mouse, the file name I click to changes the file name I am saving. I simply want to activate the file list window so I can find the right folder. For example if I am looking for a folder called "Receipts" I want to be able to click on the file list window to activate it and then type the first 2 letters of the folder-- "re" and then save the file in that folder. The finder keeps changing the name of the current file whenever I click on one of the "greyed-out" file names? This doesn't make sense unless of course I want to replace that file.
Is there a shortcut that makes the file list window in the dialogue box active while in the SAVE/SAVE AS dialogue box??

Yes, this example of horrible UI design has been a problem since "Panther". It illustrates what happens when you try to copy UI behaviour from another OS, do it poorly, and end up with a mess. In 10.3 and 10.4, the combination of the renaming behaviour with the default "replace" selection in the resulting save can result in data loss.
Compared to the old Mac OS where a tab would flip the focus between the text field for the file name and the file browser, the current behaviour either doesn't allow enough keyboard access to controls, or with "full access" enabled, too many to cycle through easily. The inability to switch focus to the file browser using the mouse (depending on the view) is a horrible productivity loss. Having to recheck the filename before saving is a horrible productivity loss. Since there is no "undo" for the renaming in most files, having to retype the name is again, a horrible productivity loss.
If they had done it right (a simple change, like requiring a modifier to rename), users would probably welcome the "rename" feature as a useful addition. Instead, it has the feel of something a junior Windows-trained programmer slipped in past their supervisor.
In short, I am not aware of any workaround or hack to avoid this "renaming" behaviour. I doubt it will do any good since people have been doing so since "Panther", but you could try submitting feedback:

  • On a MBP with Mavericks how do I get the Save As dialog box to open at the same size and place at which it was last closed and used to happen before Mavericks?

Before I upgraded my MBP to Mavericks, the Save As dialog box would reopen at the same size and position as it was when last closed.  Now with Mavericks it always opens in the same position at a very small size.  Is there a way to make it reopen at the last place and size at which it was closed?

I have resolved the issues presented without having to find and uninstall the Macromedia Flash Player 8.0 in order to get "Adobe Flash Player 10" playback of .swf files on my computer. When I begin this task, I expected to download an "Adobe Flash Player 10" as a player program download instead of the Internet Explorer and Firefox plugin that it appears to be.
This is what I did and what I believe I have:
    1. I setup Internet Explorer 6 as my default browser and then used the following site to download Adobe Flash Player 10
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
    2. As I had done before (and also suggested in another thread here), I went to Tools/Manage Add Ons and found Shockwave Flash Object, highlighted it, and clicked on Update Active X. Next, what I did not do before, I restarted the computer immediately after that.
    3. Next, I set Mozilla Firefox as my default browser and then used the above site to download Adobe Flash Player 10 again.
    4. With Firefox, the critical step included Firefox Tools/Options/Content with File Types (Configure how Firefox handles certain types of files) and the Manage Tab there. SWF Shockware Flash Object/Change Action/and dotting "use this plugin" - Shockwave Flash, followed by a computer restart got the job done.
Now, if I want playback of a .swf file, I can
    a. Open With Internet Explorer (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
    b. Open With Mozilla Firefox (assumed with the Adobe Flash 10 "plugin")
    c. Open With Macromedia Flash Player 8.0
I am satisfied with those results for my use. Any additional comments on the player vs plugin aspect of the matter would be interesting and helpful.

HOW CAN I START DOWNLOADS AUTOMATICALLY? I DON'T NEED TOO SEE THE SAVE OR DISCARD BOX. THIS BUGS THE CRAP OUT OF ME. CAN I CHANGE THIS, OR ARE WE FORCED TO DO WHAT YOU THINK IS BEST? THANKS, KEITH D.

    Hey, Jeff...
I don't know how I could have made my question any more clear -- so let me try approaching it the other way around, and refer back to your answer(s).
You've been responding by saying that it's okay for me to remove the Creative Cloud versions of my software, but I don't have any Creative Cloud versions installed! I'm not talking about that at all, I'm talking about the software for Creative Cloud itself -- I don't use it, I don't need it, I don't want it, and all it does is nag me, telling me that there's updates for it (Creative Cloud). I have the full Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard bought and paid for, I have no reason nor need to "rent" any later versions, I'm just talking about the Creative Cloud software itself that got installed on my system when I installed that suite of programs.
Like I said, I don't use Creative Cloud at all -- all it does is "nag" me, and eat up space on my hard drive. When I go in my Windows Control Panel and look at my list of installed programs, there it is -- "Adobe Creative Suite" -- and it's listed separately from "Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard" (of which I've only installed Photoshop, Acrobat and InDesign, basically, as those are the only programs I use at all at the moment). Can I just uninstall "Adobe Creative Suite" without it affecting "Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard", i.e. my Photoshop, etc. will still work just fine, and I can still get updates and stuff? And by "updates" I don't mean get later versions of Photoshop, etc., I just mean any possible updates to the software that I do already have (that comes with Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard).
I hope that makes my question a little more clear?

  • I dont know how to bring up the printer settings dialogue box

i dont know how to bring up the printer settings dialogue box with my macbook pro in order to adjust the lightness/darkness of my prints. my friend has the same model printer as me and can adjust the lightness of his prints using a pc but the same dialogue box doesnt appear with my mac.the printer is epson office b1100

You can do this from the print dialog box.  For instance, in Safari (which I guess you're looking at now) drop down the 'File' menu and select 'Print'.  This brings up the print dialog box.  Underneath the basic settings you'll see another menu, it currently says 'Safari', but if you drop that down you get all the options for adjusting colour, paper handling, etc...
