How to receive RFC calls exceptions

Hi,
My english is bad, sorry.
I have a RFC call to access data from a NIF. In the function that performs the 'select' I have created an exception if the NIF does not exist, is called 'NO_DATA'. How I recibe this exception in Web Dynpro?
Thanks,
Regards,
Rubén Gutiérrez.

Hi,
In your remote enabled function module, under Tables tab you can
add a table type attribute which can hold the return messages.
ET_Return like bapiret2
In webdynpro loop through the RFM return message node and print the messages.
Sample Code:
for(int i=0;i<wdcontext.nodereturn.size();i++)
  String message = wdcontext.nodereturnElement.getAttributeValue("Message");
  if ("S".equals(wdcontext.nodereturnElement.getAttributeValue("S")))
   msgManager.reportSuccess(message);
  else if("E".equals(wdcontext.nodereturnElement.getAttributeValue("E")))
   msgManager.reportException(message,false);
   errorRaised = false;
  else if("W".equals(wdcontext.nodereturnElement.getAttributeValue("W")))
   msgManager.reportWarning(message);

  • How to Handle RFC delivery exception (rfcClientException) in XI?

    I have a following scenario.
    I have an outbound soap interface (sender) and inbound RFC(receiver). When the soap message is posted it goes to receiver where it has to execute the RFC. It tries to convert the XML to RFC and throws the following exception.
    com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: could not convert request from XML to RFC:com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$ConversionException: (122) JCO_ERROR_CONVERSION: Date 'xxxx-xx-xx' has a wrong format at field CREAT_DATE: Unparseable date: "xxxx-xx-xx
    I defined the fault message and attached it to the Inbound Interface. I also defined the mapping of receiver exception message to fault message. I am expecting a fault message back to sender which is not happening.
    When I go to moni and try to look for the error in the response message I see the following.
    <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">

    I am suspecting that since the fault message does not contain this structure it's not able to build it.
    How do I handle such runtime exception and transfer it to sender system. Any help would be greatly apperciated.

  • How to receive dialup calls?

    Hello! I am a total newbie, so please, do not laugh to my questions; I have a cable (non-voice)modem and WRT54GC router. I would like to receive calls from my clients through a dialup connection, but my router does not support rtp/udp port forwarding; As far as I know, I have to buy an FXO adapter or SPA3210 router? Can anybody help? Have a nice day! Boštjan

    It's easier if you just get a simple VoIP ATA such as PAP2 or SPA2102, rather than mess with PBX running on your computer. You DO NOT need to forward any ports in the router because the ATA can send NAT-keep-alive packets. PBX software can do that too, so you can do the same thing with PBX software if you don't want an ATA.
    In addition to the ATA you will need a VoIP service provider (VSP) such as Gizmo5. Get a VSP with a proxy near you. Then you need instructions about configuring the ATA, such as these:
    http://forum.gizmo5.com/viewtopic.php?t=8516
    After that you need to get an inbound phone number, either free, or buy one.
    In what country do you want the inbound phone number?
    What country will you be calling to most often?

  • How to handle RFC exception in XI

    We have developed a proxy-> RFC scenario. But its not able to handle the RFC exception. In case of an exception the response payload is as below
    <rfc:Y_BAPI_GET_POSTING_PERIOD.Exception xmlns:rfc="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions"><Name>RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE</Name><Text>Screen output without connection to user.</Text><Message><ID>RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE</ID><Number>044</Number></Message><Attributes><V1>DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND</V1></Attributes></rfc:Y_BAPI_GET_POSTING_PERIOD.Exception>
    Is it correct way to get exception from RFC in such a way or the error/exception text should come in RETURN part of the RFC response?
    What is the best approach or solution to handle the sync. RFC call exception in XI?

    Hi,
    You can create a Fault Message Type and map the RFC exception text to this.
    In the interface mapping in addition to Request and response
    mapping you will get an additional fault message mapping.
    This will handle your exception properly.

  • How to create RFC function module and how to call this function module

    Hi,
    i want to know step for creating RFC function module and then How to  use this function module from some other sap system.
    Thnaks,
    jigar

    Jigar,
    To implement a remote function module in ABAP, perform the following steps:
    Register the module as remotely callable in the RFC server system.
    In the function module Administration screen (transaction code SE37), set the field Can be called via REMOTE CALL. Registering a module as remote causes an RFC stub to be generated for it.
    Write the code for the function module.
    Create the destinations.....................
    Displaying, Maintaining and Testing Destinations
    To display, create or modify destinations, choose Tools ® Administration ® Administration ® Network ® RFC destinations or enter transaction code SM59.
    Remote Destinations are stored in table RFCDES. The RFCDES table describes logical destinations for remote function calls.
    It is not possible to maintain the RFCDES table directly.
    You can also access logical destinations via the Implementation Guide (IMG) by choosing Tools ® AcceleratedSAP ® Customizing ® Execute Project ® SAP Reference IMG.
    In the Implementation Guide, expand the following hierarchy structure:
    Basis
    Application Link Enabling (ALE)
    Sending and Receiving Systems
    Systems in Network
    Define Target Systems for RFC Calls
    Displaying Destinations
    The initial screen for this transaction displays a tree:
    Different connection types (i.e. partner systems or programs) are possible. For further information, see Types of Destinations.
    To display all information for a given destination, double-click it, or place the cursor on it and press F2 .
    To search for a destination, press the Find button and specify your selection. You get a list of all entries matching your selection. Place the cursor on the one you want, and press F2 or simply double-click the destination. All information for the given entry appears.
    Creating Destinations
    On the destinations overview screen (transaction code SM59), the connection types and all existing destinations are displayed in a tree structure.
    All available connection types are explained in Types of Destinations.
    To create a new RFC destination, press the Create button. A new screen is displayed with empty fields for you to fill in.
    If you want to create a new destination
    As you create a remote destination, you can specify a particular application server or a group of servers for a balanced distribution of system load.
    For details of the destination parameters, see Entering Destination Parameters.
    Changing Existing Destinations
    On the destinations overview screen (transaction code SM59), the connection types and all existing destinations are displayed in a tree structure.
    You can display all information for a given destination by double-clicking it or pressing F2 on it.
    To change an existing destination, double-click it, or place the cursor on it and press the Change button.
    For details of the destination parameters, see Entering Destination Parameters.
    Testing Destinations
    To test a destination, choose the appropriate function from the Test menu.
    Connection (also available via the Test connection pushbutton)
    Authorization (checks logon data)
    Local network (provides a list of application servers)
    You can use the CALL FUNCTION statement to call remote functions, just as you would call local function modules. However, you must include an additional DESTINATION clause to define where the function should run:
    CALL FUNCTION RemoteFunction
    DESTINATION Dest
    EXPORTING
    f1 =...
    f2 =...
    IMPORTING
    f3 =...
    TABLES
    t1 =...
    EXCEPTIONS......
    The field Dest can be either a literal or a variable: its value is a logical destination (for example, "hw1071_53") known to the local SAP System. Logical destinations are defined in the RFCDES table (or the TRFCD table in R/2 Systems) via transaction sm59 or the following menu path: Tools ® Administration, Administration ® Network ® RFC destinations. You can also access logical destinations via the Implementation Guide (IMG) by choosing Tools ® Customizing ® Enterprise IMG. In the Implementation Guide, you can then choose Cross-application components ® ALE ® Communication ® Define RFC destination.
    The remote function call concept, for example, allows you to access a function module in an R/2 System from an ABAP program in an R/3 System. If you want to read a customer record from your R/2 System’s database, create a remotely callable function module in the R/2 environment which retrieves customer records. Call this function from your R/3 System using a remote function call and listing the destination for the target R/2 System:

  • How to transfer the webservice username/PW to the RFC call in PI 7.0

    Hey,
    I would like to transfer the username/PW, which is supplied, when a specific web service is called. The web service is supposed to be exposed on PI 7.0 and will transfer the request to a function module in ECC 6.0 via an RFC communication channel in PI 7.0. Typically, you specify the username/PW in the RFC comm. channel in PI, but how do I dynamically specify the received username/PW from the web service call in that RFC call to ECC 6.0? Maybe SAML is the answer, but it seems a bit cumbersome in my case.
    BR
    Mikael

    Hi Michal
    Thanks for the link. I have been looking for blogs/material on how, in a mapping in PI, to place the value of SRemoteUser in a field in the target message but without luck. Is it really the case, that I have to use batch input in order for it to work?
    What is wrong with this code in a UDF where there is no input variable. Will it work?:
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/SOAP", "SRemoteUser");
    String WSuser = conf.put(key);
    return WSuser;
    Or should I skip this UDF all together and in stead use Variable Transport Binding and set XHeaderName1 = SRemoteUser   ?
    Looking forward to your book on iDocs in August

  • How to receive an RFC message in PI ABAP stack from ECC

    Hi mates,
    I am involved in a scenario in which we want to receive a message in PI (ABAP stack) from ECC (ABAP stack as well).
    We created a RFC destination (3) in sender system (ECC) so both stacks could be linked. However, we do not know how to receive this message once we are in PI Abap stack.
    In sender system code, a call destination takes place, an this destination stands for the one destination i noted before.
    BUT, as this RFC does not exist in PI, i wonder what steps have to be done in PI in order to be able to get the message from ECC.
    Hope you guys can guide me through this. Any help
    Thanks a lot in advance and best regards,
    david

    Hi Anand,
    No no, i do not want to create any sender RFC Comm Channel.
    What i want is to receive (by means of no PI adapter) a message in PI (abap stack) from ECC (abap stack), just by a RFC connection (type 3) between both systems.
    I will try to explain in more detail what i want to achieve:
    1) A standard SAP program is executed in ECC, at the end, a call destination is done.
    2) This destination call, calls an RFC destination that points to PI (RFC dest in SM59, type 3)
    (Until now, nothing is done in PI, there is no sender adapter, we just linked both ABAP stacks)
    3) In ABAP stack of PI, we want to receive the message, make any transformations and send the target emssage to PI adapters
    4) From that moment on, a ordinary PI integration is done.
    So my question is, what kind of stepd so i have to perform to get the message from ECC in PI without creating any object in PI (ESR, ID, i mean). Just as if we wanted to receive a RFC message, lets say, in BI (abap side) from ECC.
    Hope you got me this time.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Best regards,
    david

  • RFC adapter...How it handles multiple calls...

    Hi folks
    Basic doc'tation on RFC adapter states...qRFC is not supported..Agreed..
    I have a scenario where I need to dump lot of transactions from a flat file to an RFC.
    I have split the single structure by 1:n mapping(multi) and pushed each message using a Loop(For-each/Par-For-each) to RFC function..
    Now question here..Is this a good approach to invoking RFC's(I find response times to be pretty slow on my server upto 20 secs for each RFC call). Cant I parallely execute all the messages by calling the RFC on SRM systems.(PAR for each loop has a limit of 999 loops)..Is there any other option you can  suggest for this scene.?

    chk this link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
    there is a recommendation on when to use parForEach. From what i understand , parForEach is helpful if u intend to send "One" Message to multiple receiver systems and intend to handle the responses in different context.I beleive it won't help if u send "different" messages to the same receiver system.
    One more approach , i can think of is to make a Jco call from your "Message Mapping" itself using User defined functions instead of "configuring an RFC adapter" and "calling it in ccBPM". The below link should help on this.

  • How to increase RFC lookup calls

    Hi gurus,
    we are using RFC Lookup functionality in graphical mapping. We tried to send 60.000 messages every hour. But it takes ca. 30 minutes in SAP PI mapping environment. I checked the communication monitoring  see that every seconds send RFC receiver communication channel 20 RFC calls to SAP.
    In RFC Receiver channel i have been set the maximum connection to '30'. Shold i increase this parameter or is there another functionality?
    My question is, it is possible to increase RFC lookup calls?

  • Handle timeout exception in rfc call

    Dear SAP Experts,
    I have been searching for a while and could not find a satisfactory answer to my problem.
    I use SAP - CRM and call other SAP and non-SAP systems via RFC.
    I need to handle all exceptions, otherwise WEB UI displays a full page exception details, which is unacceptable on a production system.
    I have the following piece of code:
    CALL FUNCTION FUNCTION_NAME DESTINATION DEST
        EXPORTING
          S_IMPORT              = INPUT_DATA
        IMPORTING
          S_EXPORT              = OUTPUT_DATA
        EXCEPTIONS
          SYSTEM_FAILURE        = 1  MESSAGE err_msg " catch system failure
          COMMUNICATION_FAILURE = 2  MESSAGE err_msg " catch communication errors
          OTHERS                = 99.                " catch everything else
    It handles most of exceptions, however, it cannot process timeouts. Is there a way to handle timeout in ABAP RFC call? Is timeout exception uncatchable? If so is there a way around?
    Can you please suggest some solution as I am running out of ideas.
    Regards,
    Dominik

    I have found a solution. To approach this I use asynchronous function call.
    TRY.
        CALL FUNCTION ZZ_TEST_TIMEOUT' DESTINATION lv_dest STARTING NEW TASK 'TIMEOUT_TASK'
        CALLING me->callback ON END OF TASK
            EXCEPTIONS
              SYSTEM_FAILURE        = 1  MESSAGE err_msg " catch system failure
              COMMUNICATION_FAILURE = 2  MESSAGE err_msg " catch communication errors
              OTHERS                = 99.                " catch everything else
            WAIT UNTIL READY EQ 'X' UP TO 55 SECONDS.
            IF READY NE 'X'.
              RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE CX_TIMEOUT.
            ELSE.
              WRITE / 'success'.
            ENDIF.
      CATCH CX_ROOT INTO OREF.
       WRITE / 'TIMEOUT EXCEPTION'.
    ENDTRY.
    callback sets variable READY to abap_true when data is received.
    The trick is to use  UP TO 55 SECONDS. after wait, which is shorter than the server timeout. This terminates function call and gives opportunity to code your own timeout behavior.

    After updating to iOS 7 the contact photos no longer appear when I receive a call. How can I get them to show again?

    I'm having the identical problem on my iPhone 4 after upgrading to IOS 7--no ability to update apps or download new apps.  Here is what Apple tech support emailed to me:
    I understand that you are unable to download or update applications after updating iOS7 on your iTunes. I know you must be eager to get this resolved and I will be happy to help you today.
    ... to help you better with this issue I would request you to please try this steps given below to resolve your issue.
    Please follow this steps:
    1) Double tap the home button
    2) Hold down on an icon
    3) Tap the red "X" on iTunes, and the App Store.
    4) Tap Settings > Store > Tap your Apple ID, and choose sign out
    5) Tap Settings
    6) Tap General
    7) Tap Reset
    8) Tap Network Settings
    Once it has been closed with multi-tasking, and you have rebooted the device in the network settings reset, please sign in, and try again.
      Howevr, if you are facing the same issue than for this issue, you may need to call our AppleCare technical support team. A technical Advisor will be able to tell you about Apple's complimentary and fee-based support. The technical Advisor can also assist you in determining what option might be most helpful to you in this case.
    Mildly amusing that the instructions for force-closing a program are the IOS 6 instructions, which do not work on IOS 7.
    Otherwise I'm having a little success with this.  Some apps (not all) are updating. It seems that a few more apps update each time I go through the process (close everything, sign out, and either reset or reboot, then go to the app store, sign in and try to update all).  So far it has been a very lengthy, iterative process.

    This is the standard option value. Asynchronous are not the standard way and used only for very special purposes.

    The commands will be executed in sequence. So each call will be synchronously replayed against TS1 and TS2.
    What is you issue with this standard procedure?
