How to reconcile procedure or function in a mapping using OMB Plus?

HI,
Could any one please explain, how to reconcile a procedure or function used in a mapping?
Thank you,
Regards,
Gowtham Sen.

Hi,
You can only reconcile Inbound (from Procedure to the mapping) :
OMBRECONCILE PROCEDURE \
'/[Project_name]/[Module_name]/[Procedure_name]
TO MAPPING '[Mapping_name]' \
OPERATOR '[for example name of a Post-Mapping Process in the mapping]' \
USE (RECONCILE_STRATEGY 'REPLACE', MATCHING_STRATEGY 'MATCH_BY_OBJECT_ID')
Hope that will help.
Best Regards
Samy

  • How to test procedures and functions of pl/sql

    I am working as a QA basically i got a new assignment of testing functions and procedures, and packeged bodies. Can any one help me in this matter.
    Please help me.
    Hi i am new to oracle I want to test procedures and functions,
    and packaged bodies of pl/sql.

    It depends on what you meant by "testing". I guess you need to check that routines (functions, procedures, packages etc) in valid state and execute without errors. The simpliest way is to get some development tool like TOAD (http://www.quest.com), Oracle Maestro (http://www.sqlmaestro.com) or PL/SQL Developer (http://www.allroundautomations.com). You can connect with them to database and look at the routine state VALID or INVALID. You can recompile them, run and even debug. I guess this should be enough.
    Alternatively you can do same thing from sqlplus. Of course with lesser comfort. You need to write certain SQL statements. For example i want to find invalid procedures:
    SQL> select OBJECT_NAME, OBJECT_TYPE from USER_OBJECTS where STATUS='INVALID';
    To check how procedures work you need to execute anonymous PL/SQL block like this:
    declare
         /* local variables declaration */
         NAME VARCHAR2(4000);
         PRESIDENT_ID NUMBER(38);
         ID NUMBER(38);
    begin
         /* setting up variables */
         NAME:='MICROSOFT';
         PRESIDENT_ID:='BILLY';
         ID:=NULL;
         /* calling routine */
         GEOMETRY.ADD_COMPANY(NAME,PRESIDENT_ID,ID);
    end;

  • How do you call a function within a package using OCI in C

    I am trying to call a user-defined function in Oracle 8.1.7 using OCI in C. I am getting a ORA-06550 PLS-00221, <function name> is not a procedure or is undefined. Can anyone tell me how I would call a function using OCI?

    I think I figured it out, but I am now getting a ORA-06512 error; numeric or value error: character string buffer too small.

  • How to stop a scheduled job using OMB*Plus ?

    Hello everyone,
    I use a OMB*Plus script to deploy a project in various environments. This includes scheduled jobs.
    In this context, I need to stop the schedules of the previous versions to avoid a script crash.
    I found the OMBSTOP command thad could do, but I need to retrieve the job ID of the schedule I want to stop. And I don't know how to get the Job ID.
    I could get it from a previous launch and save it somewhere, but it wouldn't work if the schedule was manually stopped and restarted. Maybe is there a command that lists the running / scheduled jobs and their IDs? I didn't find it.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Cedric.

    Frankly, I cannot see where this is available via pure OMB+, however you could back-door it if if you can figure out how to get these values from the public views (I would guess from the "Scheduling Views" section at http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31080_01/doc/owb.102/b28225/toc.htm).
    Then you could use my SQL library from OMB+ to get these values and stop the schedules before deploying. you can save this file as omb_sql_library.tcl and then just "source /path/to/omb_sql_library.tcl in your own script to make the functions available in your script.
    {code}
    package require java
    # PVCS Version Information

    {code}
    So you would want to connect to the control center, query for scheduled jobs, stop them, and then continue on with your deployment. I assume that you also need to pause and check that an scheduled job in mid-run has time to exit before moving ahead. You could do a sleep loop querying against system tables looking for active sessions running mappings and waiting until they are all done or something if you really want to bulletproof the process.
    Hope this helps,
    Mike

  • How to migrate User Define Function to another mapping in other namespace

    Hi Everybody
    I have define many User Define Functions in mapping
    How can i use them in other mapping
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
    I tried to explain the steps.
    1. Take the JAVA code of your User-Defined Functions
    2. Go to a JAVA editor (e.g NWDS, Eclipse, etc...)
    2.1. create a Java project
    2.2. create a Java class
    2.3. inside your Java class, put each JAVA code of your User-Defined Function inside a Method
    2.4. Export your Java class to a JAR file (e.g my_tools.jar)
    3. Go to IR
    3.1 create an Imported Archive (IA) and upload your JAR file.
    3.2 in this IA, you see your Java class which contains all your methods.
    4. inside your mapping,
    4.1 create a User-Defined Function <u>and import</u> your class
    4.2 use your method.
    So, you define in only one place your code (thanks to a IA) and you will be able to use it inside several mappings.
    I hope I don't forget steps...
    Advantage: if tomorrow, you want to create a new function, just add a new method to your Java class and re-import your JAR file
    Oh, I missed: your IA must be created inside a specific Software Component (SC__TOOLS) and this one must be linked with the others by a "Usage dependency", else your IA will be recognise only in one Software Component (and maybe only in one namespace)

  • How to bind mapping input parameter in process flow using OMB Plus

    Hi
    I have created a process flow with a mapping.
    This mapping has a input parameter, that I want to bind to a variable using OMBPlus
    OMBALTER PROCESS_FLOW '$process' MODIFY PARAMETER 'P_EOD_DATE_IN' SET PROPERTIES (BINDING) VALUES ('V_EOD_DATE') does not work as P_EOD_DATE is NOT a process parameter
    neither does

  • How to properly create a calendar using OMB*Plus, to schedule a workflow ?

    Hello all,
    I want to schedule a workflow when deploying via OMB*Plus.

    SET PROPERTIES (REPEAT_EXPRESSION)\
    VALUES ('FREQ=WEEKLY;INTERVAL=1;BYDAY=TUE WED THU FRID SAT;BYHOUR=12;BYMINUTE=0;BYSECOND=0') ]
    If I copy-paste an example from the doc, the last line becomes :
    VALUES ('FREQ=MINUTELY;INTERVAL=20') ]
    The result is:

  • How to find out list of procedures and functions inside a package

    How I can find out the list of Procedures and Functions inside a Package.

    Look at ALL_PROCEDURES and ALL_ARGUMENTS.

  • How can I catch a resultset thrown out by PL/SQL procedure or function.

    hi,
    I want to write a program in java which receives a resultset
    from PL/SQL , how can I do that.
    I don't want to create the resultset by passing a simple sql
    statement, I want the sql statement to be executed in the
    procedure or function,
    which in turn returns a PL/SQL table of records, or refcursor,
    and capture it in the resultset.

    Here's a quick note on how I do it:
    1. RETURN a REF CURSOR from your PL/SQL function.
    2. In your Java program, you declare the return type from the
    Statement as OracleTypes.CURSOR.
    /* Prepare your PL/SQL function call here */
    CallableStatement mystatement = myconnection.prepareCall
    ( "BEGIN ? := myfunction( p_param => ? ); END;" );
    /* Register the Oracle REF CURSOR as the return type */
    mystatement.registerOutParameter(1, OracleTypes.CURSOR);
    /* Set any additional input parameters to your function */
    mystatement.setString(2, "Param value");
    3. When you fetch the cursor from your Statement, do getObject
    () and then cast the Object as a ResultSet e.g.:
    mystatement.execute);
    ResultSet rs = (ResultSet) mystatement.getObject(1);
    /* Now you can iterate through the ResultSet in the same way as
    for any other JDBC ResultSet */
    while (rset.next())
    /* Fetch the values from your REF CURSOR here */
    mystatement.close();
    There may be better ways to do this, but it works for me.
    Regards,
    Chris I've put in a few more details above. Sorry I can't copy in a
    whole chunk of code for you, but this should be enough to get
    you started. I would recommend the Wrox Press book on
    application programming with Oracle 8i, as it includes lots of
    examples of many different tools for Oracle 8i e.g. JDBC, EJB,
    BC4J, Portal, XML etc.
    Good luck,
    Chris
