How to recreate iFS context index on 8.1.7?

Wanting to search the content on all the new text files uploaded to iFS...
I ran sync_index on the iFS GLOBALINDEXEDBLOB_I index without first increasing the appropriate Datafile and Tablespace sizes first (thinking they would grow as needed). The sync_index ran a lot faster than I estimated it would, and afterward one of the tablespaces (IFS_CTX_I) was at 100%. Ever since, running any query that "touches" the index (e.g. one with a CONTAINS clause) causes the server process to die with an ACCESS_VIO exception, and ORA-03113 is reported to the SQL client. Any further activity on the client evokes ORA-03114.
What is the best way to recreate the index? I don't know all the properties and options iFS used to create it originally. Would ALTER INDEX REBUILD be more appropriate here?

How to define ctxsys.context index for an ORDDoc column

I need to use Oracle Text to search on a column that is of type ORDsys.OrdDoc. Can someone point me in the direction of an example please - I note someone pointed out that a USER_DATASTORE is the way to go, but what do I need to put it it? I also wish to use Word to HTML feature of the INSO_FILTER if at all possible.

Portal Context Index Creation Performance issue

Recreating Portal Context Indexes takes around 36 hours at our site (after portal upgrade from 3.0.9.8.2 to 3.0.9.8.5 as per release notes). I was following the Note:158368.1 to rebuild the indexes. Is there anything that i can do to tune this ?

Unfortunately indexing is generally a fairly intensive operation and can be time consuming.
There are some things that you can do to optimize the performance of your database as a whole which may in turn help the performance of your indexing operation. Look at the Performance Guide and Reference book in the database documentation.
Much of the time spent indexing is taken up by filtering binary documents and fetch content identified by URL attributes. In the case of the later, it might be worth checking in the ctx_user_index_errors view to ensure that you don't have a lot of URL requests that are timing out. The timeout is set to 30 seconds and if there are a lot or URLs where the host cannot be resolved or the fetch times out it might be costing a lot of time during the indexing operation. This is often the case if a proxy is required to reach the URLs but the proxy has not be configured correctly.

of the same table content.
When i have more than one collumn being queryed using the contains syntax, oracle display the ora 29907 error saying found duplicated labels in primary invocations .
This query works:
SELECT * FROM content WHERE cod_type = '1'
AND (UPPER(title) LIKE UPPER('%tabagismo%')
OR contains (text, 'tabagismo',1)>0
This not works:
SELECT * FROM content
WHERE cod_type = '1' AND (

Error creating Context Index

Hi,
Iam trying to create an context index in a table. After a logn run it gave an error. end-of-file on communication channel. How to resolve this error. And do i have any possibility to continue my index creation. How to recover it?

"End of file on communication channel" nearly always means the Oracle background process has crashed, which means either an Oracle bug or a hardware issue.
You would need to look at the database alert logs to get more information about the crash.
You probably won't be able to resume the indexing job from where it crashed, but will need to drop the index and recreate it.

Optimizing context index

I have created a context index and want to optimize it regularly. I issue the following statement:
ctx_ddl.optimize_index('MY_INDEX','FAST');
In the Enterprise Manager I can see, that there are a lot of Sort/Merge-operations, but the optimize process doesn't finish.
(During optimize there are inserts into the table and the index is updated by the ctx_ddl.sync_index procedure).
Can anyone tell me why the optimize doesn't finish? How can I avoid this situation?

How long did you leave it running?Optimizing ran more than 10 hours. So I cancelled it, because this is not acceptable.
Optimization is an intensive process, and can sometimes take longer than the original index creation.
If you want it to complete in less time, consider using FULL optimize, but setting a time limit on it. That way it will do as much as it can within the time limit, and then start again next time from where it finished last time.During the night, I start a FULL optimize with MAXTIME = 60 minutes. But this seems not to be enough. If I don't start FAST optimizing during the day, the index get to much fragmentated.
Alternatively, if optimization is taking a lot longer than creating the index, consider dropping the index and recreating it from scratch. This will require downtime on the system, unless you get clever and use the USER_DATASTORE to create two indexes on different, dummy, columns - and switch searching between them when you want to rebuild the index. Make sure you use a generous setting for INDEX_MEMORY to avoid fragmentation.

DATA lo_nd_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
DATA lo_el_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element.
DATA index TYPE i.
* navigate from <CONTEXT> to <NODE> via lead selection
lo_nd_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_node ).
lo_el_node = lo_nd_node->get_lead_selection( ).
index = lo_el_node->get_index( ).
node is the name of the node which is binded to the table.
For printing the message u can use code wizard.
Press ctrl-F7. Now Select generate message.
IN this select the method REPORT_SUCCESS
In the code now u can give index to Message text Exporting parameter. Comment receiving parameter.
Write the whole code in onLeadSelect of the table.

Performance of context index with sorting

Dear All,
I've got a problem and don't know how to solve this.
there has a table which have a XMLTYPE field to store the unstructred xml, and created with context index.
When I try to select a record from it by using contains (res, '[searchingfield]')>0, the response time is quick, but when I try to order by another field which in the same table, the response time is drop down slightly. (ex. select id, path, res, update_date from testingtbl where contains(res, 'shopper')>0 order by update_date desc.
Actually there is a context index build for field 'res', any other index build for field 'update_date', when sql without 'order by update_date', the context index will use, but the update_date index will not be used even have ordering criteria.
Is there any expect can tell how to solve this? how to keep the performance even doing the sorting process?

After creating relational model, you'll have to create physical one. In physical model there is index properties dialog, where you can adjust context index properties.

With the conversion of the SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Builder product to SAP BusinessObjects BI workspaces, support for the universal-based visualization analytics was removed. The list of available analytics was eliminated from the module library, thereby disallowing the creation of analytics directly in BI workspaces.
As a result, analytics created previously in Dashboard Builder can be opened in BI workspaces, but they are not displayed, instead the user will see an information message.
The solution to this change is to recreate the required analytics in other SAP BusinessObjects tools, such as SAP BusinessObjects Dashboard Design or SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. You can then substitute the new analytics for the objects created previously in Dashboard Builder.

Thanks, I am able to set the java path in windows environment and able to execute the jar command. It created a analytics2.ear file but when i try to deploy from the weblogic console it gives the following error..
[J2EE:160120]Error: The module, 'analytics.war', is declared either in the application.xml or in the weblogic-application.xml descriptor but cannot be found in the ear file.
Trying to research on the above. Any inputs are appreciated. I have the following files in my directory
1. analytics2.war
2.analytics2-ws.war
3. META-INF
They are in Analytics_war directory of windows. I am not able to use
jar -cf analytics.war -C app .
as it gives me an error that 'app\. folder does not exits. Replaced with Analytics_war assuming that it is looking to write the file to app folder still it did not work.

I know how to do explain plan.
my point is not the query i post, it's just a example.
I have many query on my production we optimize many times (they past from 3min to 15 sec with optimisation, but we want to have better result). At this point we are looking to implant the context indexes to make them more efficient.
Do make this sql more efficient we have to deal with like '%xxxxxx%' and the context indexes like to be a option, but we have to be able to do some substring search with context option.
Is it possible to do it and how?
This is my question and why i post it here. The query is just a simple example to illsutrate what i want.
