1) Please help me to reduce the version of a pdf file which is v1.7 as my BI Publisher support only pdf version upto Version1.5.
2)This pdf file 1.7 contains some pre-delivered fields, i want to remove all the pre-delivered fields. Please suggest.

A lot depends on what you want to do with the file. The encryption has limited most options on the form. If you are wanting to simply post a view of the form, then you might try a screen capture. Of course there is always the question of what you want to do with the form and any legal aspects related to that use. Other than answering potential legal questions of your use, we might be able to help more if we were aware of the desired use. At the moment, the screen capture is my only suggestion. There may be other work arounds, but probably not appropriate for discussion on this forum.
If you are wanting the form for publication as an example in some document, I would strongly suggest you contact the gov't agency and discuss your intent and try to get a version you can use with their approval. Overall, that is the cleanest way to do whatever you are after for a legit purpose. Even a graphic version should have the permission of the government agency.

The pre filled fields from downloaded pdf forms are blank; e.g.; prefilled pdf forms from insurance companies.

I download pre filled pdf claim forms from the web site of my insurance company. The fields are not pre filled with my personnal data ( name, address, etc) like it is supposed to. Furthermore, I cannot even type my own data in the blank fields. All of this works all right with another browser.

The new built-in PDF viewer does not have the capability to do fill-in forms. Development is still underway on enhancements to the PDF viewer.
In the meantime, you will need a PDF application that can do fill-in forms (Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader are 2 free PDF applications that can fill-in PDF forms).

I created a test program which is very simple program like below.

Then, I compiled and built my test program using the command with CC v.5.8 (Studio 11) :

CC test.oOnce, I used ldd or even pvs .. I have got the following result
pvs ./a.out libCstd.so.1 (SUNW_1.1.1, SUNW_1.2);
libCrun.so.1 (SUNW_1.5);
libc.so.1 (SYSVABI_1.3, SUNWprivate_1.1);
However, I tried to use CC v.5.2 to compile & built my program .. and use ldd & pvs to check for the dynamic dependency .. It did not result the same as follows:

- How can I remove libCstd.so out from output of ldd (or pvs)?
- Which version of compiler give the correct result? (from above)

C++ 5.2 (no longer supported) linked the static version of libCstd by default.
C++ 5.4 and later link the dynamic version of libCstd by default.
All C++ 5.x compilers link the dynamic version of libCrun by default.
We very strongly recommend that you always link the dynamic version of both libraries, unless you have a specific reason why they cannot be linked dynamically. (Such reasons are rare, and are usually limited to programs run on an embedded computer without full OS support.)
The dynamic libraries are shipped as part of Solaris, so they are always available to applications. These libraries sometimes are specific to the OS version they run on. A program built with an older compiler on an older version of Solaris will run on a newer version of Solaris if you link the libraries dynamically. It might not work if you link the libraries statically.
If your program uses dynamic libraries containing C++ code, your program is likely to fail if libCrun or libCstd is linked statically anywhere in the program build.

How to remove all reference to topic that has no underlying file

We are a team of four who use Robohelp 7 and Robosource
control 3, with the roboshelp source on a server.
Sometimes Robohelp seems to get confused about which file
corresponds to a topic: usually because the file doesn't exist.
This can happen sometimes if I change the name of file even if I do
so in the topic properties, using the topic properties dialog box.
In such a case, we are left with a 'zombie' topic, which we
can't use but can't get rid of. I want to know a sure way to remove
all knowledge of a zombie topic from Robohelp.
For example, is it enough (or sensible) to do the following?
- delete all links in other topics to that zombie topic
- delete the reference in the .fpj file to the zombie topic
This seems to be an intermittent issue but very time
consuming when it happens!

First of all let me say that I use a different version
control application. However this does seem to be a synching issue
between your RH project and the RoboSource database. If after you
check in your project, can you check for any differences between
the source and the source control database. This may shed some
light. I certianly wouldn't delete anything just yet.

But if there are some in and out points in the clip only the select clip part is converted as a sequence, what is the solution to remove all those in and out points from extendscript code, or to get the full clip to sequence even there are some in and out points.
I am using the function like this; qe.project.getItemAt(i).automateToSequence(seq,0,0,1,1);

Double click the pre-comp or nested comp, open comp settings from the menu or by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl/Cmnd + k.
Note, changing the length of the comp will not extent the length of footage or layers inside the comp. You have to do that manually and it depends on your footage type.

Yes, there is. Go to the Tools menu -> Generate XPaths and load in your xml file. Select the element you are interested in and you will get the XPath to utilise.

How to remove all remnants of Mountain Lion from an early 09 Mac Mini?

I have a 1 TB hard drive that was formaly in a late model 2012 Mac Mini that the Geinus's thought was faulty. So they R & R'd the drive, but I thought otherwise. I R & R'd the drive in a early 2009 Mac Mini and all was well until I decided to removed Litle Snitch 3.0 Using Back in Time 2. Well everything went south real quick! I've since tried my best reinstalling Snow leopard. For some reason either Mountain Lion remains somewhere in the computer. I've formatted many times, no good. Everytime the computer boots if I should hold down the option key I get Mountain Lion featutes! I can't get into target mode, I can't boot applejack, I can't boot off of DISKWARRIOR! I don't know what to do! Suggestions Please.

First, that cannot be an iBook G4 as that machine cannot run Snow Leopard let alone Mountain Lion. To run Snow Leopard it has to be an Intel processor, not a G4. What does it show as the Model Identifier in About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Model Identifier?
Second, if you have erased the hard drive there should not be remnants of any prior content. Even though Disk Warrior is saying nothing is wrong with the hard drive, it sounds as though there are problems. You may want to consider simply replacing the hard drive so there are no questions about faults. A good source is OWC, http://www.macsales.com where they also have on-line videos showing how to do the replacement.
Third, you could also try again to restart using the Snow Leopard DVD/CD and use Disk Utility on that install disk to erase again, and do it a couple times, then try to install. If it continues to refuse, then it sounds as though there is a fault with the hard drive.

I've found in Pdf's many time when you go to Optimize a PDF and look at the font list there are often up to a 1/2dozen copies of a given font, say Helvetica, then that many Helvetica Bold, or Arial or Ariel Italic
What I do ie remove from list all but one copy of each different font. often dramatically reduces the size. also something lese is Flattening images will in some cases reduce a file size. I have run into a case where it actually made a PDF Larger.

File -> Export. Set the Kind to Jpeg. The Jpeg quality option will have most effect on the file size.
