How to refer the SQL*Loader command line parameters in the control file

The problem I am trying to resolve is to insert the input file name when SQL*Loader is loading the record from the file. I have multiple files to load and it is nice to associate a record with a particular input file.

Create the control file dynamically (and fill one of the columns with the file name as a constant) before you start SQL*Loader
Another option is to use external tables

    Hi,

    Hi, MB.
If you are talking about the automatic Java Web Start support for launching app clients in GlassFish, you can pass the equivalent of command line arguments using the query string of the URL you use to launch the app client.
    Briefly, use
    http://host:port/client-path?arg=first-arg&arg=second-arg& ...
specifying the argument values in the order that you want them passed to the client.
The GlassFish server will do the right thing and generates the correct JNLP so your arguments are passed to the app client.
The GlassFish developer's guide http://glassfish.dev.java.net/nonav/javaee5/docs/AS91DG.pdf discusses this and all aspects of the Java Web Start support. You can also take a look at this blog entry http://blogs.sun.com/quinn/entry/command_line_arguments_and_properties that focuses on how to pass arguments.
Since this technique deals with argument passing in the URL, it works no matter how you launch the app client: a URL in a browser, the javaws command, etc.

  • Starting Projector w/Command line Parameters

I would like pass one to three command line parameters to the projectors embedded SWF at runtime.

Im looking to do this via a command line. Ultimately how I intend on using this is creating a Windows Explorer Context Menu that allows me to right click on a folder or file and automatically add it to iTunes.
Ive already created one to 'Play in iTunes' and using the command line mentioned above and it works like a charm.
    Thanks again!

  • XSQL Command-Line, parameters with blanks

Is it possible to use XSQL Command-Line with parameters containing blanks (space characters).
In an URL parameter spaces can be encoded with "+" or "%20", but this does'nt seem to work with XSQL Command-Line parameters.
    -- Peter

I can't make this work on Unix (solaris), but I can see it is a shell script problem, not a XSQL problem.
The normal syntax for Unix shell script would be
    $ script.sh foo="one two"
but the standard Oracle-supplied xsql unix shell script sets environment and passes all command-line parameters to the java program with
    oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLCommandLine $*
    and thereby the quotes disappear.
The problem is not really big, since I could just do
    oracle.xml.xsql.XSQLCommandLine test.xsql "foo=one two"
after setting classpath. Anyway, if anybody knows how to make the xsql script work with quoted parameters, let me know.

  • Command Line Parameters for spotify.exe? (Windows 7)

I've been trying to use Windows Speech Recognition to open music. The problem is, the WSR Macros only open the executable then ask you if you want to run the program with command-line parameters. What I want to do is say the album or the artist then have Spotify open and play that artist/album; I can't do that until I figure out how to open spotify with parameters, if there are even any. Thanks for your help. (I also know how Spotify has had multiple suggestions for this to be integrated in the application itself, but I'm trying to just use Windows Speech Recog)

  • Can't install trial version--command line parameters

    I'm considering buying Lightroom and have downloaded the trial version, but I can't install it.  I get the following<br />Command Line Parameters:<br /><br />/L language ID<br />/S Hide initialization dialog. For silent mode use: /S/v/qn<br />/V parameters to MSIExec.ese<br />/UA<url to InstMsiA.exe><br />/UW<url to InstMsiW.exe><br />/UM<url to msi package><br /><br />Please help.  I don't know what this means<br /><br />thanks

    Hi Cherie,
    Here's how you do it.
    1. Start the installation from the downloaded file or the CD.
    2. You will have a folder Lightroom 2.0.
    3. In that folder go to the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 folder.
    4. Right click on "setup32.exe" and drag it to release it anywhere in the empty space.
    5. You will get 3 options.
    6. Choose the "Create Shortcut here" option.
    7. Once the shortcut is created, right-click on the shortcut and choose properties.
    8. In the target area, which might look some thing like this "C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Desktop\Adobe\Lightroom 2.0\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2\setup32.exe" go to the end of the line and add "/s" without the quotes.
    9. The same line would look <"C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Desktop\Adobe\Lightroom 2.0\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2\setup32.exe" /s>
    10. Click on Apply and then on OK.
    11. Double -click on the shortcut and the program will install.
    12. Try it! Thought the steps appear lengthy, they worked on the 3 PCs that I tried on. :)

Need change something? Seperate configuaration file required ?

    Hi Dinesh,
Based on my research, the issue is caused by you are running a SSIS package with a connection manager that has a space-character in the connection name.
To work around this issue, please refer to the following two suggestions:
Rename the connection manager in THE package to not include certain special characters (spaces, dashes). Note that the connection manager name can be changed without having to edit any property of the connection string itself.
Escape quote the connection name, such that
    /CONNECTION "server.conn 1";"..."
    becomes
    /CONNECTION "\"server.conn 1\"";"..."
The following similar issue is for your reference:

  • How to pass a command line argument to the sequence?

    Hi,
My GUI is written in VB.NET. I can read the command line argument in the GUI, using: Me.AxApplicationMgr.CommandLineArguments(). But I don't know how to pass it on to my sequence file which the GUI invokes. How do I read the command line argument from the sequence file?
My purpose, is to have the same basic sequence execute different subsequences depending on starting conditions...
I am using TestStand 3.0 with a VB.NET GUI, on Windows XP.
I'd appreciate any help on the subject.
    Alan

    Hi Alan,
One obvious way would be to add parameter(s) to the MainSequence and then modify the process model sequence file to use the new parameter(s) in the step "MainSequence Callback"  in either Single Pass or Test UUTs but I wouldn't recommend this approach.
The sequence file to be run via the entry point can be found at "RunState.ProcessModelClient" and the lookup string to the MainSequence would be "RunState.ProcessModelClient.Data.Seq["MainSequence"] or .Seq[0] .
Therefore you could quite easy use the SetVal method to setup a Local variable in the MainSequence of your Sequence File to receive the command line string.
Also you could do this without altering the Process Model Sequence File by using the Callback Sequence ProcessSetup in your Sequence File.
    As an example.
You have a string in your Locals of MainSequence called CmdLineStr.
If you add the Callback Sequence ProcessSetup to your SequenceFile, then add an ActiveX Automation Adapter step which is setup for a PropertyObject and the reference is RunState.Caller.RunState.ProcessModel.Data.Seq[0].Locals.CmdLineStr.
There is an extra RunState.Caller to the lookup string, that's because I am doing the work in a SubSequence of Entry Point Sequence.
The method to use is SetValString and the parameters of the PropertyObject will be
    lookupString = ""
    options = 0 or 1
newValue = where evey you have stored you command line string.
Now when you run your sequence file you will find that the Locals.CmdLineStr will contain your parameter string.
Hope this is of help to you.

How to configure Team explorer 2010 command-line tool in Mac x os.
Hot to configure shell or system path to include the folder to which (TF client) unzipped archive available. I am new to Mac X OS. Please help.

    Dmitry,
    Thanks for the great writeup!
I think I've got my universal instant client libraries built correctly.
I too am using MacBook Pro but I'm getting stuck at building the 32 bit oci8.so
First problem is my pecl download (ver 1.4.1) did not contain a "configure" file so ./configure failed.
I used configure from /sw/....... to try to continue.
Second problem. Using existing configure from /sw/.... I used an appropriate variation of your example command
    (./configure --with-oci8=instantclient,/usr/local/oracle/instantclient_10_2 && make).
Things look like everything ran OK but The output does NOT include an oci8.so file
So I guess my question is: Which "configure" should I be using? And if it is not the one on the system under /sw/...
where would I get it since it doesn't come in the pecl download?

  • How to automatically generate a build file of the application from command-line

    Hi All
How can we automatically generate a build file of the application from command-line (as opposed to using Jdev IDE to click to generate a build.xml) ?
    Thanks

User, which jdev version do you use?
I don't think you can do this. You can only create an ant build.xml from the project inside jdev.
You can use ojdeploy to build the project.  This is the only method which will also make the necessary changes to the descriptors.
