ejbjars will have access to utility jars.

How to refer one view from another view?

I have 2 views in my Adobe Flash Builder mobile app. I need to refer the first view in my second view.
How to refer one view from another view? Or how to create a reference to a view wherever needed?

I don't need any data from my first view. In a certain flow, I need to make my first view to be invisible.
for eg., My First view is in portrait mode. I change the device to Landscape. In the landscape mode, I want to show a completely different view (second view).
In this case, what happens is, I see my first view in Landscape mode for a second. Then the second view appears. When I change to Landscape mode, only the second view should be seen. I need to make my first view to be completely invisible in the OnOrientationChanging event of

I don't want to keep them in the top level because other EJB JAR files also has
the same jar files(code in the classes in the jar is slightly different)
can I keep the additional jar files in my EJB JAR?

Specifiy the jar files in the Ejb jar manifest file.

Accessing war classes from ejb-jar

I've a.ear with b.war and c.jar. c.jar contains ejbs.
I've some classes in b.war which i need to access from the ejbs.

without specifying classpath explicitly. And I also double checked that the postgresql.jar is listed in the CLASSPATH of my Windows box.

By the way, I have written JDBC codes hundreds of times, each time without any trouble. This is my first time I happened to run a JDBC app as an executable jar. And it failed. So I guess there must be other ways to load the class in this case.

Ejb-ref-mapping in orion-ejb.jar missing location attribute after deployment

I have noticed that on several of my entity beans that after deployment the <ebj-ref-mapping location="JNDIName" name="LocalName"/> is missing the location attribute. This causes any attempts to lookup the EJBHome for that EJB to fail because the path to the EJBHome in JNDI cannot be found (obviously!). The problem is that this causes me to manually edit the application-deployment/<app>/<ejb.jar>/orion-ejb.zml after each deployment via the admin.jar. This seems like a bug with OC4J and I am wondering if Oracle is aware/doing something to fix this?
I have noticed that the same problem exists for session beans, however, for some strange reason the EJBHomes can still be resolved in JNDI. In all cases the location in JNDI is different then the <ejb-ref-name> I used in the client EJB.
Example being I have an entity bean at com.foo.Foo and the session bean uses lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/Foo") it is still able to find the EJB even though the orion-ejb.xml looses the location attribute. If the case is an entity bean referencing another entity bean in the same fashion I get an error because the location attribute is missing.

If the 'location' value is same as the 'name' value, then even though the location attribute is missing, it is ok and should work. If they are not the same, then you should have defined the ejb-link element in your ejb-jar.xml when defining this ejb-ref and that would make the location attribute appear in the generated orion-ejb-jar.xml.
If the referenced bean is from a different application (EAR), then you should have used the -parent option when deploying the application.

How will be the weblogic-ejb-jar and ejb-jar xml for EJB Local Interface?

I have one ear application which is using Stateless Session Beans. I don't have any Bean to Bean communication . At present, the client is invoking remote methods thro Home/Remote interfaces. My doubt is , shall I implement EJBLocal home/ local interface to obtain this same functionality cos, in this app, both client and EJb bean have been deployed in same JVM. Can Local interfaces only be applicable to Bean - Bean relation ship?If LocalHome/Local interfaces can be implemented in my scenario, then may I know how will be the ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml?

Local interfaces are for communication between ejbs and their clients when both are in the same JVM. The clients can be normal clients, jsps, servlets, and other ejbs. If the client is not in the same JVM you cannot use local interfaces even though your client is another ejb.
Advantage of using local interface is it reduces the network overhead.

How to load a class from a jar not in the classpath

I have a gazillion jars of class files that I want to access dynamically in an application. I don't want to list every jar. The jars also contain images. With images you can explicitly point to the jar with and load the image with createImage....

Is there a similar string you can use when creating classes on the fly in a classloader with getClass().forName("classname") ??

Hm, if you are not in an EJB container or some other environment that won't let you create a classloader, you might create a new URLClassLoader with a path pointing to those JARs. You will probably want to use your normal application class loader as the parent loader, so any referenced common class definitions are found during the load.
Note that - in order to make use of the classes - you will normally need to know that they implement some interface (or inherit from a common base class) to which you can cast their instances. These Interfaces/base classes will have to be packaged for normal loading by your application class loader; else the cast will trigger an error during compile time. After this, loading them dynamically during runtime is no longer an option since they are referenced directly in the sourcecode.
Alternatively you might do away with interfaces/base classes and call methods of dynamically loaded classes also dynamically: via reflection. But I guess this is too cumbersome for what you might have in mind. Also it has more invocation overhead, less type safety and handling all these exceptions wrapped in InvocationTargetExceptions can quickly become a nightmare too...

How to configure maven to build EJB Jar?

I would like to know how you setup Maven2 or alternatively Ant to build an EJB Jar.
I have managed to do this in Maven by adding required jars to my local repository and added dependencies in the pom.xml file. This, however, do not seem like a good solution. I would like set some kind of classpath for maven to look for all libraries included in my application server.
Could you please help me to solve this and I will be most grateful?!

The jar utility allows you to extract files as well as put them into a jar. This is in the java docs.
You might have to hand modify the manifest file if it was hand modified in the first place. All you should have to do is copy the text from one file to another. The manifest will have the same name so you will have to extract to different dirs so it isn't overwritten.
Steps:
-Create dir1 and dir2
-Extract jar1 into dir1, Extract jar2 into dir2.
-Manually examine manifests and combine if needed.
-Copy files from one dir to another.
-Use jar tool to create new jar.

Using JMX to read ejb manifest jar and ejb-jar.xml in ejb jar inside ear

Using common jars containing EJBs in multiple ears

I was wondering if there was an easy way to have references to jars that is contained in one ear in another ear. The main question is that if we have some EJBs that are commonly used in multiple ears then is there a way to have those common EJBs in a single ear and have the other ears that need these EJBs reference them in some way without having to copy them into those ears? If you think about it carefully, one .ear file represents one enterprise application. In other words, a .ear file represents a packaged unit that must be deployable by itself.
If one desires to use some reusable business component in one's enterprise application, all dependencies that that component might be having will need to be included in the deployable unit, i.e. the .ear file, for that application.
On similar lines, the following is an extract from the Enterprise JavaBeans specification 1.1 (pay particular attention to the first paragraph therein)...
The ejb-jar file must also contain the class files for all the classes and interfaces that the enterprise bean
class, and the remote and home interfaces depend on. This includes their superclasses and superinter-faces,
and the classes and interfaces used as method parameters, results, and exceptions.
An ejb-jar file does not have to include the class files of the home and remote interfaces of an enterprise
bean that is referenced by an enterprise bean in the ejb-jar, or other classes needed by the referenced
enterprise bean, if the referenced enterprise bean or needed classes are defined in another jar file that is
