How to access external jars from ejb jars

All,
This is my first visit/post to this group. What I'd like to know is how
an external jar file with common, shared classes can be access by a
session bean in an ejbc'd jar. I'm running WLS 6.1 and have some DAO
and other classes in a common.jar that I'd like all my ejbc'd jars to
have access to. Any help would be appreciated!

ejbjars will have access to utility jars.

  • Accessing war classes from ejb-jar

    Hi,
    I've a.ear with b.war and c.jar. c.jar contains ejbs.
    I've some classes in b.war which i need to access from the ejbs.
    How may I achieve it? what do i need to configure in the app server or the ejb deployment descriptor?
    tx in adv
    Kejal

    are you absolute sure that the needed jar / class is
    in the classpath?Yes, there is no question about that. Because I can run the same app (unjarred version) with a command such as
    java MyApp
    without specifying classpath explicitly. And I also double checked that the postgresql.jar is listed in the CLASSPATH of my Windows box.
    Is the Class.forName the line where the ClassNotFound
    Exception is thrown?Yes, I caught the exception exactly at that line.
    I use the same for cloudscape
    Object driver =
    Class.forName("com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver").newInstance
    ();and it works fine!Probably your app is not a jarred one, or is it?
    By the way, I have written JDBC codes hundreds of times, each time without any trouble. This is my first time I happened to run a JDBC app as an executable jar. And it failed. So I guess there must be other ways to load the class in this case.

  • How to refer utitlity jar from EJB jar in ear?

  • How to access extern files from a servlet

    Greetings,
    I am using the 90-days-trial Version of SAP Web AS 6.40 and the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
    I have created a HTTP Servlet that reveives a XML-file. Now I want to parse and validate this file. The class that I have created to validate this file works fine and also the communication with the servlet does not make any problems.
    The problem I have is that I have to use three .xsd files to validate the xml-content. When I use the absolute path to define the location of these three files (on my hard disk), everything works fine. But I did not yet find the right location where to place the xsd files to make them accessible using a relative path.
    I already tried to place the files in deifferent locations, and I also created a .jar containing these xsd files, I deployed it and created a reference in the .ear, but this does not work neither.
    I would be very grateful if you could give me a hint where to place these files.
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Bye,
        Nadine

    Hi Nadine,
    assuming that your validation class is located in package "de.nadine.validation", then the source (and class) directory structure has to look like this:
    de
    |-nadine
    ..|-validation
    ....|-Validation.java
    ....|-schema.xsd
    If you then use
    URL schemaURL = de.nadine.validation.Validation.class.getResource("schema.xsd");
    this will work, definitely.
    Hope that helps.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • How to access external IPs from inside

    Hello,
    We have several servers that we NAT to internal IPs on the inside interface. Normally we just setup DNS on the inside to point to the private IPs.
    But I have always been curious, how do you configure the ASA so a host on the inside can talk to a public IP address behind that same ASA?

    AAArrrrgggghhh!!! I misread the original post.
    But for Karthik's suggestion to work, DNS requests would need to pass through the ASA to a DNS server in either a DMZ or out on the internet.  If DNS requests do not pass through the ASA then you will need to NAT the public IP to the private IP on the inside interface in a hairpinning manner.
    Keep in mind that when using DNS doctoring you would need to have an ACL permitting traffic from the internal IP to the private IP of the server if traffic is being denied to the private IP.
    For NATing the public IP to the private IP on the inside interface you could do something like the following:
    object network SERVER
      host 10.0.0.100 (keeping with Karthik's example ;-)  )
    object network LAN
      subnet 192.168.100.0 255.255.255.0
    object network SERVER-PUB-IP
      host 1.1.1.1
    same-security-traffic permit intra-interface
    nat (inside,inside) source static LAN LAN destination static SERVER SERVER-PUB-IP

  • Using JMX to read ejb manifest jar and ejb-jar.xml in ejb jar inside ear

    Hello,
    I have an ear deployed on weblogic console. I need to check contents of manifest file and ejb-jar.xml of a jar that is present in the deployed ear.
    Currently I am using below code to access jar inside ear deployed :
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable(5);
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,
    url);
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, user);
    env.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, password);
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(env);
    mBeanHome = (MBeanHome)ctx.lookup(MBeanHome.ADMIN_JNDI_NAME);
    String type = "EJBComponentRuntime";
    Set beans = mBeanHome.getMBeansByType(type);
    try{
    for(Iterator it=beans.iterator();it.hasNext();)
    EJBComponentRuntimeMBean rt = (EJBComponentRuntimeMBean)it.next();
    if(rt.getParent().getName().equals("xxx")){
    System.out.println(rt.getName());
    l.add(rt.getName());
    Here xxx is the ear. Now I need to get inside the jar (represented) by variable rt and access its manifest file,ejb-jar.xml
    Does anyone have an idea how to do this?
    regards
    Sameer

    Isn't it possible to put them there manually? :)

    I want to access external data from my SharePoint site.

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff625800.aspx
    I followed the first article but I get this error when I open the external list in my SharePoint site:
    "Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. If the problem persists, contact your Web server administrator."
    I don't know how to write a custom code
    BTW I have installed PowerPivot on my SharePoint server.
    Can someone please help me? I need to do this very quickly.

    Hi,
    Can you please elaborate whether the data you are getting is from excel file or from database.
    1. If you are populating it from excel , then you can use the Excel service, Power pivot etc mechanism.
    2. If you are getting it from SQL database then you can use BCS service application and use the OOTB external list and content type to display the same in your home page.
    Links of artcles are given below.

  • How to Access Maintenance View from a program

    Hi Experts,
    I have created a maintenance view for a table. i want to insert data's into the table through the maintenance view. I don't know how to access the view, how to insert data into the Maintenance view. Please suggest me how to access the view from the program.
    with regards,
    James...
    Valuable answers will be rewarded...

    Hi,
    What is the need to search for a program.
    Use transaction SM30 or SE16 to create or maintain entries in the table.
    e.g. if the Maintenance view is created on table A, then Goto transaction SM30 or SE16 and give the table name as A and proceed. This will automatically take u to the maintenance view on tha table A.

    Yes, the Trajan Pro 3 fonts have Cyrillic glyphs in them. You need to use Unicode-encoded text to get to them.
