How to reference Portal Theme in Web Dynpro Application?

Hi All,
I have implemented a WDA that is being embedded into the Portal. My customer has designed his own Portal Theme.
However, the WDAs embedded into the Portal do not appear in the style of the Portal Theme.
Now, my question is which means are required in order to have the WDAs use the same Theme as the Portal?
Can I provide WDA parameter WDTHEMEROOT with the URI of the Portal Theme? If yes, how do I get the URI of the Portal Theme?
I guess parameter WDFORCEEXTERNALSTYLESHEET also is relevant in this matter... Please let me know how I get this working!
THANKS
Johannes

  • How To Consume UME services in Web Dynpro applications

    Dear Friends,
    I am developing a new web dynpro application in which i want to get the user related information in my dynpro code. I have used com.sap.secuirty.jar file in class path -> lib of my project.
    I have written code sth like this.
    IUser user = null;
    String username = user.getCurrentUser().getSAPUser();
    and defined sap.authentication as a application variable to fetch user creadentials from portal run time.(user logs in to the portal and dynpro application fetches user credentials from portal). When i do this, the login window appears twice and user needs to enter his credentials more than once. If I remove sap.authentication parameter from the application then i am not able to get the user credentials. Could you please tell me the right method of fetching the user credentials in web dynpro application? Do we need to use sap.authentication? do we need to include sharing reference of the usermanagement in our application?
    kindly share your knowledge.

    These might be good places for you to start.

  • How to get User Id in Web dynpro application

    Hi Experts,
    I am running web dynpro application with authentication checkbox set. I want to display user id of the user in my application. I am using following code in Init method of component controller.
    IWDClientUser wdUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
    WdContext.currentContextElement().setUserName           (wdUser.getClientUserID());
    Here I am getting some integer value as userId.
    I am not using Portals, so solutions suggested for portal are not useful for me .
    Is there any way to get this uset id.
    Thanks in advance

    hi
    try this piece of code
              IWDClientUser wdUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
              IUser user = wdUser.getSAPUser();
              if (user != null)
                        IUserAccount[] acct = user.getUserAccounts();
                        if(acct[0] != null)
                                  String strUserid = acct[0].getLogonUid();
    wdContext.currentZtms_Fm_Regupdate_InputElement().setAssoid(new String(strUserid));
    Note: Defining the IUser will show an error. To resolve this, within the properties of
    the project, choose Java build path -> Libraries -> Add external jars ->
    com.sap.securities -> lib -> com.sap.security.api. Open this file and retype the code.

  • Can the role info be passed from portal to ABAP web dynpro application

    Hi,
    We have some roles in the portal. We call the ABAP web dynpro applications from the portal. Is it possible to pass on the role from the portal to the Web dynpro ABAP application so that we can use this role information in the application.
    Thanks,
    Pooja

    Hi,
    you can try to add the expression
      role=<IView.PCDUnit>
    as part of the Application Parameters in the iView. This will be the role in 99%. However not all iViews started in the Portal must belong to a role. You can start iViews using page navigation that are not part of a role. Therefore the PCD does not talk about roles but about "units" which is the superordinate term.
    the value will be the PCD path of the role - e.g:
      portal_content/myFolder/roles/myRole

    Even though those are tow different tabs, but both are under one view controller.
    So create a node and pass the data.. so data will be available to both tabs.
    View controller is local controller
    component controller is global controller.
    if you want to access the node outside your view then declare the node in component controller.

  • How to inject external configuration into web dynpro application

    Hi colleagues,
    I've a web dynpro application, which has some hard coded hostnames in the source code.
    All hard coded hostnames should be moved to some else place, either engine parameters or external configuration file.
    Searching over the project, hard coded hostnames were found in following file types:
    - wdmodel files
    - properties files
    - java files
    How to inject external configured hostnames into web dynpro applications, especially wdmodel and property files? Are threre best practices?
    Thanks for any hint!
    Best regards
    Daniel

    property file is supposed to do that job, you can configure the value at nwa after the application is deployed.

  • Using portal theme in web dynpro tables

    We are currently running EP6 (NW04).  Is there a way to make our java web dynpro table ui elements use the portal theme?  All tables appear blue unless they are checked as readonly in which case they are white.
    I see there is a TableCellDesign ui element, but that is not available until NW04s and we are not there yet.
    Please assist. (and thank you!)
    Jeff Karls

    hi
    You are right about NW04s portal theme editor and we are able to change colour
    the tablecelleditor ui. But as far as i remember i was able to change properties like selected cell colour, non selected cell colour and mulitselected cell colour.
    However if you are not able to change it in EP 6.0 (NW04) then use the webdynpro themes. I suppose you will be able to do everything there.

  • How to call custom themes for Web Dynpro ABAP Application?

    Hi,
    I need to change the appearance of Web Dynpro ABAP application. So far I followed below steps,
    1.     Created theme folder u2018testngou2019 (SE80->MIME Repositoty -> SAP->PUBLIC->BC->UR->nw5->themes -> u2018testngou2019 ).
    2.     used program BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS to dowmloaod content of  u2018sap_tradeshowu2019 (SE80->MIME Repositoty -> SAP->PUBLIC->BC->UR->nw5->themes -> sap_tradeshowu2019) to desktop.
    3.     Modified the themes using Eclipse Theme Editor.
    4.     used program BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS to upload modified themes to MIME repository u2018testngou2019  (SE80->MIME Repositoty -> SAP->PUBLIC->BC->UR->nw5->themes ->  u2018testngou2019) .
    My current URL is like http://server.name:XXXX/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/hrrcf_a_startpage_int_cand?sap-client=XXX.
    Now I want to know how custom themes called for Web Dynpro ABAP Application.
    Is my approach correct?
    ...Naddy

    Hi Naddy,
    What you used is one way and even I failed when tried that method,
    Instead go to SE38 - WD_THEMES - and you need to upload the zip file and you need to follow a folder structure.
    it is case sensitive, atleast the zip file.
    Make a zip file by name "Project.zip" -
    Create a Folder Project and have the below folder structure,
    1  data - all the properties files and also the designinfo file, below is the code
    2  themes - (to get all the files download the theme from portal and you will have all the folders)
       2.1  ur
         2.1.1 name of the theme
           2.1.1.1 common
           2.1.1.2 csf
           2.1.1.3  r
           2.1.1.4  ur - all the css files (would be good if you can get the files from the server.)
           2.1.1.5   WSRP
    3  war - empty folder
    *.designinfo
    isVisible=true
    version=7.0.14.1.0
    isDefault=false
    isSapDesign=false
    designName=**** name of the theme
    Once done create a zip file and click on Start Import and give the path and will ask for transport request, it will take a while to upload once done as mentioned in the use the parameter sap-ep-themeroot="path"
    This will resolve the issue.
    Cheers-

    Most all UI elements can be changed by the Theme Editor.  Not all aspects of each UI element is customizable.  You will need to look through the theme editor to see what all it supports.
    You can use the Eclipse Portal Editor (unsupported by SAP) to change the them of WDA applications.

  • How to Disable Portal Links with Web Dynpro Java?

    Hi all,
    I have configured some access to my apps through iviews in my portal content, each application is included in a PCD Structure inside a User Role; according the roles asigned to my users are the access to the applications the user wolud have
    For example:
    Role 1
    RootApp
         iView1.1
         iView1.2
         iView1.3
    Role 2
    RootApp
         iView2.1
         iView2.2
    Role 3
    RootApp2
         iView3.1
    My users might have one or even the 3 roles, and depending on their roles is the access to the applications that they may have.
    Now I have a requirement of the user wherein when the user logs in to the portal and clic in the RootApp link the Dynpro Application must to present an iView showing a set of terms and conditions; if the users accept the terms then they can continue using the application defined by the PCD definition, but if the users don't accept the terms, the aplication links in the portal must be disabled and the user can not use the aplications defined, but this only has to be applied to the root link selected (RootApp) in wich the user doesn't agreet the terms and conditions, however, other applications that are non dependent of the root link (RootApp) can be used (RootApp2).
    Are there any way to disable only certain portal links using a web Dynpro implementation?
    Thanks In Advance

  • How to close portal page by Web Dynpro App

    Hi There,
    I would like to close a portal page by clicking a button of a Web Dynpro App which is inside an iView on that page.
    Is this possible or not?
    Bertil

    Bertil,
    First, it is very bad decision to make decisions instead of user. Just redirect him to logoff page and let close window himself.
    In WebDynpro you may use <b>Exit plug</b> on interface view with parameter <b>Url</b> (notice the case) of type string.
    Then you may previously fire this plug with JavaScript url: javascript:void(window.top.close())
    In recent versions of WD this will not work. So you have to redirect user via exit plug to some static html page, that contains in header <script>window.top.close();</script>

    Hi,
    >> I have some portal service and how to use that in the web dynpro application.
    Yes. U can use Portal service in webdynpro. Check the link given by subathra.
    >> and also what is the main diff between Portal Component and web dynpro application
    Portal Components are components designed to run in portal server while webdynpro application can run in J2EE WebAS.
    >> do we required portal to run web dynpro application.
    No for general cases. Just WebAS is sufficient to run webdynpro appl. But if u use portal service in ur webdynpro appl, then make sure both (portal service and webdynpro appl) run on same J2EE engine. That is mandatory.
