How to reference the cell next to another cell in a formula?

I have a list of dates with transaction totals next to them in a large list. At the bottom I have a cell that shows which cell was the max. Now I am trying to pull the date that is located next to the max cell. How do I do this?

I'm not clear on whether your "cell that shows which cell was the max" contains the max value or contains the address of the cell with the max or contains the row number where the max can be found so I'll give you three answers.
If your list of numbers is in B2 through B10 and B11 is your max =MAX(B2:B10) and column C has the dates then the function would be
=LOOKUP(B11,B2:B10,C2:C10)
If your list of numbers is in B2 through B10 and B11 is the cell address of your max (B7 for example) and column C has the dates then the function would be
=LOOKUP(INDIRECT(B11),B2:B10,C2:C10)
If your list of numbers is in B2 through B10 and B11 is the row number of the max (7 for example) and column C has the dates then the function would be
=INDIRECT("C"&B11)

Like I have to refernce employeId,startDate, endDate values in 2nd function from parent view object. some thing like parentNode.selectedStart_date parentNode.employeeId.
I know we can achive this writing the code in backing bean.But i want to know how can we refernce parent view object attribute values in child view object using Groovy or otherway?

How to merge the cells on a tittle's report

Hi there!
Considering a simple obiee report composed of a title and a pivot table. At the same time, the title is composed of a logo and a sentence. If I export it to excel, the logo in the title and the sentence are allocated to separated cells. Do you know how to merge the cells on the tittle?

There is no version of Excel for iPads. iPads come with something that lets you view the contents of Excel files but it implements only the common easy features and there are (literally) hundreds of things you can do in Excel that it doesn't know how to show on the screen, including some functions.
If you intend to work with spreadsheets on an iPad I suggest you buy Numbers for iPad
http://www.apple.com/apps/iwork/numbers/
which understands more (but still not 100%) of the things that Excel does. It is so cheap that you can probably afford to buy a copy just to see whether it does what you want.
If you are doing things with spreadsheets and intend to be primarily working on iPads then I suggest you actually use Numbers on a Mac as well, rather than using Excel at all.

How to reference the value of items in a generic report

I have created a generic report. The source is a PL/SQL-Function returning a query stored in a package of the parsing schema, using the apex_item package. I set the p_item_id values depending on p_idx and rownum. In the browser I can see the unique (id="...") of the items. The report works well.
One column is an analytical funtion and shows for every row the same value. The column is hidden. Depending on that value I want to show or hide buttons.
How can I get the value of this column. Apex_application.g_fxx don't work. Apex_application.g_fxx.COUNT =0 for all possible columns.
So how can I reference the value in the report.
Any suggestions?

I have some problem related to table cell selection.
I have a table that represets the calendar of some month and year.
I have the restriction that at one time only one cell could be selected.
Now i want the cell seletion like this,
I want only those dates to be selected if that date is after 'today'.
that is I want to restrict the selection of previous dates.
how can i do this.

JTable: How to reference the selected row during a drag?

I am implementing Drag and Drop on the rows of a JTable.
I want to change the background colour of each successive JTable row ("highlight" the row) as another row is dragged over it (I already have similar functionality implemented in a custom TableCellRenderer, but the Drag and Drop code knocks it out) .
I have run into a problem: All of the JTable methods refer to the rows as ints--0, 1, 2, etc.
Here is my approach:
I get the reference to the row by using:
     "int dragEnteredRow = table.rowAtPoint( e.getPoint() ); "
With the intention to use the variable dragEnteredRow to change each row's foreground colour:
     "dragEnteredRow.setForeground( selected ); "
That gives me an error message from the compiler:

the method rowAtPoint(e.getPoint()) returns an integer with the index of the row at point e, and not the instance of the row.
You have to use this integer to reference the row through a method like getValueAt(row int,col int) of the DefaultTableModel

For the standard report you can use the sending function from the menu, but sales order is a document, there is not the sending function in the maintenance view with t-code VA01 or VA02. Because the document should be printed out, you can define a condition type and create a condition record in background, let it send out a copy of sales order automatically when document saving.

How to: all the cell content to show up when printing (or saving to PDF)

Hello, everyone!
On my website, I export data to a "CSV" file, but all it does is come up with all the data like this:
"AAAAA" , "BBBBB" , "CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC" , " "2010-02-01 07:39:13" , "DDDDDDD"
What I do is select all, and save it into a .csv file, which is fine.
However, how do I get Numbers to open this .csv file and ORGANIZE it so that when I go to print it and open in Preview, all of the info actually shows up??
For example, the field "CCCCCCCCC" is for comments, thus can be long. When I open the file on Preview, not all of it shows up. It shows maybe a first line, and the rest is 'hidden'. So, I need numbers to automatically adjust the size of the cells according to the size of the content, so that all the info shows for when I go print it (or even save it as PDF).
I need this file in print.
How do I organize/fix this??
(I'm obviously not very versed in Numbers or Excel)

Two ways I can think of:
Select the column (click on the column letter). Up on the toolbar click the "wrap" checkbox. After doing that and while the column is still selected, increase the width of the column to your liking.
Or select the column then go to the Table Inspector and where it says "column width", click on "fit". This probably is not what you want because it will expand the column so all text fits on one line.
One other thing you may also want to do is go to Print View and reduce the size of the contents (i.e., your table) so it fits on one page or at least to the width of a page.

Bind the "selectedKey" property of the radio button (cell editor) to attribute "selectedRowIndex" (outside table data source node) and bind "keyToSelect" to attribute "Rows.rowIndex". Make sure that the "rowIndex" attribute will contain the index of the node element in node "Rows".

I'm not sure about the HSSF apis, however, i inserted the Cell Comments using jexcel apis. There is a method setComment(java.lang.String s, double width, double height) in class WritableCellFeatures using which you can insert cell comments

How to adjust the cell width in the table

How can the width of the cell in a table for ADE be adjusted ?
I wrote the following HTML code in a ePub file.

But, the created table runs over the page at the right side in the ADE (see figure). The values of widths in the both td tags are set to 50% and the same result is got. However, with no set of the values the table fits in the page.

In case you don't know already, itis easy to play quickly with HTML at a site like http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_basic
However, that won't reflect the 'outer' environment imposed by different browsers, eReaders etc.
The more explicit you make your HTML (eg explicit margin) rather than leaving it to environment support,
the more likely it is to appear the same (within reason of size etc) on all browsers/devices.
Probably worth making a fairly extensive style of your defaults that applies at the <doc> level.
