How to remove Path in Save As action?

I have some deifned actions in CS4. At one point I would like to save the file at a pre-defined quality. When I record that Save As part it also stores the path where to save the file to. I would like to remove that path. How can I do it?

I do not want to automate it, I work on one file at a time. A the end I run a "finishing" action that resises and saves the file with particular quality. All I want is to overwrite the original. With current Save As path the file is not overwitten - it is stored in a different directory altogether. How do I remove the path from this action?

There is a system lookup_type HR_PTU_ACTION_TYPES which gets these values.
Not sure if you can disable it(unless you go by the Help - Diagnostics - Examine)

How to intercept the InCopy 'Save' button action?

Hi,
I have an InCopy plug-in that can successfully intercept ‘Save’ actions from the File->Save menu (using an Action Filter).
But in InCopy there is also a Command Bar that contains a ‘Save’ button. The problem is that I cannot work out how to intercept this button action from within the plug-in code.
I have tried ‘Spy’ and tracing events and so far there does not appear to be any clue to what I should be intercepting to achieve this.
(the button action does not appear to trigger a FileSave action... which is what I was hoping it would do).

Did you disable the button via code?
I know that the class id (boss) for this button is kSaveButtonBoss.

Tracker - how to remove option to save file locally

Hi, when I send a pdf for review, it saves the document both on our Server and my local hard drive. How can I 'not' save it on my hard drive? All I want is the Server version, the local version is not required as this is just a duplicate of what I already have (but with "_review" inserted in the filename). Acrobat 8 never did this before, is this something new for V9?

open a dialog to the user to load an external file, or save it to their

How to remove "save pdf file as" dialog in startdoc with adobe acrobat 6

We set up pdfWriter as default printer and hope to generate pdf file with startdoc call. The existing code worked great on Adobe Acrobat 5. However, after we upgraded to Adobe Acrobat 6(complete install), the same code behaved differently. Somehow, startdoc always popped out a "save pdf file as" dialog box and ask for the file path but ignored the input path parameter(the pdf file was generated at the path that user manully input in).
W do not like this dialog box at all and expect silent action. How to remove this annoying dialog box and make the old code working (taking the parameter as pdf file path)?

I accessed to a website from my uni library computer using my student account and download a pdf file in there. However, that pdf file contains a line of words saying "Accessed by ... University Library on 30 Mar 2007". This line is printed vertically and on the left side of the page.
Do you know how to remove that line? I think the website just embedded that line into the file.

how to remove save, cancel option when end user runs the workbook and make some small changes like using page items or increasing rows and columns
I already made 2 changes
1) I removed the option in Oracle Enterprise Manager under discoverer viewer of saving
2) I also removed the option of Allow saving changes made in Viewer when adding workbook to portal
But still the end user gets options of saving when made small changes to workbook like increasing rows and columns
Is their any place, I need to make changes?

Don't use JSP to serve a binary file. It almost implies the use of awful scriptlets and the invocation of both the response writer and the response outputstream which would only lead to IllegalStateException headaches in the server logs.
Use a Servlet instead. Specify the file name as request parameter and let the servlet read the file and write it to the outputstream of the response.

File path recorded with "Save As" Action is fixed?

I am trying to create an action that will save the open file to a JPG (Quality 9, Matte: None), always in the same folder that it came from, as it does when this is performed manually. (The preference to Save As to the Original Folder is enabled).
What I am finding is that when the action is recorded, the path to the folder at the time is fixed in the action, effectively rendering it useless for further saves of files opened in different folders.
Is it possible not to save a path when recording the Save As action or make it variable so that adopts the folder that would have been chosen had the command been invoked manually?

What are you trying to accomplish here? By the sounds of it you want a way to be able to bulk abort, but not have the user be allowed to do this to individual instances...
If so, I'd recommend setting the activities to NOT be abortable or suspendable, and add a Grab activity in a support role. Then make the grab, be abortable. This makes it so that a 'super user' (ie one with support role), can go in, select several instances, grab them, then abort them but normal users can not.
Just a thought...

While using firefox I am using, private browsing and not remembering any passwords.
When I login to Gmail, the login page shows option to type in my gmail id and then password, and at the bottom, it gives the option of checkbox to remember the password next time. NOW, the problem is that, THIS CHECK box is always TICKED (Checked). I don't want it to be checked at all.

Hi Imran_Afzal, if you know that setting the cookie has no effect after you close your private browsing session, is it really worth finding a hack to clear the checkbox?
I believe in order to do that you would need to use an extension or userscript. However, I haven't searched for one.

Officejet HP4500-510n-z All in One wireless. How to remove or to bring out of Power Saver Mode?. Only way I have been able to getr it out of Power Saver Mode, is to unplug the power.

Try downloading and running the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility located here:

It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on by checking to see the error state of the printer. Let us know the results.

Someone told me just to remove the chip in clicking it to the trash can and voilá - it would be done. But as I did so, on the screen appeared a text which let me know, that that way had been the wrong one...
I should have clicked Finder plus something.... which I do not now remember but which was then not found behind the Finder.
So please would someone be so kind and tell me, where I can find explanations for the most simple functions. The manual I got does not include a clue.

First make sure that no application is using or has open any files on the disk. Then:
Click and drag the disk icon on the desktop to the trash. Wait for the system to recognize the action, and the icon should disappear from the desktop. It is then safe to remove the device.
Alternatively, you can secondary click on the disk icon, and then primary click "Eject (name of disk)". Wait for the icon to disappear off the desktop, and then it is safe to remove the drive.

How to skip non-PDF files in Action on folder?

I have an Action in Acrobat Pro XI that takes a default folder and (using JS) batch converts the PDFs to text. However, it also tries to convert *.txt files. I don't care that it imports the *.txt to *.pdf as temp file but it then stops the batch processing by asking if I want to save the changes to the temporary PDF. How can I bypass this? Here is the JavaScript it executes:

Options I'm fine with:
Skipping all non-PDF files from the Actions WizardCan't find a method to do this.
Disabling the Save As prompt for the temporary created PDFs (*.txt files)

It still creates a temporary PDF.
I tried this.closeDoc('true') but it closes Acrobat entirely.

Skipping all non-PDF files from the Actions Wizard
This used to be possible, but unfortunately it's not possible any longer in Acrobat XI.
What you can try to do is just add a Save command to your Action and hope that it saves the temp files silently (maybe you can save them in some temp folder), and then closes them and continues...

How to remove all hyperlinks at once?

Hi guys,
I want to know how to remove all hyperlinks in a text at once. I know how to remove one link at a time. But it's time consuming if you paste a text with a lot of hyperlinks.

Duplicate your document for safe then drag and drop the icon of the copy of the icon of this script saved as an application.

Déposez le sur le bureau par exemple.
Glisser-déposer l'icône d'un document Pages sur celle du script
va éliminer tous les Hyperliens et signets prédsents dans le document.
On peut également qlisser déposer un fichier index.xml.

Store it on the desktop for instance.
Drag and drop the icon of a Pages document on the script's icon
to remove the Hyperlinks and Bookmarks embedded in the document.
